This Is Not The Same Anthony Edwards

Спорт

Anthony Edwards is starting to build a nice track record of being a playoff superstar, but what is it that makes him such a dominant postseason player?

I'm a budding fan for the timberwolves and have watched nearly every timberwolves or ANT video breakdown. It's easy to see a lot of effort went into this video and I especially appreciate you pointing out the weak parts of his game. It really heightens my enjoyment watching the game and knowing what to look for and get excited about. Favorite and most well made video I've come across.

A lot of analysts said ANT had a bad game in game 2 vs. the Suns. I went to the game. He didn't have a bad game. Yes, his points were lower, but his assists were up from his average, and 3 of his assists in a row were for 3 (pass to the strong side corner). In addition, he was picking Beal up at full court, or playing a suffocating defense on Booker. He had a GOOD game on defense, and too many people were focused on the box score. He helped feed McDaniels to get him going.

While Ant’s scoring in particular his pullup shooting was very impressive in this series against the suns. What really impressed me was his playmaking yes his turnovers per game was higher than they need to be going forward he was processing passing windows way faster than we’ve seen in the past.

Some passes were on the money but some were late or too fast which led to a turnover. It’s crazy to me this dude is only 22 and he’s already doing things like this. Denver has no rim protection just like Phoenix and that's a concern. However, Denver rebounds far better than Phoenix and rebounding is what ultimately killed Phoenix. If Ant takes out Denver that will be very impressive. Somehow I don't think Jokic is going to allow that. Regardless, Minnesota versus Denver is the rivalry of the future. And the winner gets to play OKC. Wow. The West is stacked with young talent, including Wemby who just needs a few pieces around him. Exciting times if you're a true fan.

In every post game interview, he goes out of his way to shout out his teammates, his coaches, their playmaking, their defense. He has all the confidence in the world, but has coupled it with true leadership. I personally feel that Mike Conley has been an amazing mentor to him, and it shows in his outstanding confidence coupled with leadership and professionalism. Being exceptionally strong and exceptionally quick at the same time, that's very MJ like, a young MJ doesn't cross you over, he simply run past you. However Ant didn't "get that from day 1", if you can remember, his rookie season he got a lot of questioning, because he is not big enough to play like that, Ant grew 2 inches after that, which solves the problem, that is not a common occurrence, most players don't grow into a role, they change styles.

Giving his team props every single time and backing up his words through his play. I hope he will cook Jokic in pick n roll, paint play and use Kats offensive prowess to tire out Joker. That'll be big in winning the next series. And also he will probably guard Murray in clutch time and lock him up. If these dudes win the next series, imma be hella happy!

Great video, I can give a little context to whether the playoff 3 point shooting is chance or not. If you assume Ant’s shooting abilities don’t improve in the playoffs, there’s about a 20% chance he could have shot this well in the playoffs just out of luck. In the statistics world, that’s what we call “statistically insignificant”, so we can’t draw any conclusions about his playoff 3 point shooting yet. He’s still an incredible player though, and he really balled out against the Suns

Hv ant in the postseason and reg season are two completely different caliber of players so where would u rank him because it’s truly a weird case. If u look at his reg season bpm and playoff bpm it’s crazy cuz this is the second year where he went from 2 and 3 in the reg season to 10.5 and 10.7 bpm in back to back years

It’s all mental. He got the number five this year - a number that he has been wearing all his life. A little biter of placebo definitely helps lol

Aaron Gordon is the right primary defender when it comes to guard Anthony Edwards because he has that height advantage over him and he has size and athleticism that can help in his defense

Question in your opinion why does Ant's pull up shooting get so much better in the playoffs? Once Ant masters his pull up shooting consistency and improves on his playmaking, he will be a superstar.

I've been telling this from Day one: He is basically the second coming of DWade, only slightly worse defender. Although his jumpshot has far higher ceiling than DWade's ever did.

I wonder if AnT will be the first player to crack that MJ Triple clutch air reverse against the nets. I believe if he can’t he will get the closest to mimic that move

Edwards reminds me alot of Young kobe, People who watched him in the mid 90s know at 1 point kobe was a pure slasher or just known as a dunker, Just like Ant man, as the years went on they added weapons to they're arsenal. Kobe in his young days was a step above everyone athletically just like Ant is. Ant progression is only rivaled by players like kobe imo.
