    Agreed, over 20 years ago when I lived in the Middle East my sons had a quad bike for the dunes, they stripped the rear sprocket, I went to an Indian bike repair shop, he’s shook his head and said it will have to come from Japan (Honda bike) it will be 2 to 3 months, seeing the disappointment on my sons face the guy said, but I can make one, it’ll be ready tomorrow, 22 years later my son 31 years old still has the quad on his woodland home and that sprocket is still on it! Obviously they have never heard of "Arc-Eye" (Welder's Flash)? - An inflammation of the cornea, caused by ultraviolet radiation from the arc during welding. Nasty and even possible loss of sight if long term exposure like these guys! I had it once as a young apprentice - that was enough for me! Use your heavy goggles or proper welders helmet guys! 😮

  • @MrKotBonifacy

    @MrKotBonifacy

    @@peterhowells7309 But that's the problem with them... Deeply ingrained work habits (BAD habits), and lack of any interest or desire to improve things around even a little. Arc eye? Put a slice of potato (or cucumber) on the eye and the next morning you'll be alright (Insh Allah...). EDIT - I think it was "potato juice" drops applied to the affected eye - not sure, Uncle Google is yer friend. Safety? What, you don't trust Allah Almighty? All and everything is in his hands, so if I'm going to be killed, in the grand scheme of things, by this or that, there's nothing that could change that. When strong turbulence hits an airplane, and the stewardess shout "FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS!" what one should do? BUT OF COURSE shout "Allahu Akbar", and fork the belts. It's all in the hands of The Almighty, so what use of then flimsy effing pieces of Allah knows what. See, when Moguls (who were Muslims) invaded (and conquered) what is now North India, the lowest castes converted to Islam in droves - say the right formula three times in a Mosque, and presto! You used to be an untouchable, something between leper and a dog - and now you're a proper human, equal to all them nawabs and sultans! (In theory, that is.) So, what's not to like about it? (and use it). But then that magic procedure doesn't (nor can) make anyone smart, educated and all - so when Pakistan was established they didn't have enough educated clerks just to staff properly post offices. I guess things have improved there since then, but seem only so much...

    What could go wrong,, driver smoking and playing with his phone while driving. No mirrors. And driving a destroyed rolled over bus about quarter of a turn left hand down. No sign of taking the twist out of the chassis, All that framing and panels stick welded together,, the bus has a lot of natural twist in the frame so those welds will all break eventually. I am suprised that with all that framing just tacked together as it went that it seems remotely square. And all that welding without a welding sheild to be seen.

    I would take these workers over any western world worker, they work hard, they are completely aware of what is going on around them. And talk and work at the same time, how many times have you seen a group of workers in these talking and working at the same time, never because they feel they need to stop what they are doing while they stand and chat. This was how it was back in the 60’s and 70’s in a lot of mechanic shops, the guys would be chatting away while working. Not today, workers cannot seem to talk and work at the same time. These guys may not be dressed by western standards, but then unlike those in the west they are completely aware of their jobs and work as a team. Can say that about many western companies these days.

    Its probably permitted because the frame and running gear aren't damaged, the glazing and loose sheet metal has been removed or secured, it isn't carrying passengers, and they aren't travelling in dense traffic. Its already a truck chassis with useless bent metal on top. Strapping it to another truck chassis and calling the mess "transport on a flatbed wrecker" checks all the vehicle operating condition boxes but doesn't actually do anything to change the safety profile.
