    This is a beautiful review my dude. Someone that talks about all the things i care about in a phone, as far as more advanced settings and customization. A previous review of this phone i watched just complained about a russian app that tries to install more apps you cant get rid of. When it is in fact the default phone set up and they did not pick the correct language.

    Finally :) ... Hey Jase, when i saw your previous Black View video i said yay he's got the thermal version ... nope not this time ... but now you have and your're the first to show its use in the workshop ... I was seriously thinking of grabbing one a few months ago but ended up with the UNI-T UTi260B thermal cam (similar price for UK) mainly because of the macro lens addon ... damn what a difference in detail ... its awesome ... so i think you may find the Black View will produce better results with a makshift macro too ... or just buy a Thermal cam macro lens, like the Unity's ... btw, great video mate 😎

    Great review! May I ask you, for how long have you been using BV8800 and now this BL8800? I am interested in buying this BL one, but reading reviews on Trust Pilot, most of the reviews are negative, pointing out the downsides. Did you have any issues with performance, OS, software issues etc.?

  • @ststele

    @ststele

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you! I opened the BV8800 sometime in January but didn't develop the courage to move away from Apple until sometime in February~March I think. Recently I've noticed when attaching pictures to an MMS, the keyboard response will lag a bit. Other than that, the performance has been really snappy and overall I've been pleased with the phone. Now that I've gotten used to it, I wouldn't want to switch to a phone with a smaller battery! It's lasting me 4 days without charging. Honestly - I can't see what negative reviews would be but I certainly wouldn't take it lightly and would further research. I lean heavy on buyer feedback for stuff like this.

    An issue I ran into today but really should have known better - I used my BV8800 to record a short underwater video for an upcoming post and it leaked water through the microphone membranes pretty bad. I've seen the same exact trouble with many, many Apple phones though so I'm not sure why I thought this phone would be any different! I'm posting a teardown video soon to show what happened.

  • @matex237

    @matex237

    Awesome, thank you for the feedback. Yeah, it is pretty hard to find user reviews of phones like this, the most of the reviews are russian. I even watched a russian 40-min video in which the guy was dissasembling the BV8800 (inside should be the same as BL) to take a look at the quality of the parts, and (from what I managed to understand from the subs) he said that he is generally pretty satisfied with the quality (apart from waterproofing which could have one extra layer of protection, microphone membrane that you mention which is easily pierced if you try to clean the mic and push the membrane too hard, and some lower quality parts susceptible to corrosion, but nothing that he didn't already see on some other higher end phones). So it actually all comes down to the OS and how optimized it is. It is great to hear that it works well. I ordered a BL8800, so let's see how it performs. Thanks once again for the great review and the answer!

    This is good to know! I've dropped my bv8800 in the bottom of a kayak with an inch of salt water several times and washed it off with fresh water later. I also jumped in the pool with it and swam across the bottom to see how the mics and speakers would behave afterwards. I think if I continued to use it under water, it would eventually kill it but it does have an underwater mode so I wonder just how well it is made. It's hard to imagine water not seeping through mic and speaker membranes. I'm probably going to open the bv8800 to see if anything has been seeping.

    @@ststele I can't say much for the mic but I know the speakers are made from a nitrile like rubber although that being said they have a foam gasket that seals the speaker to the back of the phone so if water intrusion was to happen I would be putting money on it getting in via the foam gasket, on my bv9800 beside the camera there's a hole that acts like a breather but it has some kind of hard filter behind it that allows air to be displaced but water cannot pass through it I'm guessing that's there to Ballance pressure when the atmospheric pressure changes I'm not sure.

    It would make my voice really loud but also picks up everyone else in the room who is talking. It's like there is no noise cancellation on that microphone when using it to talk on the phone. I believe this has a Lepton 2.5 sensor and I just checked the specs - It has a resolution of 80x60 and a refresh rate of 9hz. This is actually less than I thought which means every time I said "about half the resolution of the seek pro" in this video, I was wrong!

    Not really - the IMEI is what the carrier is using to identify the phone. I think if they really wanted to, they could identify the phone some other way and catch everyone that is using devices that aren't on the whitelist.

    Loving the review, Jason. I'm torn between this and the non-pro bl8800 (which I would probably buy the seek or flir cam attachment. Which of those is better?). A couple things I wish were there: -SD card slot 😭 -removable battery -both night vision and thermal camera (just put it on the tab lol) -ir blaster (currently have LG V20 lol) -aux headphone jack port? (Not sure if it doesn't) Trying to create the ultimate phone here, haha. What would you add/change on this list?

  • @ststele

    Hey, thanks for commenting. I can't see why they wouldn't include IR & Thermal! It seems it would only need to be missing a filter to enable IR to work. I think I'd rather do without one visible light camera for it anyway (since there seems to be a few of them lol). The Seek Compact Pro camera is quite a lot better than any FLIR that I've used so far. I do with this model had IR & Thermal. Over time I've gotten used to not having an SD card or headphone jack though.. I really can't say I miss them!

    Okay so here's my dilema. I have bought a phone in the past and used the IME numbers from another phone to have the new phone be able to get turned on with my service provider. What that did, it allowed the phone to be turned on however I was not able to use all the features on the new phone. I am so sick of Samsung and refuse to do another Apple product, I'm an android person. I need reviews that comes with no promos from anyone getting paid and would like to buy a phone that lasts more than a year. The Samsung phone I have now I've had for 6 years and it still works great. I need a 5G phone and want something rugged and has majority of the features of the other more known brands like the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Can someone help me with suggestions and possibly refer me to some more reviews that are neutral and honest? Thanks.

    The problem with Samsung is the thinking it must be a galaxy S line up. They have A and M line up with mostly a few things missing for soo much cheaper. Mostly saving on the Amoled screen with crazy resolutions and refresh rates. Just get a beefy case and your sorted.
