pogba and lingard are the best of them academy. they still young.

This is why we must keep this manager. Under a structure that will make sensible transfers, he can also use youth and develop them. If we get rid of ETH I fear we will lose the progress we’ve made with promoting youth players.

madnes people want him out ….. the mess he inherited and clear lack of structure to support a manager in best way is only being implemented now… he’s had to totally change the culture and reinstall the basic ‘old man utd player standards, professionalism and mentality which we haven’t seen in years …. discipline and player power needs stamped out .. he has made couple bad signings and clear to see he only pushed players he knew or from dutch league coz he didn’t trust our scouts ….

Exactly. What is the manager supposed to do in this situation? Try to get a team that’s already in pieces to play a style of football that these set of players had probably never played before? The best he could do is just to grind out the result until the summer. These players let down Rangnick, Ole, Jose and even for some, Van Gaal. They just can’t keep getting away with it

This is why Ole and ten Hag need to be appreciated a lot more, our academy is the heart of our club, and these 2 acknowledged it, and have worked hard to rejuvenate that connection to the furst team. The club better keep ten Hag and focus on improving the resources so that our academy can make us less vulnerable and dependant on transfer market pressures.

@@daltonpolius5238 it's not just about sheer numbers to bloat one's CV. By the time Mourinho left, that pathway was in shambles, including academy development, when Ole was here, they worked on things as mentioned in the video, the next step was to connect the academy with the first team, and the way academy players have been playing since ten Hag has arrived, it looks more in sync with what he wants to develop, sad part is, there are too many players in the first team who are misfits to this, because of which we can't see it in the first team, but credit where credit is due to build a connectivity, it definitely will show its results only if ten hag is given time to refresh the squad over time with academy and right transfer expertise with new structure.

this is the most positive news I have heard about United in so long, it also makes me think that ETH needs to be around for a while longer and also, again another example of the good work Ole did, hugely under rated what he did as manager.

I'm not saying Ten Hag is guaranteed to be a success at man United, but the 2 most successful managers in our history have had 1 thing in common, an emphasis on not only the youth team players but having United play the same way on all levels of the club.

Despite the controversies, a guy who also showed a lot of potential was Mason Greenw00d, it would be interesting to see him at utd again

Thank you for showing us a side of Ten Hag that we are not aware of. Based on this video, Ten Hag is very underrated because it looks like he's focusing building the structure right from the bottom, which is good foundation to support the first team.

Top work as always. Hoping United put the structure in place to make best use of the talent coming through.

Tactically tweaking the youth team to have the same philosophy as Ten Hag's first team is what Klopp has done at Liverpool. This is why Ten Hag is the manager to keep and he will bring success, but it takes time.

MU should keep ETH. The fans should accept that they have to rebuild from scratch and it takes time. As seen on Arsenal with Mikel Arteta, you need time a lot of it to bring what is basically dead club into something exciting with proper system and culture.

Good video but felt Guzman(scout) should of been mentioned as he found Garnacho, along with scouts we poached from Man City at youth level. Guzman btw found Senna, Arda Turan ad Greizman when he worked Spain.

As a Ajax fan that is chronically depressed since EtH left us I can guarantee that if he his given enough time he will make 1 of the best premier league teams in history

Brian McClair, now there's a blast from the past that reminds me how old I am. Robbo, Sparky, Irwin, Parker and the rest - they really were the foundations for the Fergie era. Clayton Blackmore and kids like Sharpe coming up with Becks and the "kids" that are now pundits.

Ok now i have to dissagree with one topic here. "The main goal is not to win the league, but make them ready for the first team". So winning is to print in a winning mentality into the players minds. So with that they are ready and no lack of confidence when they get picked up to the first team. This is VERY, VERY important for the youth players. But other than that a very interesting video. GGMU.

Hopefully ineos and Jim ratcliffe will concentrate on the academy as well as the first team. Omari forson might be one coming into the first team regularly next season. Great video Sam

Great video Sam! I love our baldie, he has his flaws but come on he needs time and our support structure is the shitiest (recruitment, medical and Management). Hoping Sir Jimmy would provide him the structure

I love what we are doing with the academy, especially, Omari Forson, Joe Hugill, Charlie McNeil, Willy Kambawala but sale of Isak Hansen-Aaroen wasn't right for two reasons, he is actually good player and he could have easily fit in the team given injuries we are facing this season in midfield.

Time for a large number of these lads to be graduated into the first team like tha class of 92

on the map why don't you highlight Norway ( Isak Hansen Aaroen ) sure he was part of highly rated youngsters of some of the group that Solskjaer I belive suggested or something to the academy

I remember watching the academy back in Brian McClair era, around mid 00s, and notice how similar the playing style was to the senior team. The formation, the buildup, pattern of play, pretty much every team aspect. I guess United just went back to what they used to be doing, instead of it being a revolutionary thing.
