Consider television news - no British broadcaster would, ever, even think of operating in the same way as Fux Noise or, even worse, OAN, because they wouldn't attract any viewers: there is, after all, a reason why Fux aren't allowed to market themselves as a "news" organisation in the United Kingdom...

It’s the parents jobs to recognise that and stop hating the government for doing what they did years and years ago. It’s the parents that have failed the new generation. More black, Asian and Malaysian kids do better than white kids in college and university, so explain to me where the oppression is. It’s personal choice in the United Kingdom to fall into victimhood mentality and blame the “ white government “ when again that does not exist. That in itself is racist. Don’t talk to me about reverse racism not existing. It does and white Privilege?😂 why is it that more black, Asian and Malaysian kids are doing better than whites kids in college. if there was oppression towards people who aren’t white where is it

Angela Hamlett every time I see slavery, I just have to chime in, because most people don’t know there were black slave owners as well, and in fact one of, if not the first slave owner was actually a black man. At the end of the day, we live in a world with many selfish people that only care about their own kind. When time passes and this terrible murder is not the main topic of america, what’s going to happen next? The past has shown no evidence of the country uniting. When Colin kaepernick protested, kneeling during the national anthem, where were the Asians? When random elderly Asians were getting attacked because of the coronavirus, where were the blacks? When good cops protecting the world were wrongfully murdered doing their job, where was the entire world? We all really have to think about what’s REALLY wrong with the world.

I tend to agree with him except for the transatlantic travel to the Caribbean in particular. The sugar trade was brutal as were the colonial wars between the colonial powers. Ya certainly did not want to be a French Huguenot in Spanish claimed territory. And the Africans frolicking in Africa? Yeah , no they were slaves in Africa which were conquered by other African tribes and they sold them to the slave market. There was one for Europeans going on at the same time it was going on with Africa. However Africa did not have a guy name Stephen Decatur .

yeah in the police academy training they should not train them for emphasizing 100 ways to do an aggressive take-down instead they should train cops to de-escalate situations whenever possible. most often encounters with people in question it is most of the time possible but they aren't doing that they are using the wrong approach. cops want to exercise power and be authoritative but they are just a trained person in a uniform. and not trained for dealing with humans appropriately. my inclination is they dont touch on that subject and focus entirely on training. thats a problem because then they are trained to execute like a marine during war time when any little thing happens. and they also get easily agitated and provoked if they are that type of person high on testosterone and mad at the world. i have seen cops like that and they too dont deserve to be a cop. they should instead be lifting weights or something to take out their testosterone rages of physical aggression or workout with the rock. But the rock is an exception, he's not a cop but has played cops in the movies. he's from what I can tell a real good guy so long as they are good guys they belong on the force if not nope. a child could choose good guys bad guys for your police forces.

Mr Frisky maybe we need to invest in their communities to elevate their financial and social status so that they have a better shot at succeeding in life. From the moment a black person is born in those poor neighborhoods, they are fighting an uphill battle. They are faced with poverty, gangs, worse schools, racism, cops, divorce, and a myriad of other problems that white people in their fancy suburbs don’t have. There are still black people alive today that had to ride in the back of the bus back in the 60s because of racism. And you just expect them overnight to be all model citizens when they were not allowed to be free for hundreds of years?

Firstly, this is not an attack on you. I just believe I need to respond to your statement. I understand your perspective that we must be equal. I agree, but have a look at the difference between Equality and Equity. culturalorganizing.org/the-problem-with-that-equity-vs-equality-graphic/ - There is a difference. And until you start to understand the other perspective and have the empathy to try to work together on what issues People of Colour are referring to... You will want to rephrase your statement because it currently reflects that you are thinking in privileged ways by making this comment. I know no one is perfect, but at least try to educate yourself on why we are still having these issues - there is a common trait for People of Colour around the world, in case you didn't know. Because I surely have also been educating myself too and re-evaluating how I may have treated others in the past (casually or not), especially to People of Colour. Like she said.. "when you get up as soon as someone of colour sits down beside you on the bus", this my friend is racism even if it is subtle. I will have to be honest.. there is a possibility I may have done this before myself without realising it when I was younger, and didn't understand that it was subtle racism implemented by me and not understanding the effects it can have to someone of colour. So, the older I have gotten, I now make sure I educate and hold myself accountable for my words and actions because there is no reason why people of colour should have to tolerate this shit anymore. Intentional or not, racism happens everywhere around the world, including my own country, in Australia. I grew up in a city surrounded by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples (First Nation people) and I have friends who are also Indigenous and honestly didn't think there was any issues with Indigenous people in Australia. My judgements although genuine and sincere, I also learnt racism unintentionally from my peers, family and the media that shares mostly negative stuff about Indigenous people in my community. But the older I get, I realise that there is a huge difference of discrimination within my society and the rest of Australia too. I always thought I wasn't racist, until I lived overseas and someone had asked me isn't Australia racist. I honestly replied No (defending my home) and then saying Yes unless you make a remark. After reflecting on that, I think to myself wtf did I say that? Is Australia a racist country, am I by making that statement? Until you educate yourself with content surrounding racism, the true history of injustices/slavery as well as the People of Colour's stories (like intergeneration trauma we have here in Australia), only then you can start to understand and emphathise and become their ally too. Did you know Indigenous people in Australia were considered Flora and Fauna, part of "cattle" or yet not allowed to vote... hmm.. similar to America - segregation occured here too. Until you start to put yourself in their shoes or the roles were reversed... I'm sure you will begin to understand why enough is enough, because I am sure you wouldn't want to trade places. The oppression and discrimination should no longer be tolerated and WE (everyone who is not People of Colour) has to work together to find a common ground with People of Colour to support their fight, and make it right. The system is flawed from above to down below. Believe me, People of Colour are tired of fighting but at the same time, they will continue to fight for justice as this will only continue to the next generations after that... as I certainly don't wish that on others. As adults, we have a role to play and that is to make sure we don't allow it to be taught to the younger generations by continuing systemic racism. Also, People of Colour are not the bad guys here, we have all done it to them. Using privilege whether white or not white - created systemic racism to continue. I say this because I know in my own culture there is racism within our own and outside of it too. But I definitely know that People of Colour is discussed differently too. We all have no idea what People of Colour go through each day, especially when they have to watch their backs every day and question their safety under the hands of authoritative figures like the police, who you expect would do the right thing. But the standards are different and you get treated differently when you are someone of colour. We need to change that storyline.

