This Combat Vehicle SHOCKED The World. Insane Power of CV-90. The CV-90 is a highly versatile Swedish Infantry Fighting Vehicle designed the tackle the harsh Scandinavian landscape. It has spawned a family of IFVs, the most recent of which has been used to help Ukrainian efforts in defending their country. For almost 30 years now it’s been the jewel in Sweden’s military crown and there’s no sign of this IFV going anywhere soon. In fact, it’s likely we’ll see the next iteration of the vehicle in the next few years. Let’s take a look at this Swedish fighting machine.

    Me too. I was one of the luckier in storm that got this vechichle for testing and improving in 94. I was in the Norwegian cavalry and we got 4 of them. I was so lucky to be one of those that got training on it. Ended up as commander but had training as a shooter first. And what people shouldn't forget is that formidable force of the eight soldiers its carrying in the back. They are carrying the same firing power as a normal infantry platoon with its RFK team and machine gun team. 👍

    CV 90 is the best capability balanced IFV available. It's not too big or too small. Armoured enough for its role but not too heavy. It occupies the Goldie Locks zone for IFVs. It also packs one hell of a punch 👊. There will be vehicles that exceed it in certain capabilities but always at the expense of others. Whereas CV90 is the best balanced of them all! Do you agree?

We would also have a state of the art production facility on Tyneside, with all the service support and export potential it brings. Along with the potential to boost production when needed, read - wartime contingency planning. There could be all manner of variants under development by BAE specifically for GB use. Close air defence, mortar, 105/120mm direct fire support, ambulance, signals, REME recovery vehicle etc. All home produced and BAE owned.

    I am wondering how an updated version of the Strv 103 would fare in a combat environment like Ukraine. By the time it is retired all evaluations are based on tank vs tank operations. Possibly it would be less vulnerable to asymmetric warfare than T-72s. Of course, many things would depend on the type of updates, possibly adaptation of chobham armour (or better like Epsom), increase in situational awareness, and of course, tank fielding philosphy.

Love the CV90 & Hope The AJAX & Brad's Get the New 6'th Gen Spike too, I Know the AH-64's Are using it instead of the Long Range Hellfire So that right there speaks volumes And the Fact if its a blue or blue it can be Aborted mid flight So having a Company of CV-90's with the 120 MBT Role & the 30Mike Mike Auto cannons with 8 men in the rear and Having the rest with Anti- Done , AT Helicopter & Missile protection is a Huge Leap Forward in capabilities And i think they all come with the Throop as standard and we see how Amazing that is working is Gaza , Smacking the shit out of all RPG's & FPV attacks so this Really did Shock the world in 2017 in been able to do as many roles as it can and very good at them All which is very Rare.

    Where does the number 90 come from however? Its like our Glock 17's in the Swedish military , a Glock 17 has nothing to do with the number 88, Glock 17 in our military is named pistol 88. Glock 17 came out in 1982, and orginal its powered in 9mm parabellum now there is a vast range of different ammo types for a Glock 17, but none of them have anything to do with "88" i get why people ask questions about the name on the cv90 as there is no single explanation why its called that, other countries military hardware make some sense when it comes to naming, the leopard 1 came before the leopard 2. So did the tiger 1 before the tiger 2. Swedish military names makes no fking sense at all most of the times, the only vehicle hardware that makes sense to me is "Archer" that shit is new and has no real identical counterpart what so ever, and it doesent have numbers in the name, stridsvagn122 doesent make any sense either as its just a leopard 2 with som upgraded hardware

  • @WingcommanderLuna

    @WingcommanderLuna

    5 ай бұрын

    @@jimmiekarlsson4458 the Glock 17 was introduced for Swedish military service around 1988 hence Pistol 88. Strv 122 means the second tank with a 120mm gun introduced into service, the first was the Leopard 2A4 's aka Strv 121 leased from Germany. The CV-90 are actually called CV-9040 for the 40mm gunned version. International 35mm equipped ones are called CV-9035. The huge number of items and systems labeled with '90' in Sweden was due to the major upgrade of many things military around 1990. For example uniform m90, CV-90 IFV, ksp 90, air base type 90 and so on. So any gun used in a combat vehicle, not rifle or pistol, uses the calibre as part of the designation. Strv 103 was the third tank using 105mm gun, strv 122 is the second using 120mm. Artillery however, does not use the vehicle designation system. They use the same kind of designation sequence as for small arms. Archer is 'Artillerisystem 08', for the year it was decided to buy it. Its predecessor was 'Fälthaubits 77' or field haubits 77.

    The war in Ukraine shows that when things get serious quantity still beats quality. I think we will see the return of the light tank, rebranded IFV. With active protection, drones and ATGMs, and the more expensive, more valuable MBT’s just sniping from a distance, the IFV/light tanks will do most of the work.

    Still no modern thinking. You sit and look in a lyb, a small screen. No high scraps on the amunition. Cannon moves inside a small area. Electronics are ok, but should be improved in view of various very eFective hand weapons that easily knock out these monsters. Closed: Much that should be improved. A brand new model and not further development !!!

    Id say, strap a box with a baloon and 4K kamera attached to it and 15 spares and the thing could keep an eye out for what is around it very cheaply AND use an integrated drone. Learn from the Ukrainians amazing ingenuity using shit budget but creativity to success AND use high tech drones. Shit, a box with 5 commercial 360 angle drones in a cardboard box with a high def camera glued to the top of a donkey would make an amazing capability. No one expects the Spanish...donkey to be...you see what I mean Makes a real difference.

    The US Military's new Minimally Manned Infantry Combat Vehicles requirement was for only 6 fully loaded combat troops. If you put 10 or more soldiers plus 3 crew in 1 vehicle and that vehicle gets destroyed it immediately becomes a mass casualty event. Smaller number of troops per vehicle with more vehicles is much more survivable and sustainable in near peer future combat.
