if anything his title is an advantage at this point. His opponents will underestimate his abilities. Great talent.

@viorry1829

@@jadezee6316it does give him an advantage tho. Maybe won't make his opponent underestimate him, but rather, make them feel the pressure of having to win because GMs can't lose to FM. Like a psychological trick
Ivan showed incredible patience in this win, very nice.

Apparently the defeat was so crushing that at the end of the game, Fedoseev changed his first name to Ivan.
I mean he is 2500+ basically GM level

Even with a rating of 2500 norms are still difficult to get. But he's definitely strong, no argument about that

« Really suspicious, let’s go the procedure » 😂
Fantastic chess game. Thank you for sharing ☺️
I'm getting some conflicting information. One source says, "to become GrandMaster attaining the title of International Master (IM) is essential." And then "Elo chess rating of at least 2500 at one time and three favorable results (called norms) in tournaments involving other Grandmasters, including some from countries other than the applicant's." So if someone can clarify, I would like to know...
@PsyloJ

It is possible to become a Grandmaster without ever having been an International Master. Larry Christiansen of the United States (1977), Wang Hao of China, Anish Giri of the Netherlands, Olga Girya of Russia (2021) and former world champions Mikhail Tal of the Soviet Union and Vladimir Kramnik of Russia all became Grandmasters without ever having been IMs. Bobby Fischer of the United States attained both titles solely by virtue of qualifying for the 1958 Interzonal (IM title) and 1959 Candidates Tournament (GM title), only incidentally becoming IM before GM. The more usual path is first to become an IM, then move on to the GM level.

You need a rating of 2500 and you need 3 gm norms and I think you need to be a IM first but that’s much easier but not easy

You need 3 tournaments and rating, the title below is not required. You can also gain GM title if requirements are not met. World chess senior champion and candidate winner/champion challenger (maybe something more) are achievments that grant you GM title.

write pls under the title what year and what tournament...
why is it that everytime we see fedoseev, he's conceding a masterpiece?
Will probably get his IM and GM title pretty soon. A great game.

#suggestion Sina Movahed is 13 years old and he had 5 wins in the row in Sharjah challengers.
What about queen to F1?
Kramnik tweeted "Interesting".
Of course.. GM s are also playing vhess😂
That's wild. A 14 yo making a 2700 rated player shuffle pieces around because his only strategy at that point is waiting to see what his opponent will do to him next.

Ya it was totally logicless. Moving your major pieces to the a file, and then blocking it. Also he never brought his b7 bishop back to g2. Could have avoided so many mating threats. May be it was a matter of ego. Fedoseev didn't like to admit that yes bishop to b7 was a faulty move.
He can be the first world champion in modern times with the title of Grandmaster. He does not have to strive for or accept the Grandmaster title.
#suggestion one of the games of Yağız Kağan Erdoğmuş who has recently broken the record of Judith Polgar. He set the new highest rating ever reached (2570 ELO) before the age of 13.

Correct pronunciation of the name "IvAn" - stress falls on the second syllable like "i-vhA-n"
You should do a video on a 17-year-old from Iran with a rating of 2585 who won the tournament and tied for 1st. Seriously
Interesting...
If vladimir had 3 minutes on clock while iwan had 1 minute, why the hell not exploit your time advantage playing out your opponent by time? Iwan still had to checkmate and theres the propability he would not in time...😮

… because Ivan was completely winning with a clear plan. He could win the game with 20 seconds. He’d probably make at least 30 moves under 1 minute and there is probably increment anyway
