I'm running the X model and have been very happy with it. That rechargeable battery holds a charge well. Great value.

I love Stream Light products. I have owned a couple for work and they haven't disappointed.

I have the Polytec X with my search and rescue gear. Love it. Great light. I'll definitely get another one to throw on my AR.

Thanks Aaron great video. I’m hoping you’ll do a 2020 update on your medical soon.

I don't need a another flashlight but I will probably buy it anyway.

Just picked up the polytac x-usb 600 lumens it seems like a good tactical flashlight and it runs on cr123 and the rechargeable 18650 thanks for the video

I'm not disappointed in the PolytacX

How does this do in Pocket Carry for EDC use? the head part looks abit bulky? I was considering the Protac 2L-X @ 500 lumens.

It's definitely worth the upgrade with the ability to use an 18650. I've got a Nitecore charger that's awesome.

Is there a way to lock out the switch to prevent it from turning on accidentally?

Excellent, succinct review. I own a Streamlight (Protac 2AA) that uses a very similar control system. I have never warmed up to that system and prefer the Thrunite line of flashlights, "they connect with me" (as you often say). That said, I can see using the Polytac X as a shotgun's weapon light and will probably purchase one for that purpose.

Can anyone compare pros/cons to the Protac HL X?

Look at the streamlight hL X models it has a good throw. Dual fuel also. $70 to $90 range.

I'm between this one and the 90x ? Any suggestions......

I have a TLR-6 on my Glock, and I've been impressed. I've been looking into picking up one of their flashlights for EDC. Do you have any experience with the Microstream?

Aaron, are these dual spring? Fwiw, you can use 16650 batteries in dual 123 lights, though output will likely be lower due to the change in voltage.

The battery in the X holds a charge forever.

The tailswitch of the X totally sucks! Its mushy af. BUT you can cut off the 3 cover wings to make the button more exposed. Also you can pull out the rubber of the tail switch and put some rubber spacer inside so you get a more direct activation. This them much better!

I just wanted something to slip in my pocket in the evenings that put out a bright white light (edc) and less than $50. As of mid-2019, it was a good purchase.

Fist time viewer and sub. Why the black lens bezel on the poly tac x? Is it a black plastic or aluminum bezel for muzzle blast?

Do you recommend this as a thrower? I’m a cop and I need a good distance light. I carry a Olight M2T Warriors and it’s great in close range but not so much in distance.

Convoy c8+ sst40. Cheap and Chinese but well built and awsome. Little bigger then edc, and not as durable as SL, but throws good. I have SL hlx and HL5X and use my convoy s2+ and C8+ more often. I'm running a tow truck, so they get used.

I recomand the First-Light TORQ made in USA. This light beats it all! Best regards from Germany.

Look bulky and can’t even strap it on rifle

Great light. I have it as a weapons light on several of my AR’s. Hundreds of rounds with absolutely no issues.

Chris Topher wow. I’ve never shot in low light or the dark with the light on. I guess the light flickers for a millisecond when you shoot it ? You cant notice it with the naked eye

Dang. I have a regular polytac but don't know of its the 250 lumen or the 600 lumen 🙃 Its pretty bright as I use it nightly for security work. Is there a way to tell?

Side note I use rechargeable CR123 bats 😉

I think I'll stick w/ my Olight S2R baton ( gets a ruler smack to the knuckles) Writes on the blackboard 100 times "Not every good flashlight needs to be made of aluminum"
