I'm sensing alot of Korean pride in Kia from DK! In the UK and Europe, we really need EV small hatchbacks, but hey, instead Kia are giving Range Rover a competitor. The interior design ticks every box that VW have managed to get wrong.

Yeah. I think the major problem is that small EVs just dont make much money. So many brands are focusing on these big overpriced things to help pay the tab for the expense of both going EV and losing a chunk of the ICE car sales that were supposed to pay for their last gen platform. I am confident that we will see more smaller cars in the future (perhaps after a big leap in battery technology) but for now this is what is paying for that.

yep Kia has certainly come a long way and are bringing their A-game for sure! My wife and I are leasing a 2022 Kia Sorento right now and in fact lost the bet at the dealership when we first got it cause I was driving and swearing up and down that it was a 6-cylinder engine cause it rode and felt like one and the salesman was like "Nope...it's only a 4! We get that a lot though." On top of that it looks really sharp too! Probably another great EV by Kia, BUT they need to ramp up their production to meet demand and they have to price this just right since their EVs do not qualify for EV credits in NA. The two year waiting list for an EV6 GT is just ridiculous on top of insane dealer markups. Unless Kia is perfectly happy selling their cars only to youtubers and car review journalist!

Look up the old previews for the PlayStation 5 controller, people were losing their minds! To be fair, the top end haptic feedback engines are incredible, indistinguishable from physical buttons but if they used the small ones they stick in phone screens then they will be what everyone expects
@harvey66616
Жыл бұрын
Some people like them. But I am bewildered by the reviewer claiming the haptic feedback "lets you know you pushed the right button". Huh? Yeah, it lets you know you pushed _a_ button, but the _right_ one? You need physical buttons with different shapes/sizes/movements for that. I wish these touch controls would go away and we'd get physical controls back, at least for the commonly used stuff, things you need while driving.
I really like it, will be interested to see how it's equipped in North America and how it ends up being priced. Ideally, I'd prefer physical controls for the AC, but haptics are at least an improvement over the usual touch buttons.
It's going to be smashing success for the U.S. We need more big three row SUVs.

So looking forward to having it in our showroom here in NZ, such a stunning vehicle and KIA is just killing it!
Great looking but then you still have to deal with Kia dealerships where the staff knows little to nothing about EVs and doesn't care to learn and that maybe have 1 or 2 certified techs who may or may not be available because they also work on ICE vehicles and not EVs exclusively. We had a 2019 Kia Niro EV and it was a wonderful little crossover EV but anytime we needed service we had to rely upon one of the two certified techs being available and minor things took all day or even overnight. We own a Tesla Model 3 now and service is leaps and bounds better than any service we have ever received on any of our cars in the past. I realize not all Tesla service centers are the same but ours here in Palm Springs, CA is excellent. Not until the dealerships change their service model and the charging infrastructure for non-Tesla EVs is improved dramatically will we consider any other EV than a Tesla.

Very nice. The interior and controls are great. We really need final numbers on range. For such a massive road trip vehicle I'm not sure high 200s is going to cut it. Ideally 350 miles and up is going to be better. I say this because if you already have to charge it at 80% then you don't get that 20%. Driving dynamics will also decrease but in some case increase efficiency so we'll need to see it tested in the real world. The exterior styling is ok. Really boxy like a Chevy Suburban in my opinion.
