    AYO I WORKED ON THIS MOVIE I never thought anyone would see it and production was as much of a shitshow as you would think. Some fun facts for interested parties: Scott would make us watch him do magic tricks at lunch. Roddy Piper was super nice and drank a shitload of diet coke. Half the crew had a background in Christian films, the other half had a background in either horror or porn. Made for an interesting dynamic 😂😂 Also I'm the dude in the background of the soup kitchen scene and the missing dude in the black shirt lol

    I love that Schmitty is the “bad twin” when he literally is making valid points. Like going to church doesn’t make you a good person and not going to church doesn’t mean you don’t believe in god or are a bad person. Alex is just angry at him for no reason. It literally is black and white with him.

    The funniest thing to me is that the interview scene with the little girl who “died and went to Heaven” is obviously based on the book “Heaven is for Real,” which claimed to be a true story, and the irl kid (Colton Burpo) who apparently died and told stories about Heaven recently confessed that it was all made up by his parents and they ordered him to say things so they’d get famous (and it worked because Christians are the most gullible people on the planet).

    The lady donating all her money to the church made me think of my grandma. She and her husband and her kids all were farmers. Well my grandma retired she just decided that she would keep enough for her to live in a home and donate the rest to the LDS church. Including all the land. Nevermind the fact that my uncle's literally worked every day on that land FOR HER their whole lives on the agreement that they would get it in the will. She just gave it away and then basically told them that they shouldn't get handouts in life. Screwed their work experience over too.

    @@James817lol Hoffman was left to rot in the bathroom in Saw 3D (aka Saw 7), we never actually see him die. Since his cameo appearance in the Saw X post-credits sequence proves that Costas Mandylor is clearly up for returning to the franchise, my guess is the next movie will feature him pretty prominently, either revealing that he escaped the bathroom like Dr Gordon and Eric Matthews before him, or more likely by using the same flashback technique that has allowed them to keep Kramer in every movie despite him dying like 7 movies ago. Also Amanda died in Saw III, moments before Kramer himself. That was one of the big twist reveals of that movie, that the test was hers all along and she failed it, getting shot by the other test subject as a result.

    @@oliverholmes-gunning5372 oh yeah i forgot about that, i tend to not remember parts 3 and 7 that much because i think theyre the worst out of all of the movies. also saw x takes place in between parts 1 and 2, so 11 might also be a flashback, which means that he could still be dead. also it makes more sense, the guy who put him there probably knew not to let 3 people out of the shit room, and added some sort of babyproofing system. at least i hope he died, I think hoffman is the least intriguing out of the 3 killers, especially in part 7 when he just stops using traps and loses his last bit of morality, and just kills random people, pretty much defeating the entire purpose of his character.

  • @oliverholmes-gunning5372

    @oliverholmes-gunning5372

    @@James817lol I'd agree re 7 being awful, but I quite like 3 myself. I'd rank it almost exactly in the middle personally (for me Saw X, Saw, and Saw II are top-tier, Saw VI, Jigsaw, and Saw III are upper-end middle-tier, Saw IV and Saw V are lower-end mid-tier and Spiral and Saw 3D are bottom-tier). I'd say Hoffman will almost certainly be in 11, there would have been very little point getting him back for a 5-second post-credits cameo if it wasn't to tease his appearance in the next film. Also I think they confirmed that 11 will be a direct sequel to X, establishing a new prequel timeline that runs tangential to the original movies, which means that it will have to take place sometime between the first movie and part III. Hoffman is a psycho, sure, but he never really pretended otherwise- as soon as Kramer was no longer there to rein him in you could see that he was going to start playing his own game, so him just randomly killing people to save himself doesn't really feel like a betrayal of his character arc for me (hell, his entire origin story involved ripping off the Jigsaw murders for his own personal ends in the first place). He's a selfish schemer out for his own ends who clearly gets off on the torture element more than Kramer does, but at least he's consistent about this. Amanda is my least favourite of the 3 personally- for starters I never felt she really earned her place as Kramer's no.2 (her test was bullshit for one, all she had to do was kill a man she thought was already dead), and (unlike Hoffman, who was clearly out for himself from the start) becomes religiously devoted to Kramer's rules and philosophy only to throw it all away at the drop of a hat and start designing inescapable traps for no real apparent reason beyond some kind of mental instability. And I can't stand her whining, jealousy and insecurity throughout the whole of Saw III; obviously it's a very important plot point since the entire twist relies on it being her test because Kramer no longer trusts her to act objectively, but still, it makes her really hard to engage with as a character. Even in Saw X when she had the chance for redemption as one of the "good guys" (more or less) she doesn't really do anything besides follow Kramer around like a puppy dog. Idk maybe I just have more respect for confirmed psychos who spread destruction on their own terms than I do for overemotional, brainwashed cult slaves, but for the above reasons alone I always preferred Hoffman to Amanda. Kramer himself I have a complicated relationship with as a character. On the one hand I despise his hypocrisy- he presents himself as some kind of high-and-mighty moral arbiter with a strict code of ethics, but deep down his moral code is completely inconsistent, since it causes the death or severe endangerment of completely innocent people- for example he was all upset about the innocent child being placed into the trap in Saw X, apparently forgetting that he himself had instructed an equally innocent child, Dr Gordon's daughter, to be executed as punishment if Gordon failed to complete his own game in Saw 1. He also claims that everyone is given an equal chance, but that's clearly not true (many of the traps are far easier to escape than others- some involve merely breaking a few fingers, while others involve extreme self-mutilation and near-death). He also claims never to kill anyone, but- leaving aside the very shaky "guns-don't-kill-people-do" nature of that argument for a moment, many of the traps he sets are competition traps which means that no matter what happens someone is definitely gonna die as a result of his actions. He also claims to be entirely free of personal motive, but it's obvious that he's a total narcissist who surrounds himself with devoted disciples and can't stand when someone else takes credit for his work. Finally, his motives are completely inconsistent- in some movies his victims are people who simply don't appreciate life, while in others he acts more like a vigilante making people pay for crimes or transgressions they've committed (I guess we can put that last one down to lazy writing). Personally I subscribe to the fan theory that it was Kramer's tumour that turned him into Jigsaw (a la Charles Whitman), which would explain not only his apparent inability to grasp the inconsistencies of his philosophy but also why a man with no criminal record or history of instability would suddenly develop homicidal tendencies in his fifties far better than the "survived a suicide attempt" canon explanation which never made any sense to me. On the other hand, Tobin Bell's performance is so charming and the character is so much fun that I just can't help but quite like him in the way I like, say, Hannibal Lecter or the Joker. Saw X definitely helped in that of course by repositioning Kramer as the hero of the movie and making his actions a lot more justified, but even before then there was something about the ingeniousness of his traps and coolness of his demeanour that I found very compelling (I've always had a bit of a flair for showmanship myself). And so despite really not wanting to like him, I end up kind of doing so whenever I rewatch the movies.

After around take 5, I decided to say something goofy with each take and make her laugh. They didn't like that and I got kicked off the set, even though I was supposed to be in a few more scenes. I swear we spent the whole day shooting that scene. It was so incredibly mismanaged

    Upon further inspection, I’m thinking “good and evil. Couldn’t be could he?” Given the context of God is not dead being the conversation, that phrase would somewhat make sense

    I think what the unintelligible guy was saying was “good and evil, hey look at me” I’m not sure though
