No idea. You covered many options. Some you didn't cover: Aliens , Less supernatural, but a portal into another dimension, which would make it a interdimensional being. Scotland use to have stone built structures in the the days of the Celts and Picts that were gateway portals which strange monsters could out if it wasn't for the gatekeeps guarding them. The Doctor Who Episode "Eaters of Light" in series 10 goes back to the lost 9th Roman Legion in Scotland and a stone gateway to a portal that lead to another dimension. " The Picts knew of an inter-dimensional temporal rift in Aberdeen that could allow the Eaters of Light to enter Earth, albeit only one at a time. They built a cairn around it and had a "Keeper of the Gate" periodically open the portal to prevent it from widening. Whilst the portal was open, a single warrior would enter and fight the creatures back. As time passed much more slowly in the creatures' dimension, a few minutes of battle there equated to six or seven decades of peace outside. In the 2nd century, the Roman Ninth Legion invaded the area. The Gatekeeper at the time, Kar, allowed a single Eater of Light to pass through the portal; she thought it would destroy the legion, and become so weakened in the process that it would be easy to defeat. Instead, the creature became stronger after feeding on the Romans and began to darken the sky, threatening the world. The Twelfth Doctor, along with his companions Bill Potts and Nardole, worked with the Picts and the few surviving Romans to drive the Eater of Light back into the portal. Kar, along with several Picts and the Romans, then entered the portal to fight off the creatures. (TV: The Eaters of Light)" tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Eater_of_Light A Doctor Who Episode that deals with Scotland's mysterious past. Big Foot, or Sasquatch. Is in the Pacific North West of Canada and the USA. The Grass Man is said to be in the U.S state of Indiana, the Stink Ape, a red big ape in the U.S state of Florida swamps. Those 3 are Native American legend, myths. There is the Yetieti or, the abominable snowman, that lives in the Himalayan mountains. Some people believe those mythical creatures are from Earth evolutionary past, such as Neanderthals. Could the big gray, grey, man be that? Who knows. Like you said it could just be the low air, altitude sickness

Likely a demon bound to a region. I recently discovered demons are the spirits of the Nephilim (human hybrids crossed with Messengers aka angels) according to old texts and accounts. Apparently they can't go up (heaven) like humans or below back to the earth like animals because they're among the cursed. Scott Carpenter goes into the details in his book 'The Nephilim Among Us Updated'. They gathered sufficient DNA evidence for this but of course it was suppressed. I am a subscriber of yours and a reciprocal follow would be appreciated. Hope this helps.

I've received messages from the dead so I'm all for things of a spiritual nature, but in physical nature there are usually good explanations for strange things, especially the images. I've watched episodes on the weather channel (before they turned all right-wing crazy) about weather phenomenon and that's usually the reason anything weird happens, from noises to visual oddities. I'd worry more about there being some methane or sulphur release from the mountain that makes the lack of oxygen from the elevation seem worse. They might want to put some type of monitor to see if it's putting toxic elements into the atmosphere if people are still climbing there.

The sound immediately made me think of a story from a ghost-hunting late friend of mine. He was called to investigate an old house where there was said to be deep, fear-inducing moaning coming from the attic - especially on stormy nights. The homeowner thought it was a previous occupant. My friend spent the night in the attic with a flashlight and a pistol. When the moaning began, he shone the light around and drew the firearm - but then put it away. The light picked out an old coke bottle, stuffed into a small crack in the roof, it's neck facing outward. I'm betting Ben Macdui has a few rock crevices or even small caves that can make one hell of an echo. The whistling of the wind through a small opening + Brocken spectre + disorientation from low visibility + popular legend = monster.

I used to work in this museum which was hidden in the gorge and I'd hear weird noises in the evening when I was closing everything, especially in the autumn. I was telling myself it's just a sound of stream that was running through the gorge. Then one time after work I stopped in the near pub and somehow the debate started about this gorge and a lot of hunters said how they never go up there during the night and their dogs always bark and refuse to enter it. There is a burial ground up in the slopes from WWII but there could be something much older and powerfull.

I got surprised by a Brocken Spectre some years back, as I reached the top of a local hill early in the morning and turned round to admire the view. There in the mist about a hundred yards away was this giant grey figure. I had a moment of uncanny fear, as I pointed at it and it pointed back, before I realised it was me.

The ringing / whining sound is called Low Frequency Intrusion! When you get high up enough in the mountains, you can sometimes hear it, and it messes with your head. It can make some go crazy (not saying anyone who’s experienced anything on the mountain is crazy btw) but it can also cause hallucinations, and things like that, so maybe that’s what’s causing it?

