A Close Encounter On Ben Macdui I Didn't expect THIS! I Hiking Britain's second highest mountain
#hiking #scotland #cairngorms #Ben Macdui
On this adventure in the Highlands of Scotland we experience strong winds, local wildlife and a meteorological phenomenon. However, as we reached the summit we experienced something else.....
Join us on our hike to the summit of Ben Macdui, Britain's second highest mountain. Not for the faint hearted!
My apologies for the sound quality at times. I had to keep the microphone inside my jacket to prevent it from being blown away!

Wahey! Brilliant, Ian! And snowshoes too - I'm very envious. One of my favourite walks - and you got The Big Grey Man too - what a day 😃 Good to see the lovely Meg looking as sprightly as ever. Wish I was there but this is the next best thing - thank you - Sue 😘

Thanks Simon, always appreciate your comments. At first sight I thought those clouds were mountains but then there aren't any that high. Never seen them so pronounced. Good fun putting this one together, especially being able to include the BGM 😁Best wishes to you and your family 🙋♂
Beautiful video Ian , in Scotland you have more snow this year , in our italian Alps is so dry and not so much snow 😭😭 . Ciao Ian 😀

Grazie caro Andy.

Thank you guys 👍The Cairngorms is an amazing area with a lot of variety...something for everyone 😊
Wow, these cloud formations were just incredible. Almost reminded me of independence day and the UFOs breaking through the clouds. Must have been a stunning experience to witness this live.

Aye, it was quite surreal. They looked like mountains in the distance but there aren't any that high! Glad you enjoyed it guys and thanks for watching 👍🤩
Great video mate, I've been up in Cairngorm in the middle of July before and it got down to 2° at one point, was hailing and I couldn't see 4 feet ahead of me. Then the clouds parted and the sun came out 😂 you really have to prepare well before going up there. Cheers!

Thanks Matt. Yep, the Cairngorms demand respect at all times of the year. In the centre of the plateau you are a long way from help should you need it. Stay safe on your travels 😊
The Big Grey Man? I'm grey just looking at the height!!!! 🙆♀🤣
