Drove this car a couple of days ago at Fully Charged Live. Didn't particularly go to drive it, just got to the front of the Hyundai queue and said "what can I drive earliest in the day?". First time driving an EV. I think I just ruined my chances of ever being happy in an EV again - nothing will compare. This thing was utterly incredible. Very planted on the road, fastest acceleration of any vehicle i've ever driven, and all of the tech just worked. Everything seemed well thought out, no gimmicks and nothing unnecessary - everything added to my driving experience and safety. Within a mile I felt utterly comfortable driving it. In short, this is my lottery win car.

The EV6 is already somewhat smoother and more aerodynamic than the Ioniq 5, and owners seem to report better efficiency too. Great video Jack and the crew! I really like the Ioniq 6. It feels like something thats not really comparable to the rest of the automotive world. I know this is a far stretch, but the Lexus LC500 is one of those cars for me. Its in a bubble with no real comparable opponents. They are not bothered with competing with the germans or americans. They are something different, thats on another sphere. Its refreshing and interesting.

Great video of the fantastic Ioniq 6. I absolutely love the design of it and have great admiration for what the Hyundai engineers have managed to achieve in terms of efficiency. This car is at the top of my wish list (next is Polestar 2, then Tesla Model 3 and finally Ioniq 5) for when the lease on my Hyundai Kona EV lease ends next May. I am desperately keen to get to see one in a showroom in the UK very soon. If it's as good as you say, (and I've no reason to doubt this), I'm pretty sure the model I'll go for will be the large battery rear wheel drive variant.

The numbers I have is that the Ioniq 6 charges from 10%-80% within 16mins with 200kW on average, whereas the Tesla Model 3 would take 27 minutes for the same cahrging process. The reach of the Model 3 is only slightly better, if I understand the available data correctly. I have no practical experience with Teslas.

Another great review from Jack but did he mention the 800v super-fast charing that the EGMP platform offers? I didn’t hear it. With the ‘6’ offering such levels of efficiency I can see a big market for the ‘small’ battery version. I never drive more than 250 km in a sitting, well within the range even in winter of the 54 kWh battery version when a 10 minute stop to use the bathroom and grab a drink could add another 100 km or more and most journeys are done. If our e-Niro could charge that fast I would happily go for a smaller (and cheaper) battery version.

The last year it was made the flat non-grill was replaced with a big bumpy/textured fake grill that could open to increase cooling. The 6 seems to look A LOT more like a porsche with its sports car like front end, and the similar headlight bulges on the semi-top of the hood just like a Porsche 911, it's also got a more angular front end, with the same air intake grimace that a porsche has as well, instead of the original ioniq's big flat face + 2 holes to the sides. Please can you include rear seat foot space in your reviews. When test driving a few EVs I noticed that many have the front seat close to the floor with no room for your feet under the seat. This means even though there is lots of knee space your legs are in effect locked at one angle making it very uncomfortable on a longer journey. I regularly drive with four adults in the car and so this was important. The Polestar2, Ioniq 5 and EV6 were high on my potential buying list until we sat in the back and there was no foot space. The Ioniq6 looks the same. Not a biggy but may be important to some buyers.
