It took me 4 moves to beat the mechanical Turk and I pre-moved all of them they were: pawn E4 Bishop C4 queen H5 then queen f7 (you take the pawn on f7) it took some trys but I did it also you have to be white

Wow 2800ish. I'm not even losing my time on that one. Got me 50+ games to beat the Andrea Bot(ez), which is 1800, but was rated like 1200 in the game analysis after I beat it. I learned my "London" doesn't do well against King Indian

It is trying to emulate Capablanca. Every month I think, emulating different players, so it's no wonder it plays better at the end, Capa was famous for endgame technique.

I played this bot and thought it was easy since it was at the top of the bots list. After losing 3 games I figured it must be strong.

Played this bot a few times on my flight and could tell it was rated over 2500 for sure. When it makes moves that make no sense but absolutely crush you in the end it's rough lol

For anyone interested, Turk was in fact a device for people to hide inside, its design was so great that even if all its doors are opened, there was still a space not visible and big enough for a person to hide, this was revealed by its creator's son after the creator was dead. The real Turk was sent to a museum and destroyed by a fire, while the chessboard survived. In 1989, an American manufacturer recreated Turk as similar to the original one as possible, while the new one uses chess engine to play moves rather than a hidden human

i play wit him for more then 3 games but still lose 😭

Imagine that, a machine that ‘cheated’ by using a human instead of a human that cheats by using a machine! I am working my way through the bots until I can beat them in a challenge as black. Previously have been able to get wins against all the bots up to Noam (2200) but this month stuck on Summer Isobel (1750). Likes to play too many different opening moves for my lliking and best I’ve got so far is a couple of draws and missed a mate in 2 😮 so have yet to face the ‘cheating’ Turk Thanks as always for the content!

A question about playing chess that I have in mind is, which is the real game? Is it the game where the human plays against another human, or is it the game when a human plays against a challenging bot? I expect to find that the human opponent is weaker than the bot, and that the human is always open to making mistakes, which offers less of a game. So then, should we have a greater satisfaction defeating bots, and should we feel more accomplished as players if/where can consistently defeat bots?

I think that actually with 1.8k elo i lost more than 100 games against that engine.

As an 1800 who played the turk 20 times and was winning convincingly 7-8 times, and still lose all 20 games to TURKb, im so happy to see Hikaru lose to him!

This bot is very hard to play. Last time I let him play with Magnusbot it was a draw
