I took my family across europe to italy, Germany, san marino and Switzerland 10 years ago in a silver 456. What a road trip, 9 days of V12 ferrari through the italian and swiss alps. Complete with tubi exhaust. Plenty of room for my two sons in the back to. Great car great memories.

The 456 is actually one of my favourite Ferraris. It´s just so beautiful, elegant and discreet. And the spec on that one is pretty close to what i would have. I would have the same colour on the exterior, but have the tan interior. And probably change the wheels to BBS Super RS or LM. Nice video. Keep up the great work.

Yes! It's aged remarkably well compared to the 612 Scaglietti.. A big old NA V12, 4 seats n POP-UP FREAKIN HEADLIGHTS!!! What more could you ask for,eh?

@@TheDatpussy Well that's your opinion. I've seen the Super RS on lots of different cars. But they are known to be put on sports cars from the 80s and 90s in my opinion. So they will look right at home on a 456.

Denis Spratt with the right color yes, those would work but yea as you say imo ive seen too many riced cars where the wheels are more expensive than the car, and it has ruined said wheels for me

I was hopping you wouldn’t tell anyone about the 456. Now everyone knows now the price will start getting further away from me. 😩

Such a great clean and elegant design the 456 has, plus a gated manual and a Ferrari V12, one of my favourites.

Nice video Sam. Like a few other viewers, the 456 is one of my favourites, and I think if you like these you like the Maserati 3200/4200 too. I also like the 612 though.

I have always been a fan of this model.....a grand touring car. Perfect spec with pop ups!!

6:37 This car was obviously a huge inspiration for the styling of the GT4 Lusso, front and rear both share nuances. This is by far it's best angle aswell!

I love that interor so much, its modern looking but not "smartphone" modern, its the perfect era! And it looks amazing too, still fairly simple! This is a Ferrari I can get behind! I always liked the GT cars, front engined GT cars! ...but the 356 Super90... my god, I'd sell many bodyparts to touch that beauty! :D

My dad used to own one of these and this car is just underrated so much. I think as you said this is the last manual V12 4 seater Ferrari and there aren't that many build of I think around 1100 in total

Congrats to the drive! I nearly bought the exact same model in 2014, manual, british racing green tho. Still regret not buying it. Felt like a Miata despite the size/heft! And that engine... Oh dear god.

Love to see you championing the 456 Sam! TDF blue manual 456 is to me what red 360 is to you, the dream that you harbour from the age of 9 or 10! Still want one every bit as much as a 458 or 812 etc!

Always loved the 456. I had a 1:18 model in silver back in the day.

I have always loved the 456. One of my favorites - reminds me of a modern version of some of the classic Ferrari’s, like the 250 SWB or 275. Funny to hear you refer to it as an earlier version of the GTC4Lusso or FF. You (and most of your youtuber pals) need to get studying older cars to have a better sense of reference for these great marques. Great vid though and a really nice spec 456. Rowan Atkinson used to have one in dark metallic green with a raspberry red interior, I seem to remember reading his article about it in ‘Car’ magazine.

I've always loved the 456 ever since it was knew. It's a bit of a tease because it's almost affordable....until the maintenance costs kick in! V12 manual though, it's a win!

I always liked the 456 Ferrari, 12 cylinders and manual transmission! Very cool find! I remember buying a 1/48 scale model of that car back then, same color too! Just beautiful!🥰👍

I grew up in Latvia i almost never saw any supercars, coolest thing as a kid that I saw was wrc cars when we had rallys they would all drive past our road, and then when I was in Riga age 9 i saw a yellow lamborghini murcielago and I completely lost my mind, so when I moved to the UK i was mind blown seeing such nice cars so often like aventador just looked like a spaceship, now I'm more desensitised cause you see them so often haha

Because you've seen how the ff and gtc4 lusso look now , horrible looking cars . The 456 is everything a 2+2 ferrari should be , a car for the more mature person , elegant, subtle and understated with class but with enough power and speed to matter .

Paul Thomson well said. For those reasons the 456 is my favorite Ferrari of all time. More than the Enzo, laFerrari, Italia etc. I'm weird like that.

The 456 is a beautiful car, one of the best ever imo

I used to own a 456 Gt with the beautiful color of Rosso Monza with beige interior. A fantastic car! Unluckily I went of the road with it. (442hp, heavy V12 in the front, old tires, cold tarmac.... Bad combo) Rebuilding it was a real pain, and getting parts for it was almost impossible. Even Ferrari couldn´t help med with a new fog light for my car. The damage wasn´t too bad, but the cost of fixing it was more than cost of the car.

