"Slave Labor" Our companies are the ones that sold out to China. So they could increase their profit margins. By utilizing slave labor in China, and few other countries with zero human rights. In the end. China has terrible manufacturing processes, and will always choose cheap over quality to maximize profits.

There are review videos where 4 passengers gave different commands at the SAME TIME, and within 5 seconds, all 4 commands were being carried out by the Xpeng. Chinese cars are by far the best in the world at voice command software for sure. P7i also has lidar, updated interior, a new fancy heat pump system (accounting for the increased range), and revised suspension tuning, because the first batch of European P7 customers still felt it was too softly sprung. If you already though the P7 chassis drove nicely, the P7i is apparently a pretty significant upgrade, despite the styling not changing too much. IMO they are lethargic about EV's for this main reasons, one oil and ICE motors, they are still owned, dependent on and governed by the oil companies, they have a long list of patents on ICE motors that they don't want to see gone, and lastly they have no real incentive to really compete against China EV's, because they have the insurance that their governments will support them more than they will support China makers. Will Germany let China car makers displace German car makers? NO! Will the USA a oil provider let China EV car makers sell more in USA than USA ICE/EV car makers? NO! When your government has your back, you have no incentive to improve and this is mostly why legacy car makers from Europe and USA are lethargic about EV's.

The single best thing I like about this, is that the manufacturer has included all the "bells & whistles" across the entire range, entry -> luxury. Not hiding 'extra' features behind a subscription, or a 'package upgrade', but across all of them. Sure, have extra power/range, funky doors, sound systems or what-have-you as additional costs. But all the key, every day things you need, want and will actually use on every variant. There is some very good stuff coming out of China these days, and I really hope it is genuinely worrying to the other legacy car makers. Great vid, thank you, folks! :-)

Skoda Eniaq is a sort of SUV/Estate EV hybrid which due to demand is already not in people's car price territory. Don't worry, if demand for Chinese cars rises, the prices rise accordingly to accommodate limited supply, and there will be gone your great value eastern EVs. Do you still remember the crazy prices of some mass-produced mid-range cars during the pandemic when many manufacturers had trouble keeping production levels during chip shortages? There is no rush to produce value EV cars in mass numbers when even midrange offerings are still undersupplied, and when VW finally fix rather affordable ID3 & 4, their reasonable prices will be gone too...

Perhaps XPENG is gone in a few years or maybe they established a decent enough market share to be able to increase prices and make a profit. I guess that's why this car is so cheap: nobody is going to take the risk of buying it when it's as expensive as a known brand.

P7 and G9 in particular are great cars but the one I have my eyes on is the G6 (model Y competitor with better interior and longer range) which should arrive in Europe next year.

Great demo. Xpeng is branding itself in the videos I've seen with the pronunciation, "ex-pung", so a partially Chinese pronunciation. Is that the pronunciation being promoted in Europe? I notice Jack is saying the fully anglicized version, "ex-peng".

@@rebym Yes in Chinese we usually pronounce 'peng' as 'pong', but actually the 'pong' pronunciation is informal. We pronounce 'pong' more often cuz the standard 'peng' pronunciation is a bit hard for many dialect-speaking Chinese.
