@@GIO-oo8vl I know, I can't believe it either. They summoned evil demons and murdered someone AGAIN just to spark excitement in the slumber party. Like, it's starting to get annoying and unoriginal. It's not a good trick to use in throwing a slumber party. They didn't even bother to bring out the snacks, not even the classic game where the one who loses gets sacrificed and sent to the monster realm to suffer for eternity.

*things break, light goes out, camera goes wack, creepy laughter with a trail of blood on the floor.* Protag: "This is very clearly a joke."

_Are we alone?_ Using a ouija board is like throwing a party and then having to deal with all the uninvited party crashers showing up. This was pretty creative. I liked the freedom to choose different names to get the different outcomes. I felt the ending with the mother ghost was probably the most surprising and freaky.

@@Thelothuo It could make for a pretty entertaining comedy of errors, between the medium being too inexperienced to realize what's happened, the ghosts arguing over the planchette/medium, and the disconnected answers to questions they all give to the querent when it's their turn. The contrast between the oblivious living and the contentious dead could make for a modern comedy of manners, as well. I like it!

Pretty fun horror game, I do appreciate just how crazy Hana gets once it's obvious that she's evil. The protagonist's sheer level of ignorance is slightly maddening, but that's the case for many horror games so you just have to roll with it here.

I didn't think it was that maddening, since it's already established that Takeo sees this in a very realistic point of view, so it made sense that he trusted his friend more than any doubts or suspicion of what might be paranormal. I myself would've reacted the same up until the last ending honestly, and it isn't as if he didn't believe that the paranormal wasn't real without ground evidence since it was usually the camera scenes that made him believe at that point, he just needed something other than his own vision since again, he's probably going to consciously think that it's a 'psychological reaction'. And ironically, him trusting Hana in every situation is a psychological reaction too. You unconsciously do things when you're scared, and one of them is hanging on on what you perceive is comforting, even if there's a possibility that it isn't. It isn't as if the protagonist was aware that he's in a horror game or that Hana was a deranged lunatic, all he knew was that it potentially might be fake since sheer coincidences of the light disappearing and Hana suddenly missing isn't enough to establish paranormal activity. It should be enough to have doubts, though the protagonist was doomed the moment he exhibited the psychological reaction and pushed this narrative of reality.

Asking a ghosty if we’re alone makes as much sense as asking someone if they’re asleep. If a ghost answers “yes,” then obviously you’re not alone because a ghost just answered your question. Unless the sleeping person in question talks in their sleep, the person responding “yes” to if they’re asleep is just as redundant because you have to be awake in order to answer. Unless again they talk in their sleep

But you don't know if they are asleep, or if there is a ghost. So it's a question you ask, knowing you'll either get a "no" or a lack of an answer. However it invites the person to make themselves known. Yes isn't always the answer your looking for, "No" means a lot as well. If I may ask, how would YOU inquire if a sleeping person is asleep, or if there is a ghost in the room.

If they answer you they’re not asleep. Duh🙄 And if some unknown force answers your question then regardless of what you ask they’re clearly there. A ghost saying no they’re not there is completely redundant if just by answering the question shows the ghost is there. Again duh🙄 Why would I ask an obviously sleeping person if they’re asleep?😹 And no matter what I ask a ghost, any response a ghost makes will show they’re there. A “yes” or “no” answer isn’t complicated or deep. You’re either one or the other. It’s not that deep. Especially if you’re asking simple questions. “Are you here? Yes or no?” That ain’t deep. And again anything a ghost would answer will tell you they’re there

bruh y'all need to learn some power moves you don't even ask if they're there, you just say it "i know you're there, don't bother hiding" if someone's there, you can bet they're scared now, and you're now in control of the situation if there isn't, nobody heard you talking to thin air, so nobody will think you're paranoid

Maybe that's why she bought the Ouija Board. She craves something new, doesn't she? Loads of Japanese schoolchildren play Kokkuri-san, so it wouldn't really be new for a high school student (as I'm interpreting Hana to be) to play, compared to the highly similar but exotic Ouija.

Aww the characters designs are actually kinda cute in that 3D design.

I really like that Mr. Manly takes the time to actually find all the endings. I appreciate that. I randomly found his channel just recently and I enjoy it and his humor thus far. ✌️😊

Ok, I was gonna say how the graphics/polygonal style reminds me a lot of a ps1 childhood game, "Incredible Crisis", but then the girl goes and call the other guy "Takeo", the same name as the father from that ps1 game. It can't be a coincidence, lmao

Watching ManlyBadassHero has single handedly made me more paranoid of anime girls than horror movies could make me paranoid of the supernatural.

Honestly, Toby is cute! He doesn't have a super scary face, and apparently he just wants friends! Unfortunately, other people being too loud or acting too nervous or irraticly makes him upset, and that causes him to kill the person. (And then maybe absorb them? I just get that vibe.)

"I almost had a heart attack" --"I just had one". Right!? Manly is always on point with the commentary, references, and puns. This man is the most entertaining youtuber to watch for video games.

It certainly seems like there'd be something for putting in one of the names it gives you. Like outright saying 'Hana'. Maybe not a full fledged ending bit, but at least some commentary. But given gamejam time constraints, I can see it ending up not being stuck in.

MC: where did you come from? Manly spooky voice: The interneeeet.....

Moral of the story: respect the spirits and never use them as jokes or games, praying for their souls to get to heaven and never play ouji board at your place- who knows if you invited the friendly or aggressive ghosts

Ouija boards can also be found at Toys R Us when those stores were still around.

Despite what the characters say, ouija boards _are_ sold as toys in toy shops… saw them in one of my local toy stores: Toy World. Whatever you may believe in, I warn you to _never_ play around, touch, use a ouija board. They’re _not_ a toy, and they never will be.

Since they name drop Exorcist, I wonder what happens if you put in Pazuzu as the name.

Question: Does anything unusual happen if you enter in Hana or Takeo as a name?

I can never get my Ouija Boards to work right. All I ever get is a repeated message spelling out "F", "U" repeatedly every time I use it X/

In my opinion, the three general answers: Good, Mary/Michael/Peter (one of the saints), Heaven, should trigger a secret ending.

I kinda thought this was a pretty fun and interesting idea espiccely if ya could like expand on the cha ra caters reactions at diffrent answers to questions like "where your from" instead of just horror movie cliche "hell or heaven" but maby "helheim" or the greek underworld stuff like that and see how each character mentally takes that fun game idea!
