if the video you made was not made using your own product, it speaks volumes about how much your trust your own video capabilities

neat Camera but does it have NDI oh probably doesn't have Netwerk. It is certainly eye-catching though I think I saw a pre-release in another video.

Which case do you recommend for the zoom Q8n 4k ? I can't find any case that wil hold the Q8n 4k with it's accessories that isn't way too big. I'm looking for a case that holds the Q8n 4k, the windscreen, lens hood, usb cable, an extra battery and a usb travel charger.

I hope this one has the capability to use external battery packs, I bought one, but it seems every now and then, I need to check on the power level since it only uses battery for operation. It is useless for long term recording of a kids concert or plays, since it will turn off in the middle of recording.

Ok I upgraded to firmware to 1.10 and lost my 4k capabilities, anyone got any suggestions. I don't use the 4k much, but will in the future.

Does the lens allow threaded filters and if so, what is the size?

Thank you for the video; I've been using Zoom products (mixers/recorders, effect pedals, etc), for years and I'm very happy with them so I bought this camera based on my experience with Zoom products, but what a disappointment! a camera supposedly, made for musicians, with a very poor video quality and without the option of adjusting video settings? it works very well outside, but indoors it's a disaster, unless you only like grainy videos

Can a wireless mic receiver be added?

The battery life can vary depending on which recording settings are being used. The battery life when using the camera in 4K/30 is 1 hour and 20 minutes and in 1080/30 it is 2 hour and 30 minutes.

If you have a Q8, keep it and save $400!! These guys will EVENTUALLY LISTEN.

I have both and use both, love the Q8 but the Q8n 4k is a lot more camera and user friendly.

Audio will be great. Unquestionable. Video quality? Just continue using your cell phone until these guys learn to LISTEN.

Perfect where? Your basic Cell phone camera is still superior. And if you have a UBER PRICED SAMSUNG, then just shoot the video with your phone and overlay the WAV file and viola. What we all asked for but ZOOM DOESN'T LISTEN

I rarely post comments on KZread but since I've got sooooo many complaints from students regarding music exam video quality using this newly purchased Zoom Q8N-4K, I really wish to warn people here - the video quality of the Q8N-4K is absolutely frustrating - it'd like the quality we expect 15 years ago except that the file size is gigantic if you do 4K). The camera is degraded from the previous generation and the 4K looks like 720p with 4K file size because of the poor sensor. Not saying that Zoom is bad though - I think nowadays phone cameras are so good be it iPhone or samsung or Sony or Wawei (compared to this Zoom Q4N-4K), if you are having a phone with a camera, it's way better off getting a H4N/H5/H6/H8 (capsules are better than the one coming with the Q8N-4K, even the H4N) and USB sound into your phone....or even getting a zoom capsule for your iPhone/usb c input phone. or you may well get a U44/24 if all you need is an interface for pro mics into videos. Do search for demo and tests on KZread. Just a friendly comment here and if Zoom see this, I really hope this can be improved. it could have been such a good product. now wasted musicians money and caused me so much problem.

People have been bringing up the subpar video performance of their cameras for years. They can do much better in this area without breaking the bank. But Zoom buries its head, pretending there isn't an issue. It isn't just a poor sensor that is the issue. It's also a lack of adjustability in the video settings. Having preset scenes is fine. But there also needs to be a mode where the user is allowed to tweak all parameters manually.

THANK YOU FOR THAT COMPREHENSIVE RESPONSE. My frustration level with this company prevents me from articulating professionally since I've been complaining ever since they debuted the Q8 with 720dpi. WHO DOES THAT? Especially since cell phone cameras already had HD back then. Completely wasted product. If you have a Q8, keep it and save $400

It is like a Dad Cam from the earlier days of camcorders. It works but it is a little garage in low light. Don't get me wrong it works well and it is easy as heck to get the hang of but in low light the image gets a little grainy. It is a fantastic audio recorder with an ok camera. Take it as it is.

Zoom just never learns. Yes, great audio, but the video capabilities with lack of controllable color temperature and pro level controls are deal killers. When I heard of this camera I was excited until I saw a regular consumer expose the poor video quality and inability to do really great video resolution, I won't buy one. I bought the first Zoom and the Q2N. Both of them eat batteries to death within barely more than half an hour. The Q2n needed a outside battery bank to use it, and the power jack is so flimsy it no longer will do that. Please listen to US. Make a PRO-LEVEL CAMERA and PRO controls for a PRO level camera. YES, it will cost more, but if you do that people will buy it. Bigger sensor, pr controls and manual camera controls like real video cameras do. My Iphone 13 pro max does better video than this thing does. We are waiting for you guys to make what we really want....

Well they have made what I really want.

Really very poor image quality in low light situatios. Preciselly like musical events, or other theater performances usually are. So "vivid video quality, no matter the situation" is an overstatement. About Bluetooth control. With Android you don't have control of the levels, as stated. Worts is that the app and the device become disconnected as soon as you leave the App or simply send it to the background to access any other application, if you pick a phone call, if you access other app from a notification... You have to phisically walt to the camera and go thorugh all the connecting process again. This is the most unusual way of using Bluetooth I've found. Without being able to permanently pair the devices, you need a phone to use solely as a remote control through all the time you plan to use the camera. Very unpractical for recording events, maybe good enough to just sit in front of the camera and press REC.

I received my Q8N yesterday and I am shocked how poor the video quality is. In a well-lit room the picture is very grainy and the color interpretation is off... and there are no options to really adjust anything. Just some poor presets. If you want some halfway convincing video, you'd have to use some serious light in 4k, otherwise it is like watching a VHS tape on your computer. I mean, any cheap cellphone nowadays has a decent camera and adjustment options. How do you justify such inferior video quality in today's market? The battery life is the next thing. I fiddled around with the camera for maybe 15 minutes and lost 2 of 3 bars... and of course no charger is supplied with the camera. This could've been a really good product with all the great options for sound. The general idea for this camera is excellent. I just needed something halfway decent to record musical lessons, product tests and little instructional videos. I am utterly disappointed and sent the camera back to the dealer for a full refund.

i just got it and am experiencing the same issue. I’m wondering if it’s actually the Sansdisc that is the issue with the super shitty grainy video. Line you said , it’s like some crappy vhs from back in the 80’s. I got the Sandisk from Amazon for super cheap so could be the issue. Super disappointed so far and my Q4n is way better in video and sound .
