It's not necessarily that Kanter wouldn't help a team, but all questions from the media would center around that. He isn't good enough to upset the team's chemistry and focus. Plus Kanter speaks with a quasi religious martyr and would claim any reduction in minutes, trade rumor, or criticism is because they hate freedom and are slaves to fascism... Doesn't sound worth it.

    Jeremy Lin had his run and this is no knock on the guy because I respect him as a person but his Linsanity moment overhyped his value. He was a good contributor but his hot streak raised his expectations and other teams wanted him as a centerpiece of his team until they realized he wasn't the guy they thought he was. If anything, he's been in the league longer than most people of his relative skillset and if he didn't have that moment with the Knicks, he would've languished in the G-League and eventually went overseas.

He's slow, can't shoot, and is only really good as a rebounder. He's just not a good modern NBA player and was on his way out. They’re “black listed” cause they tarnish the image of the league and they’re not good enough to be anything but bench and role players today I need to add that if you aren’t an elite player, then the team isn’t going to go out of their way to protect you. You can’t speak out against anything that the *business* that is the NBA isn’t standing on, and expect to continue to have a career in the league. It’s happened for decades. Enes Freedom spoke out against the Chinese government, and you wonder why he was unfairly phased out of the league? Waiters and Mayo were inconsistent players throughout most of their careers, then they committed infractions (on a shortened leash) and then wondered why no one would pick them up again. KPJ, he’s no Miles Bridges. A decent player whose team is better without him. It’s all. Business.

    Is there a video here in KZread explaining the details of players getting waived? Getting traded then gets waive became a trend these past several years.

  • @Scorpion-bd1ow

    @Scorpion-bd1ow

    5 ай бұрын

    pretty much a player getting waived means that whatever remaining years and salary that is guaranteed on their contract gets bought out by the team that does it. Now depending on the teams situation, they either can do a wave and stretch or a simply waive of the player. a wave and stretch pretty much takes the players remaining money and dividing it up over a set of years that makes it non impactful toward a teams salary cap and doesn’t impact their luxury tax flexibility. A regular contract waive/buyout means a team buys out a players contract and whatever amount of years left and money left is what the team pays for the rest of the regular season. there are conditions like if the contract is guaranteed or any incentives that make the overall value of the contract less that what is projected along with the salary cap being part of a reason why teams do it. the reason that players like kevin porter jr are traded to teams like the thunder are because the thunder are one of few teams this seasons that are not paying above the salary cap so they can buy out kevin’s contract in full and it doesn’t really do anything to their salary as only shai is making high amounts of money.

    In my opinion, it’s ridiculous that players who have beat their wifes or have a history of violence in general most of the times get a chance to get back to the league but players who used marijuana or “illegal substances “ which literally everyone takes or uses get banned and blacklisted for the rest of their career. And don’t get me started on Kanter, a guy who just speaks his mind and gets blacklisted by the NBA that supposedly stands for freedom etc… At the end of the day, it’s all about maintaining their money

    @@JahNuhThunDeeTheOneAndOnly The majority of NBA players are smoking weed. We can’t know how frequently but I’m sure millionaire athletes can balance it. This is already happening for years in the league so weed isn’t a problem. It becomes a problem only if you’re a role player and teams are looking for reasons to cut you off. As for your 2nd question, its just hypocrisy to preach about freedom, equality etc etc but only when the NBa benefits from it. For example, BLM had tons of revenue and the NBA promoted. But when we discuss about child labour on foreign countries and other important issues then the NBA isn’t all about freedom and speaking your mind all of a sudden

    Faried was always worse than Kanter and is even more outdated. A 6'8" power forward who can't even shoot midrange, can't do anything on defense and can't create a shot for himself or a teammate is useless. All he could do is catch lobs and rebound. Which might be okay if he could play C, but he has no length, rim protection or switchability.. So even for "small ball" he is useless, and he doesn't do anything well for a modern power forward role

Immediately after the trade to Houston, Porter dropped like 50pts in a game and had the Rockets fan MOIST but that wound up being fools gold. Everything that has happened to him he has done to himself. Atleast Dion Waiters was honest about his ATTITUDE problems. He never wanted to play with Kyrie in Cleveland and I’ll never forget that Nike commercial they had with Lebron and the Cavs when he came back from Miami: Peep Dion Waiters mean mugging and ice grilling Lebron while he’s trying to motivate em in the huddle. Why this wasn’t edited out is beyond me. KZread it and see what I’m talking about 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏽‍♂️
