Playing with GSW was a luxury he didn’t appreciate. The organization, the system, the culture, coaching staff and players were all conducive to a young, talented player like Poole to develop over time but his ego and arrogance could not be satiated. The inability to get along with Ker, Steph and Klay speaks volumes. He’s going to either weather the storm that is playing for the Wizards (unlikely) or be out of the league without some humility.

Thankfully he is already on year 2 of the contract so little bit less we have to pay. I will never say it was a bad move considering we got rid of a 4 year 250 million dollar contract in Bradley Beal who with us barely played 60% of his games after signing it and has only played one game so far for Phoenix this year. We also secured some good draft capital and Landry Shamet who I see as a surprising bright spot for the team so far this year. I can deal with Poole playing foolishly knowing our future is trending in the right direction.

In my opinion, when golden state won their 4th ring JP thought he was a main reason they won a championship, which depending who you ask he did or did not do. I think he was a good supporting player when Steph and Klay aren’t on the court, but he didn’t win that ring all by himself, and when he got traded to Washington, I think he came in thinking he could be a franchise player for a team, which in reality, at least for the time being, he’s only a solid playmaker at best. If he can stop thinking he’s some superstar and just work on his game, he’s got the potential to do great things.

As a diehard Wizards fan, I'm truly rooting for the guy to turn it around. He has talent and can be a cornerstone to a rebuilding franchise. I believe his downfall is that once he got that big payday from Golden State, he lost his hunger. He is playing like someone who feels entitled due a few good years and cashing in. True winners stay hungry, stay grinding, and lead. I look at Kuzma and Avdija, same team, just recently got big paydays but they on the other hand are having the best seasons of their careers so far. What’s funny is the Warriors filled his spot with Brandin Podziemski. Who is the “anti Poole”. Literally excels at everything Poole sucks at. He can defend, is an elite passer, one of the best at not turning the ball over. Is unselfish, with a super high basketball IQ. As a Warrior fan, Poole was fun for a while and he helped us win that 2022 ring. But dude also lost us a lot of games with costly turnovers, bad shot selection and zero defense.

To be fair though i truly feel like chemistry needs to be talked about. The chemistry in Golden State is crazy and when there all on the floor they flow together so well you just gotta see it to believe it dont even know how to explain it but its better than any team in the league. Now he has to take a big step and try to be the anchor for a new team that doesnt have a single star.

When Jordan Poole, was with the Warriors, I initially thought he was a humble and up and coming star. He was exciting to watch and it seemed like he was a good fit and complimented Steph, Klay & Draymond and the 1st team offense. I don’t know what happened to him, but I imagine being traded from a championship caliber team to a team that has a low winning percentage and seldom makes the playoffs, completely caught him off guard and shocked him. He’s probably dealing with the culture change and having an extremely difficult time adjusting to his new environment. If, he had been traded to a team, that wasn’t lower tier, he would probably accept his trade and play to potential, while building his portfolio and helping his team win games. Right now, Jordan Poole, might be living in a state of purgatory and possibly hates where’s he’s playing. The best thing he can do is start playing better, and market himself and become an asset, so he can be traded. He’s in a funk, without question, and has to figure out how to turn this negative persona of him, to a positive image and valuable basketball player.

This is the EXACT_SAME song n dance us Warriors fans had to deal with in his 4 yrs in SF. What bothers me most is there has been no progression in improving his shortcomings. Its like his ego is so big, he thinks he's good enough as-is. People in his circle need to give this kid an intervention! His friends and family are smart enough and honest enough to tell him "hey JP, maybe you should work being one of the best defenders in the league. or Maybe you can learn how to be less turnover prone and exercise some restraint on the offensive end and make your teammates better" JP obviously has the talent and skills to be an elite player, but either the big contract or his ego or his lack of cerebral capacity on the court is stunting his growth. I'm just glad he's not on the Warriors anymore and I don't have to deal with the frustration watching his frequent boneheaded plays night after night. God bless you, DC fans! Smoke alot of weed---it'll help you keep your sanity thru the season!

Westbrook and Poole are far from comparable. Westbrook was MVP and the man in a team for multiple years, almost taking the team to some promising results. Poole is a young guy that shined as a 5th option and was carried to a title, honestly. Westbrook's lack of awareness was already sad, but Poole's is absolutely comical.

Seems like the inconsistency is a confidence issue. He wants to be the highlight reel to make himself feel good. Which implies that he doesn’t already. Like, what confident man goes and spends 500k on a first date. Trying to buy love, instead of making them work for what you got.

You could rag on any wiz player. Even though Poole doesn't do anything to help the team win, he's still better than 10 other guys on the team. He's not the problem. The problem is, outside of Beal, the wiz haven't had a good draft pick in 2 decades. You might say Wall, but every team would have taken Wall. They didn't discover an undervalued player. They lucked out with the #1 pick.
