The Zoom R20 - Control Surface Setup
Ғылым және технология
The Zoom R20 is a standalone Multi Track Recorder, but it can also be used as a USB audio interface with your computer. When in Audio Interface mode the R20 can act as a Control Surface for your DAW.
You can use the R20 to control faders, transport functions and arm tracks in your DAW. In this video, Ryan goes over the steps for setting the R20 up as a control surface with Logic and Cubase.

This was very useful...much better than the Zoom manual. Thanks very much!
Thanks for the tutorial.
PS we love this touch interface for editing, I don’t think there’s anyone out there doing this aside from Akai MPC series. Down the road would like these units with a larger screen format, or some more in-depth editing . Of course, firmware improvements for the touch display for sensitivity would be amazing. Sometimes the R20 Interface editing can be difficult to use. Another 20% would probably put this thing over the edge.
Man, thank you for posting this and pushing out a new firmware updates. We truly appreciate that. It makes us feel like it’s a live box versus buy it from the store and you get what you got, bugs and new features be dammed. Also is the zoom R20 app for $.99 the correct one in the App Store?
For New Users. If you are using a new R20, update the firmware in order for the control surface setup to work.
Can you load Guitar Impulse responses with guitar lab? I would kill to be able to run my amps and loadbox straight to the r20.
Does the R20 Control app will be available for Iphone users in the near future?
Hi! Do you give personal / private tutorials about how to work this recorder? I'm a begginer and having hard time to understand how to use it. I would like to request for some sort of a class in a video call if possible.
Does this work with FL Studio as well? If so how can it be added?
Hello, I have a device of this model, but it stops recording after 45 minutes. Does anyone know what the problem is?
Wow, this is great, can we use it with Garageband ??? 🎸
Hi. I have a problem. When i launch a song in cubase 10.5, Zomm R20 control volume and modify the pitch of vst plugin
What about for Ableton Live?
Oh wow! Noce
I cannot get it to work with audacity
Is this compatible with Reaper?
You cannot use this unit as a daw controller on ios. No app allows mcu or Mackie control through iPad or iPhone.🎉 You can plug in and record. But you cannot use the faders to control the on screen daw. Only works on macOS properly
Hope we get interleaved tracks in the first update !

Could you explain it to me in Spanish?
The fact that a USB-c cable is required to transfer from the unit to the DAW, and one is not included with the unit, is a pain in the ass.
Ableton anyone ?
When are you going to upload videos in Spanish?