I’d never heard of this one before! Mist on the tops is always quite weird, it’s constantly moving, swirling and drifting it can play some serious tricks on you, particularly when visibility is compromised and your edgy anyway, when you’re trying to convince yourself that you really are on a path and not just following a random sheep trail!😊 I always found the Cullins, walking from the Elgol end for some reason, weird when mist came in quickly, also in England in the Lakes walking from Haystacks to Gable there’s a section where the mist seems to rise vertically in a strong wind up a particular crag almost like an inverted waterfall, very peculiar as mist always seem to distort and muffle sound they’re quite aerie!

30 years ago my younger brother, ex-husband and myself all witnessed the same thing on these mountains. We saw an older man with a beard and piercing blue eyes. He was wearing a kilt and hiking up the mountain with his sheepdog. He appeared translucent and a bit grey. He stared at us. We were not afraid but it wasn't until we skied past him and stopped later that we all thought it was weird to see someone walking up the mountain in a kilt in the snow. I still think about it to this day 30 years later!

This is fun, I love this kind of stuff. I dunno what it is, but I think it's definitely not to do with the altitude. ~4,000 feet isn't that high an elevation, it wouldn't cause oxygen deprivation-at least not in those people who were experienced hikers in the area & etc. If it were 10,000-12,000 foot elevation then maybe.

Some of the stuff reported is probably as you said due to disorientation from whiteout conditions etc. But those footsteps and a lack of echo by experienced hikers....makes me think ghosts? You should check out Mt. Adams in Washington State. I went camping there, and it's full of legends of flying saucers coming out of a hole in its peak. If you search night vision videos on KZread, you'll find plenty of campers spotting lights emerging from the top of it. We were well near the peak when we camped, and I can safely say Mt. Adams has an air of mystery about it, moreso than other mountains in the area.

I doubt that people would make up those kind of stories considering the Social Stigma surrounding them. According to Scottish lore there is castle, sorry I don't remember the name of the castle, that is suppossed to be haunted by a ghostly horse and rider. A friend of mine took a picture actually showing a ghostly horse and rider that didn't cast a shadow and I know it wasn't photoshoped because my friend wasn't that technicaly sophisticated and he did not develope the film himself. As to what the Grayman is I think it's either a Cryptid or some kind of ghost or apparition. Either way, it apparently doesn't like company.

Many years ago when ascending Ben Macdui with a friend we were caught in a whiteout, we had just about reached the summit so continued to the marker. Naturally, rather than try and descend, we decided to wait to see if it would clear. After a good few minutes, the wind started to pick up and the temperature dropped. It was then we both suddenly heard what we thought was another climber calling, we called back but got no reply. It fell silent for the longest time then suddenly we heard the crying start again, which sounded much nearer this time. Again we cried out but again we got no reply. It was then the cries again stopped as abruptly as they had begun and we never heard them again. By this time the whiteout had all but cleared and the wind had also dropped. So we both followed the direction we had heard the cries but we never saw anyone else on the mountain, even though we couldn't possibly miss anyone on the path down. Discussing what we had heard on the way down, we both concluded it must have been the wind playing tricks, but the experience was definitely eerie. I had never heard anything like that before, and thankfully I've never heard anything like it again.

I have no idea what it is. Really thoroughly researched and well-informed video. I had heard of Am Fear Liath Mor but I have no idea where. I quickly searched a heap of books but not the Borthwick book, which you did mention and is a really good read. I have walked up Ben MacDhui so maybe that is how. Although completely unaware of it, with each step up the mountain some mysterious presence seeped into me. The last week I have been working on a painting of Loch Etchachan, with Ben MacDhui in the background, and you have just released this. How uncanny is that? And in my quick searches I found another mysterious presence for you. Jim Crumley, in his book A High and Lonely Place writes 'Glen More is said ... to be haunted by a giant spectre, the Lamh-deirg (red or gory hand) who offered battle to belated travellers through the woods'. Another video you could do?

Abso love this, never heard aboot it before. It could be what they call "elemental" spirits. These are not like human spirits or animal spirits, just natural elemental beings that "protect" an area of nature. Also, it could be natural portals. I follow the American guy Dave Paulides who runs the whole CanAm Missing 411 project. He has many cases of missing people in the great outdoors. Many of them show up dead with no rhyme or reason, kids go missing too. His cases are interesting because he only studies cases with specific profile points; for instance he wont touch cases where the victim had mental health issues, just to eliminate diff possibilities. You should check his KZread channel if you aint heard aboot him already. One recurring theme is that folk walk into areas where all of a sudden the whole sound of nature disappears, birds stop chirping, no wind an uneasy feeling comes over them but they rarely see anything even though they feel a presence nearby making them shit scared. Anyways, soz for the long post 😂 But I defo love these videos. Thanks for this!🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@@ErinsHoose I think you're body reacts to things different spiritual senses. I first felt this 40yrs ago in Belize. At Mayan temple, I had a terrible feeling, a really bad taste of mental in my mouth and very strong smell of blood. The Mayans used these temple's for human sacrifice, and played a game with the heads, yes your body senses the presence of the dead.
