The symbiote has some pretty unsettling art for being such a helpful little dude. Edit: nevermind. Just watched game 1. The art is appropriately terrifying.

Yeah it's the old cards that let you "seek" some elves or just cast them from the top of your library. MH3 didn't bring anything new to the table unfortunately =(

Putting Morning Mood over the deck going absolutely nuts was just beautiful.

The first game was unbelievable... that was the comeback of the year for the elf deck.

I also watch Davis sometimes. Kinda sucks he waited for the whole combo and then just conceded. Content creators usually know to let the opponent hit you.

A crater hoof would still be useful regardless of your elves not having haste. The hoof itself would still get massive

I mean if you have enough elves out you won't need that many to attack with to trample through and crater hoof is hasted.

When I first started playing I didn't know the rules very well and anything was basically legacy to us i remember the symbiote had a few combos

"That should be enough.....Well, I'll cast another symbiote."

At 33:00 untapping the priest actually makes more mana since opponent has double servant out

I'd splash black for tyvar (the planeswalker from MoM) so the dorks can immediately tap for mana and shaman of the pack to occasionally oneshot oppos out of nowhere

As someone who hasn't played mtg since cards like Grizzly Bears or Giant Octopus were a thing, I have no idea what happened in that first game lol

If the land were a Forest I would be more into it, but as I mention in the intro having Castle enter tapped is a disaster. And if I have to choose between the two I would take Castle, as the extra mana is very useful.

Do you think one copy of Finale of Devastation could slot into this deck? It seems like the best way to buff your team and give them haste since in theory you should be able to generate 12 mana pretty easy.

That's one of the cards that ended up getting cut to make room for the new cards. It's certainly a consideration for this deck as there are lots of great options to choose from. In a meta where you expect a lot of hand disruption and removal I prefer including more cards that are individually powerful and Dwynen's Elite tends to be one of the weaker cards when the game doesn't entirely go according to plan.

Too bad Allosaurus Shepherd isn't modern legal and it's not going to be reprinted in mh3...

Something I didn't recognize and actually don't think LegenVD did either is that Priest of Titania taps for green for ALL Elves, not just yours. In that last game since the opponent had 2 elves it was actually tapping for 2 more mana than the Archdruid was.

Yeah, Wirewood Symbiote is pretty much essential. It was already one of the staples in most Elf decks back when they were played in Legacy. Quirion Ranger could be an alternative, but it's not available in Arena.

@@LegenVD Yeah, it kind of does (now that I watched some)... Freyalise (the planeswalker) is probably much slower, while Indtruder Alarm is probably better, but Timeless-only for Arena.
