You must be new to the protracted negotiations. He was supposed to leave in 2022 but PSG was so sprung on Mbappe being the face of marketing the Quatari Enterprise with the upcoming world cup. SO they basically encouraged him (with help from PM Macron) to sign a 2 year extension with a 1 year opt in. (optional). He outsmarted them by not signing the opt in and decided to wind down his contract at the end of 2024, which meant no transfer fee for PSG. That's the fault of the PSG board for not devising a more clever contract that ensured they would get a transfer fee from Madrid (3 year deal)

The primary issue with the La Liga is that although there are a lot of historic and interesting teams in the league, it has incredibly poor profit sharing. Basically, Real Madrid and Barcelona take a majority of the profits which allows them to continually reinvest while other clubs struggle to catch up.

Clubs should remember when signing players for big fees that they could leave for nothing one day. Nobody should ever sign for a club that they don't want to go to either.

PSG's mistake is clinging onto him and making him their top priority when he has been showing hints that he wants to leave. Could've sold him when they had the chance. Should've learned from CR7's situation in Real Madrid. Even if he was their top contributor of the team with regards to everything (results, merchandise etc), when disagreements came and he wants to call it quits, the club and him immediately came into agreement to sell him (117m euros) and the damage was not that severe. The journalist is a hater. That’s not what happened tho ,mbappe wanted to leave the club since 2022 but just before he was about to sign the contract with Real Madrid ,he had a meeting with the president of French,Qatar and psg executive,they pressurised him to stay even when he wanted to leave ,after a year mbappe decided that the year after wanted to leave the club ,they then blackmailed him and told him to his face that he wasn’t going to play if he didn’t stay ,they also made the president of France involved, it is insane honestly,they made him feel like it was a prison ,that’s why now he is happier and feel liberated.

I think Mbappe has the right to decide whether to extend his contract or not, and has the right to decide the club to move to. He worked for PSG when they paid that half a billion dollars. They also made money selling his souvenirs

Yes, if we’re talking about dropping few millions but that’s a fortune. If you remember also, they actually sat Mbappe the first game of the season, and did very poorly. Only then they changed their mind. That tells me their “Revenge” was gonna fire back and cost them the season.

For we have also seen Paris Saint-Germain perform excellently in a more cohesive manner without Mbappe. In the knock-stages of the Champions League much of the talk was the luck of his influence and decisiveness in those games. He was basically a passenger. (I recall the first game that Kolo-Muani and Ramos played together and they both impacted the game; this was pretty early in the season- it must have been when Ramos got his first goal- Mbappe wasn't playing- during preseason though the team did look lacklustre on goal)

To avoid this impasse teams sell their prized players in the last year of a valid contract, sum1 @ PSG doesn't know the implications of the Bosman ruling. They wanted to own the boy, perhaps that's how players are treated in the Arab world

Maybe Kylian would have stay in Paris, but all foreign CLAN players are were against him , and always chose Marquinhos for captain, but Marquinhos is not good enought and he and Donaruma make a few big mistake in game with Realdrid and Dortmund , and all make that is Mbappe guilty for that.
