TheGigRig Announces The Ultimate Guitar Signal Isolation Technology

Музыка

www.thegigrig.com
We are delighted to announce our new Hi - Definition Isolation Technology, shipping now on all of our products that use a second isolated output including G3, G3/Atom, ABY BABY and the HumDinger.
For 20 years we've been using audio transformers to isolate the second output on all our switchers. And why not, they sound great and is the standard way of isolation a secondary output.
But there's been something about audio transformers that have always bugged me. They each have a character that imparts itself on the signal. Many of them can and indeed do sound fantastic, nonetheless, that character is there. What Ive always strived for is a mirror image of output 1 on output 2, and I'm delighted to announce that we've done it. Introducing TheGigRig Hi - Definition Isolation Technology. It came about, like so many things do, as a complete accident. We were working on a different product completely, experimenting with balanced signals so we could send signals over hundreds of metres with zero loss. Then it occurred to me, we could do the same thing but over a distance of a few millimetres, and Hi-Definition Isolation was born. An exact mirror image of the input signal with complete isolation and reversible phase.
TheGigRig Hi-Definition Isolation now comes as standard on all of our products that use a second output including G3, G3/Aton, ABY BABY and our HumDinger.
If you need to split or isolate your signal, this is the way.
Thanks everyone
Dan 👍🤓

    Hi Pierre, I hear you, and yes it is possible to upgrade the back panel. 2 years ago was the idea, then proto, then proto 2, then proto 3, then testing, testing, testing, then search for more components, then more testing, then final proto, then long term testing, and only then do I consider releasing it. And I will just say again, the transformer isolation on OUT2 is fantastic! This really is a small improvement, it was more of scratching an itch for me.

    Hey guys- I'm trying to setup something sort of like this but much smaller and simpler- I don't have the money for a GIg Rig switch right now. I have a Moen ABY switch though with a buffer built into it- and I set up two separate signal chains. Problem is- my amp only has one input- it does have a separate channel, an OD channel- but only one input. So- I bought a Y cable- a splitter and thought I would connect both signal chains to it and be able to switch between them with the ABY switch. But- the first splitter cable I bought was this higher end audio cable that only worked one way- the wrong way. It would split a single output into two outputs but not a single input into 2 inputs- if that makes sense. So- I bought a regular Hosa YPP-111 Y cable- but I tried to get off cheap, I bought it used- and it's bad. So, I'm going to go over to the local shop and see if I can just buy one off the shelf that's good. Do you guys see any reason this wouldn't work?

  • @TheGigRigDaniel

    @TheGigRigDaniel

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi there, it’s a challenge trying to do something like this cheap, what you need is some sort of mixer before the input of the amplifier. JHS make a small summing device that will work. So you want to split the signal, go through your two signal chains, and then sum them back together before it hits the amp. Things to look out for are phase problems, and latency issues by running any non-analog dry through Pedals on either side of the chain. Wish you the very best of luck with it.

    Hi Christopher. In simple terms, you want to split your signal somewhere in your chain, after your overdrives for example. Let’s say you use a HumDinger to split the signal, place the HumDinger after your overdrive/gain pedals. Out of the last gain pedal to the input of the HumDinger. Then take the ISOLATED OUT and plug this into your ‘dry’ amp. Now take the normal output of the HumDinger and plug that into the next pedal in your chain. Now plug the output of the last pedal into your ‘wet! Amp. With this configuration you have all your gain sounds going to both amps but the pedals AFTER the spilt , delays and reverbs for example, are only going to one amp. Hope that helps 👍