I am a fan, ever since a local businessman in Belfast bought one in Rosso Corsa with tan interior, it was beautiful in Ferrari red and so elegant. One of my favourite Ferrari’s, my mechanic friend did once tell me that a customer needed to replace the bonnet tho and that was £10k back in the early 2000s, yikes!

Riga... where I now live, on the edge of the old town. Absolutely cracking place.

Stickiness of materials was common to many European cars of a certain era. It continued long after this car was replaced. I had a 2011 Jaguar XJ Supercharged with the issue.

When the 456 first came out I absolutely fell in love, effortlessly beautiful lines. Don’t understand why there are not so sort after, maybe it’s the 2+2 configuration??? You should bye one as an investment because I think this individual model will be one of the next cars that the classic car spotlight will shine on, think Dino?? I wish I had a spare 30-40K lying around!!

I love the 456, was released when I was really getting into cars.

I bought one subject to a PPI, which it flunked: bad compression in two cylinders. Always do a PPI.

I almost purchased one as my first Ferrari, but ended up going for the 575M Maranello first. I still think its a great car and undervalued though

I often say the 456 is a criminally underrated car.

One of the prettyest modern ferraris in my eyes, have you seen the clarkson video of a ferrari test driver "testing" it until the engine grenades at firano, pretty sure it was an identical spec, worth a watch

I agree a fab potential purchase but after a review Forza magazine did, I was put off by the potential for costly maintenance. The M version attempted to correct the early car’s faults. When first built this was a mainly handbuilt flagship model. Ferrari produced a video of how they constructed them. Having had a costly to service Mondial T where the engine has to come out on services, this might be fractionally cheaper! Maybe worth a purchase!

The gauges look very 2000 e39 M5. the 456 is way underrated. Tough to find manuals in the US and the auto 456 is a dog.

V12, manual transmission, pop-up headlights! Magic mix!!! Reminds me of my dads BMW E31 850csi, 1510 units built worldwide and guess what, it tickes all boxes aswell! 5.6 Litre V12, 6-gear manual transmission and pop-up headlights! The 90’s were such a cool era with bold an crazy designs that unfortunately we will probably never see again. Both the 456M GT or the 850csi are great examples of how a Gran Turismo/Cruiser should be!

I've always wanted one in black with tinted windows, and take all the Ferrari badges of the exterior of the car so you can't tell what it is, and drive it around as if it's a normal car that no one has any clue what it is so you don't draw attention to yourself.

This Ferrari looks fantastic. I love the pop up front lights, I think we are missing that nowadays. It is not that expensive, still very attractive for a 20 years old car. The down side of it is that it is far from being an eco friendly car with its 570 gr/CO2 per km. In Belgium to put it back on the road you will have to pay nearly 3000 euro (TMC 500 euro for a more than 15 years + 2500 euro (eco malus)) + a yearly 2200 euro ! With that the car is not yet ensured not fueled. That being said it is a awesome car !

456 in manual is nice Sam; no doubt. Just expensive engine work if required. Now the Ferrari 612 on the other hand is not so nice IMO.

I can honestly say I have never heard of that Ferrari.

AVI and farshad was just talking about the sticky buttons in the Maserati quattroporte!

When i was a kid the 456GT was the pinnacle of Ferrari, i remember the Performance Car magazine twin test where it was put up against the Aston Martin Vantage (twin supercharged V8 manual, which was about the most expensive car on sale). Today the AMV is selling today over £200K albeit low milers.... so it really makes no sense why the 456 is such a low value. 5 years ago you could pick up 550 marenello & 575M for 50 60 k now the same cars are pushing 100k..

i've never heard of this model. Literally this car is elegant and cool and classy at the same time. Why this car is less famous then the other ferrari?

Most of the ones for sale have only been driven 1,500 miles a year. Seems to me like there must be a reason for that. There are only 3 on Cars.com in the US and they range from 20k miles to 38k miles. I will never understand Ferrari owners. I will continue to drive my 996 10k miles a year and love every minute of it.

Beautiful car beautiful color combination I like Ferraris red with black or tan interior but I would love to have that car very elegant.

A Pinanfarina masterpiece, one of the few Ferraris you can drive without feeling like a bit of a dick, and relatively speaking it's as cheap as chips. And it's a V12, what a no brainer.

456's with a manual gearbox are quite common, nothing collectable about them. This is also a very early model with a non-airbag steering wheel.

I have to say, that's a pretty cool Ferrari!

Me too! Im 32 now if I work hard enough I might be able to get one by 40.... Personally I think they will be stable for a while, being that they are one of the "unloved" Ferraris.
