The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

My father died 20 years ago at 48. My mother and him had been together 30 year's then. He wanted to be cremated and buried with Mom instead of being buried and us moving on in life and not being with her wherever life took us. Mother is now 67 and when it's time to bury her my daddy will be buried with her and his headstone will be with her's. ❤

That is how we buried my mom and dad. Dad went first. Mom about 20 years later. All children and grandchildren sat under the trees, near my daddy's grave, waiting while they removed the grave slab. There was a space left on the grave stone, for mommy's name. Everything was so peaceful....then we buried mom's ashes with dad, held hands in a circle around the grave and said a prayer, thanking God for our parent's love. It was so special😢

I think it so romantic - - I know that a famous Finnish-American female accordionist who died in 1958 had her ashes kept by her musician husband for the next 35 years [I know - he showed her ashes to me back in 1983.]. At his death in 1993, he was buried in a coffin holding/cradling in his arms - her urn. Together - forever. I hope to be able to do this with my female life partner.

I absolutely love the epithet on the gravestone! May we all remember that our Lord created ONE FLESH, from which ALL of humanity descends! When we die we return to the dust from which we were created, and the dust sees not and heeds not skin color or “race”. The dust neither differentiates nor discriminates but embraces all who are reunited with it. While we still live we should strive to do as the dust does, never forgetting that our Creator loves and cherishes us equally.

We go and get a light bronze color on our skin, which is definitely not what you blacks look like bc y’all are actually black like we can’t see y’all in the dark if you don’t wear bright colors. Plus while y’all are crying about us whites getting a tan in which we’ve always had tans from the beginning of time by going outside, ALL of you blacks women are wearing wigs that resemble European hair. Beautiful story Ron. Sadly there is no pictures of them. He loved her unconditionally. I have no problem with this. Just imagine the ones we don't know and probally will never know. Today couples are more free to express thier love. Not just blacks and white but other races too. I don't judge anyone. It has happened in my own family. They was accepted and loved as such. It's sad how much hatred. Prejudice and racism there is. No racism and prejudice is not the same. Some hate thier own color and that's not racist. No mix marriage is not always accepted, still frowned upon. But back then when slavery was legal. There was no way would they have been allowed to marry. It was hidden. She could be his lover his servant, his slave, but not his wife. Many would of thought nothing of that because it was ok to bare the masters children. The slaves had no say. Frankly I don't think prejudice and racism is going to go away. Not in my lifetime. This man did not hide his love for this woman. Brave man. Braver still was the man who made sure they was buried together.👍👏👏👏another great vlog and story Ron. You keep surprising us.🙂.I look forward to your next video. I donated my beloved husband, John’s , body to science when he died in June , 2018. His cremated remains were put into the Gulf of Mexico when Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, were finished with his body. The same will happen to my body when I die. From my Christian upbringing, I have peace of mind knowing that my spirit will be with John in the hereafter. I am Pamela Indo, close to 73, John’s widow.

I really enjoyed this story Ron. I’m glad you shared this story with us. It’s nice that Nancy got to be buried with William, the love of her life. It’s good that William’s friend carried out William’s wishes after his death. It’s sad that Nancy died of heartbreak though. I think that happened a lot back in those days, and it still happens today in our time. When you truly love someone and find your soulmate, the color of their skin should not come in the way of that. Love is love, regardless of race. It’s nice to know that William and Nancy didn’t let others come between their love for each other. A true romantic story of the 1800’s…💗 Stay safe out there Ron.🙂💟

I'm glad it worked out that someone in a position of power did the right thing and buried them together as they both wanted in a time when doing so caused him a great amount of problems no doubt. It is sad that something as simple as the natural pigmentation of one's skin causes such an uproar inside some people even to this day. It is sad that differences still cause some people to mistreat others to this day. Differences in skin color, in physical challenges, in accent, in dialect, in language, in religion, whatever it is,....people still point out those differences and pick on others about them. That is sad that so many cannot evolve and grow and progress to where they are accepting of each other's differences.
