To his credit, he gamed the system better than anybody in history. He got his ring, he got his $120m, he never has to work a day again in his life. He can just goof off on and off the court and be rewarded for it. If that was his real goal, then you gotta hand it to him that he hit it out of the ballpark.

The difference with curry and other great tough shot makers is they don’t just do highlight plays, that’s just what we remember. Most of these guys still get a lot of shots giving themselves good looks and keeping it simple. Poole tries to go for some crazy highlight play far too often imo.

Playing in the field of gravity of Steph and, yes...Klay also (last year he shot 41% from 3) Poole had way more space to operate and make things happen, without as much pressure on him Now with the Wizards, we can see how much his game is able to translate to other basketball situations. Small sample size, but it's not looking good so far.

He basically have gone through phases: 1. Rookie; had to prove something 2. Got better, a continuation of proving something 3. Became a champ early on his career 4. Got payed like crazy 5. Since he got paid and won a championship, his own expectation was that the torch will be passed on to him; effectively killing whatever motivation he had when he was just starting. He expected that GSW's offense would involve him even more, which is far from reality. Obviously, the young gun who got paid and performed really well in the finals, will never let himself be stagnant on that 3rd option position. Sometimes, early success really do indeed gets into your head. He's young, he definitely could still find his form again, but he needs to learn to put his feet back on the ground.

most of our jobs aren't remotely comparable to being an NBA player. the entire country isn't viewing every moment of me doing my job. my entire legacy and reputation isn't defined by my job performance. slacking at my job doesn't make it harder for my co-workers to achieve their goals. a generation of kids aren't looking at me as a role model. i get what you're saying and it's true for a lot of us, but most of us are in employment situations that aren't even in the same universe of comparability. a tighter comparison would be to look at other NBA players who get a huge pay day...does their performance tend to fall off a cliff after getting a bag?

Poole is also the light of the world exposing wickedness and those stuck in the old way and worn out style of playing basketball. Poole is ushering in high tech savvy entertaining basketball for the fans! He is not trying to please social media podcasters, or sports analysts. He has a higher purpose of not just winning games and championships but to entertain fans for their enjoyment and to uplift their spirits with encouragement, love, faith and wisdom by being a good example to spur young people to be a true champion wherever they are !

I remember that I saw the comments after the moment with deni avdija went viral and I was laughing, everyone called deni a bad teammate and said jorden is gonna be an allstar, while deni is the most unselfish player in the league and is being one of the most efficient players offensively, while being a top level, defender as well, while poole is.. well, poole.

Idk why people think Warriors did Jordan Poole wrong by trading him. It had nothing to do with the Draymond Green punch or choosing Draymond Green over him. For someone of that type of contract, his lack of taking accountability in taking bad IQ shots thinking for himself is what pushed them away from him and got frustrated with him. It also has nothing to do with his confidence in taking these shots when it hurts the team in taking those bad shots all the time. Now it seems like the Wizards players are already frustrated with him.

Lifelong Warriors fan here. Also, a previous hardcore Poole fan (until preseason 2022-2023), when I told fans there was definitely more to that storied "punch". A season later, vindication. I said that once he "got that bag" he no longer cared about the team. It was him and him alone. I'm not saying that Draymond was justified in punching him. Draymond should have had more patience with the young dude, but we must understand that the Warriors franchise is a 7-BILLION-dollar brand!! And Jordan Poole was hurting that brand. Poole is actually a MUCH better NBA player than I believe fans realize. However, his mentality is still immature for a professional. Lastly, his future is solidly in his hands, even now, but he will need to mature exponentially and also mirror his previous work ethic that he had during his Warriors days if he is to remain relevant to the game. I wish the young dude the best, but his NBA future is not currently looking great from this perspective.

I am so disappointed that he utilizes primarily the flashy aspects of Curry’s game. He has a good work ethic but he has no conscience acceptance of the basics of team play at both ends, especially defensively. He just doesn’t care. Also him saying that his legacy is set because he already won a title is him setting himself up to sell his career short. He is a superstar in his own mind. Saying he can now play “his brand of ball” is a scary prospect. Being a huge Michigan fan I was hoping that he would mature and settle in to being a well rounded player. That seems to be only a dream right now. What his game is right now is all style and no substance. He could be so much more if he applied himself.
