I trap gray squirrel with live traps. Mostly out of peoples attics. There's several sizes to suite the critters needing caught. Groundhog is a bit challenging, but you can purchase lures for everything 😉

Stu kinda wish that you would dispatch the opposums for the turkey, and other ground nesting birds. However I respect your decision. Realy enjoy your channel and all the content , year-round.

There have been numerous studies showing the removal of predators has little to no effect on turkey and other ground nesting birds. The most important variable by far is habitat. Farmers tearing out tree lined fence rows etc cause far more damage...and it's usually permanent. I used to believe the same thing until I read studies showing that the removal of predators would have to be constant and targeted consistently because the predators left have larger litters and breed more often. Not to mention federally protected birds of prey that kill young birds. Habitat is key.

@@timothy5988 That's a common argument used by anti-hunters and anti-trappers, not saying you're in that group. However, I'd say those studies give a lot of support to sustainable harvest of a resource rather than leaving them alone. Does harvesting them help? Possibly. Does it hurt? Absolutely not.

I just bought a sweatshirt from Hoosier. Your PVC fleshing beams are Sold Out! I also wanted to tell you I caught a beaver using your drowners and they help up to a mean one! I seen it pulled tight around the stake and thought of you instantly.

I bought a Harbor Freight live trap to catch some ground hogs and after three catches where the critter broke out I got one of those Dukes, no more escapes after that.

very useful, they eat ticks and other annoying insects, are harmless to humans, rarely bother other animals etc.. but will scare the crap out of you sometimes, if you stubble upon one (or visa versa) as you are looking for other critters ;)

I've caught two squirrels in foot holds. one on a blind set and one in a coyote set. there are two reasons for this. pan tension and squirrel population.

I have a couple opossum's that eat my cats food but don't bother us whatsoever. I heard they eat ticks and other insects so I don't see a need to trap them. Four raccoons and two opossum's eating dry cat food one night on my deck and no fights. Animals adapt in the city against all odds.

They are migrating north. 40 years ago almost unheard of. Now every spring, roadkill is common. They act like rodents, weasal, skunk Racoons. Opportunist. No different than turkeys, they compete for same food supplies as native species, but also prey on their young or eggs of ground nesting birds like grouse or even rabbits. Wise decisions yield better results plus avert overpopulations that result in diseases, like rabies, CWD. Etc.
