In cat 966 Heavy duty axles and brakes are designed to last in all kinds of operating conditions.     These guys risk their lives doing this type of work. A frayed cable or strap could mean disaster. I guess feeding the family is the most important thing. You do what you have to. Kudos guys.

    you obviously don't do this kinda work. they are doing twice rhe work for a worse result. putting it on its end like that you have a much higher chance of getting contaminates inside the diff housing. and they are working in dirt with dirty rags and to many hands. horrible like everything in that shit hole

    As a mechanic who works in a heated shop with racks and power tools these guys amaze me .. theyre smart and have figured out how to get it done with what theyve got at hand ..couldnt imagine doing this with flip flops on tho ?

    It's amazing what these guys can do with such rudimentary tools. I was surprised they had an air compressor. I figured they'd all grab a straw and blow out the bolt holes themselves. Props to these men.

    When in used machinery rental/repairing companies owners And machanics make approx US$150 - 1000$ a month in this market. When u break it then u change it. Thats the safety rules here. Injuries happens all the time but field workers are used to it sometimes 6th sense came handy 😅 -I live in this place. Super Market Karachi, Pakistan.

    I genuinely don't understand what's "strange" about all of this They disassembled the drivetrain, cleaned it, replaced the broken parts with new ones, and reassembled it Sure, it's no factory line and they make do with whatever tools they have at hand but that's nowhere even close to strange, it's simply pragmatic

    I think they should have dismantled the tire before reassembling . They faced difficulty and spent some time during reassemble . That may caused some damage to the gear because of the tilted positioning .

    So they replaced a clutch disk in a mostly normal way. A little rough on fitting the parts back together, but it will probably hold together for a while.

    uhhhhh, no. No safety goggles, no steel toed boots, no hard hat, etc....standing under a tire/wheel assembly with only a strap holding it (should be steel chains). In the USA OSHA would have found dozens of safety violations. 3rd world is 3rd world.

    the cheapest safety shoes/boot u can get are around 15$ which i believe is a lot gor these guys and let alone its probably not sold near to them

    Tire balance wouldn't be any issue. What I'm worried about, did they change only one side of the axle?

    @@dave161141 Yea, if one side is worn out there is a good chance the other side isn't far behind. He was talking about balancing the tire on end to work on it, not balancing like you balance a car tire.

    @@dave161141 Every part over there is being used to the max AND beyond. Over there labor costs are CHEAP(also human lives/OSHA btw) and parts are relatively expensive. That means repair only when it's broken even if the other side "should"also be replaced.

    They're reallly expert but I noticed that still they need more tools, well done guys. I'm not sure how much their salaries as Heavy duty mechanic, here in Canada heavy duty equipment mechanic will get ar least $50 per hour

    Sir, I am Pakistani , i say u the correct figure which will estonish u sir, they earn not more than 150 dollar per month. These are Pakistani and shalwar kameez is our national dress which general people ware. Indian hands are slow than Pakistanis and the commonly use pant shirts.

    Where were the experts? I can tell you another thing I noticed, not a single thing done for the safety of those men. I am glad all my jobs had great safety laws and practices to help prevent the unnecessary injury or loss of a valuble human life.

    @@knowurself4999 It takes many years and many broken, expensive parts and bolts. After that, your elbow is calibrated. Until then, it's "torque to yield"

    We always left the differential on support stands. Inboard wet disc brake systems are great for heavy equipment.
