    Engines play hundreds of games. It's statistically probable that a banger of a game will eventually happen, but most games actually end in a draw, and you can't even analyse engine games, because human understanding of chess compared to the engine is nowhere. There's nothing interesting about it, which is why human chess is still popular and the best chess players make millions of dollars a year just from sponsors, even though any engine can crush Magnus in 20 moves.

  • @reun1clus

    @reun1clus

    15 күн бұрын

    @@ilijavxx not really... the top chess players know chess theory in the most common lines over 20+ moves. I'm only around 2000 and i know some lines in the spanish and italian up to around 14 moves. in a chess 960 game, yes, but unless engines play completely crazy openings, they aren't crushing Magnus in 20 moves

  • @ilijavxx

    @ilijavxx

    15 күн бұрын

    @@reun1clus But the number of moves isn't my point. It's just a reference. If not in 20, than in 30 moves. The point is that human chess is still interesting even though any engine can crush the best human in any time format easily. If this wasn't the case, chess on a professional level would have died.

    Both bishops, both rooks, and the queeen...ALL pointing at the black King! The ultimate in piling on. Even the "Alekhine's Gun" formation was too weak for Stockfish's liking, preferring a more sophisticated crossfire in his orchestration of pieces. And notice how despite the absolute crushing position Koivisto was having to defend against, it had no problem finding defensive resources that would be immediately winning for it, were it going up against a mortal opponent. Amazing moves.

    We cannot comprehend the power of these engines. As agad mentioned in his previous videos, those engine rating is obtained by playing other super strong engines. If engines were to play humans their ratings would be a lot more than 3500 😅

So Stockfish will be the best player in history up till now, however, compared to all future engines it will never win and could have the lowest ELO rating possible, in that future competitive environment.

    Dear Agadmator, I think it's interesting to know that this game had already been played by two humans up to move 20!! In the game Plachetka-Rolletschek, Austrian Team Championship 1994/95, there followed 20.Qc3 Qf6= with complete equal game.

    If I had been playing instead of Stockfish, I would have repeatedly blundered from a winning position. Even while I was watching the moves, I kept picking the wrong moves. The strength of these engines is just unbelievable, and they're a joy to watch.

    Scary! What a game....I kept shaking my head in amazement for the last 7-8 moves stockfish was able to find. Thank you Agad for explaining the rationale for Blacks defensive moves....it would have gone completely over my head otherwise. I reiterate ....what a game! This deserves a Morphy head but played at level 10 if Morphy was a 5 or 6!

    Your warning that it would be hard to go back to human chess after this was accurate. I should've known better than to watch as soon as the Evans Gambit was on the board! Knowing you'll never achieve anything close to this beauty is kinda gut-wrenching.

    This video is putting a question into my mind: If Stockfish is given the ability to be aware of the limitations of its opponent (for instance in this game, knowing that Koivisto is a program with 3432 rating, some details of how it operates, and what hardware is running it), could Stockfish take these details into consideration when making a move -- in other words, leaving room for the possibility of making a slightly inferior move, and calculating that such a hypothetical move could "complicate" the position for the opponent, leading to extra processing time or the consumption of more resources, and thus, more time, which may hurt the opponent's performance later in the game? Or have all modern engines moved past the point where time and processing constraints have any major impact, and at this point the only relevant factor is how good the engine is?

    Um not necessarily they can try paying attention and marvel at incredible moves and maybe learn something the funny thing is I was watching a video from Gotham today two 400 elo players those games are hysterical and entertaining in their own way Blunderfest watching the one player that had mate in one move so many times eventually lose all his pieces and the game
