He should perform to stop people from doubting him unlike jogging every other game he should learn from Maguire who didn't tweet or post anything about the criticism he faced because he knew that he didn't play well now he's not the same anymore he's improved a lot.

This is nothing compared to what Maguire faced, when he stepped on the pitch though you could still see that he was still trying his best and wanted to help the team, he was a meme on every social even made fun of in other countries yet his attitude and body language screamed positive, he remained committed to the cause, i think that’s the problem with rashford, his body language is sulky, don’t care, his lack of commitment is why people are upset with him, everybody handles pressure differently but when you’re paid the big bucks to represent a club like United, you have to have a elite mindset, my respect for Maguire grows every day seeing how rashford is struggling to cope

I prefer he takes a year off like Ben Simmons, a basketball player who is supposed to be the next big thing and struggles with mental health. The way Rashford and his buddies act in their low point are putting their careers at stake, Lingard might be the one I will go easy on as he tried hard on the pitch, and Ole's tactics were doing him dirty. Also, the expectation is related to your price tag. Maguire and Antony didn't asked for being a 80-90 millions players, they get trashed for poor performance. Don't ask for the salary if you can't offer the same performance.

That even if they have a slump or poor form, they know that we (the fanbase) will back them till they get back. The truth is we haven't and it's gotten worse and we need to fix that. Most reasonable comment here. United fans have become extremely toxic and reactionary. A couple matches ago, I saw loads of people slanting Bruno and asking him to be binned in the summer. Now after the Sheffield match they’re okay with him again. If there’s a drop off once more, they’ll again start targeting him. I imagine a player who’s thinking of transferring to united would regularly see the way we treat our players and maybe second guess his decision to join.

The dude needs to stop paying so much attention to social media honestly, his agent, family and friends do to. High profile people will always get criticism spoken about them. What separates the true stars from everyone else is that they use that as motivation to prove everyone wrong inspite of it. In life you can't say why me!?, unless you also say it when you get paid millions and get all the trappings of being a star. Life is ying yang, the dark within the light and light within the dark, there is no perfect, there is no joy without hardship. Get on with it mate! Most United fans would give anything to be anywhere near where his life is. Get him a move to PSG pronto please.

I think we need a new United, players lose form but it seems beyond that for Marcus, to go a whole season and hardly offer anything, and youth players coming in that have not long since left school are outshining him means there is something fundamentally wrong. Most comments I see is criticism but maybe Rashford views criticism as abuse, some players constantly have reasons for not delivering, I think that is Marcus. I think this summer he should be sold because for me it's about the club and we need a new United

I find it amazing how they enjoy the life, the money, the material things, the influence it all brings but when they lose form the criticism, which is 100% deserved in Marcus’ case, is abuse. What happened to mental strength, to harder training put yourself into hard times to get it back, uncompromising reflection that it’s not good enough, strive for excellence…….. all this is missing and Marcus’ comments just means he’s feeling sorry for himself……. I think you have to take the rough with the smooth. He is a high profile public person, he knows about the social media. Foremost he is an professional sportsman and he has to behave accordingly. Long are those days gone, when alcohol, clubbing and unhealthy food. Everything is focused on that individual and the club does invest a lot of money on that person. So the club can expect. Sometimes it seems he is throwing his toys out the pram. That does never excuse personal abuse to him though. Don't think, PSG will buy him though, his performance leads much to be desired this year.

The thing is, I don’t have a problem with Rashford’s lack of form. I always backed Antony, even on his worst form. Same with Maguire, same with Dalot, same with Onana, same with anyone else. Rashford is the first one I will not defend. The difference is that Antony is a decent player who had lost some confidence and was on some bad form. He still worked incredibly hard every game, and showed great attitude and passion towards the club. Every single game, no matter how poor his form was or how bad the hate got. The same goes for the rest of the names I mentioned. However, Rashford is a quality player, but he never even looks like he wants to be there. I don’t remember the last time I saw him smile. He constantly watches his opponent run away with the ball after losing it. I don’t even have a problem with his work rate, or even his form, it’s the fact that he just looks like he’d rather be anywhere else. Every game is the same. Against Coventry, I think I saw him run once all game. I do think some people take the hate too far, but this is why I won’t defend him. He needs to be sold. We could get a good amount of money for him as well. Edit: He seems to care so little about football and so much about the money and the life it brings him, that I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he went to Saudi tbh. They apparently bid £180m for him about 6 months ago, so they’ll bid for him again, I’m sure. Not that much obviously, but it wouldn’t shock me as an outcome.

I was one of his biggest critics at the start of the season wishing he had agreed to the offer from West Ham. However Maguire has proved a real asset to United in this dismal season, and he has won my upmost respect. He has proved himself a man, and showed character and determination. He has shown over and over again that he’s not at the level of playing for United, yet he’s our highest paid player, been 8 seasons at the club and he’s had one good half season last year plus the sporadic sparkles of brilliance here and there, but overall a frustrating player to watch.

I love Rashford and I am always sympathetic when it comes to anyone’s emotional/mental state, but I believe that he’s come to a point where he is in danger of becoming another Sancho, Pogba, Lingard, etc. We’ve seen Maguire work through some of the worst abuse I think a player has received in recent times & not once has he complained, he’s put his head down and put in the work, even after being dropped and relinquished of the captains arm band. Rashford’s clearly in a difficult place & he’s done a lot for the club and the country both on and off of the pitch, but perhaps it is time to go and start somewhere else and start afresh, we need players that are driven and determined and I’m not sure Rashy (at this moment in time) is showing that… I know Maguire probably isn’t going to be here for much longer, but I’d take players with his attitude all day long and we need more of them in this squad

Everyone blamed Maguire for everything, even Shaw was out of position, Lindelof was poor at 1v1 and header and DDG was poor passer. All of them contributed to Maguire's poor performance. Everyone blamed McTominay for everything, even it is how ETH's tactic utilise two 8s, the counter attack often started from a careless mistake at the winger position. Everyone clowned Onana online for his mistake. See where are they now? Maguire arguably is the best player this season. McTominay saved United a few times this season, and having personal best season. Onana is much better now. How much abuse that Rashford received is actually abuse, or they are just criticism, even though some are not well-written.