Chilling, living a life of beauty in Africa.. That's a big lie, this is the problem with a one sided narrative, we had our conflicts in subsaharan Africa before even a portugese man stepped foot on the soil. We can advocate against Racial injustice without having to lie to sound perfect. As an Igbo man from Nigeria living in Germany, I know what I've experienced at home and my mind was already prepared for the worst in Europe, after all what more can happen to me. Too early to compare both climes, but Africans in diaspora should stop painting this Eldorado picture of Africa, we will speak out against Racial injustice, but we must be sincere in all things

I don't think you get the point she was making, yes Africa had it's peculiar issue before colonialism but we had our unique African ways of resolving these conflicts, and I believe it shouldn't make us a preying ground for the whites. Men and women were violently taken away from their families, lands etc, you moving to Germany was a choice, slaves weren't given a choice. We need to respect the price these people paid and the domino effect it's had on their generations after them.

@@olowokeredesola9345 you have little idea of slavery if you think it started when the white man came, the transatlantic slavery was brutal and one of the worst things about humanity. So you won't bait me into using words that appeared to support it.... Saying violence started when the white man came is not true, as a yoruba, you are quite acquainted with the numerous tribal conflicts that raged for centuries, before European traders started selling arms in exchange for slaves and gave more slave traders the incentives to engage in more warfare. So I don't need to elaborate on that.

Understand where you're coming from but I think you misinterpret what time in Africa they are talking about. When I make trips back home to Lagos, Oyo and Ondo I see the state Nigeria is in and I'm proud of the developments but I realise we have so so far to go. Fortunately for me I was privileged to meet my great great grandmother before she passed. She would tell me stories passed down to her from her parents and grandparents of a time before colonization before a white face ever appeared on our shores. We had our way of doing things, our own identity, tribal Mark's, language and traditions. She'd tell me about the tales by moonlight the kids had to teach lessons and how everyone knew their duty to their people and where they were from. But with colonisation we were told our way was wrong, these ideas were evil and gradually people forgot what and who they were. People had to change in order to survive. That's what she meant.

@@bluebelle42 You are privileged to have your ancestor narrate that and I wish I had that privilege, meanwhile I am privy to documented conflicts, the saharan slave trading is older than transatlantic slave trading and continued till the 20th century. The white man's early view of Africans as a step down in the Darwin evolutionary sequence and dehumanizing of Africans made the transatlantic slave trading more brutal that any other thing. My point is, no race had the monopoly of violence, fire arms invention in Europe only made it worse, that's why the 20th century is still perceived as the bloodiest century in human conflicts, not merely because of the number of conflicts, but the weapon of warfare changed. This romantacizing of mama Africa is the reason we can't heal our internal strife nor speak truth to power,. Pan Africanists tried to use a common enemy approach while they failed to see the monsters within, everything was blamed on western influence,.

@@senorbit2868 You are correct...even bringing it forward a bit to the inter-tribal wars. I still feel there's a great need to speak on the Biafran war as I feel the Igbo people were treated unjustly without bringing up western countries that were involved first too. We have blood on our hands and people need to held accountable but that "Mama Africa" image that you speak of is what's driving young Nigerians and Ghanaians to look back home, invest and build. Opening up to the idea of letting us all come back home. "Year of the Return" proved this more than anything else...hope is a great thing and there is beauty where we are from and last December proved that a great number having that dream and outlook on Africa can make a difference.
