I use a stream light micro stream for my edc since it only takes one AAA battery and I have carried it for 4 years straight. Only issue is the clip has broken a couple times but I contact streamlight and the send a new one right away. That being said this streamlight will seams to be a good option as a weapon light since it would be a dedicated light.

Great review. Both are well-known manufacturers. Probably can’t go wrong with either light, but I agree with below comment. I would prefer an edc light to use commonly available batteries. The CR123 are still kind of pricey and hard to find.

As career firefighter I can say that I've put my 511 through its paces and everytime I need it it turns on and functions excellent. I'd highly recommend it to any first responders. And I bought a second for my home defense mossberg 500 . Great light highly recommend

I used the polytac on duty, perfect flashlight, light weight, takes up no room on the duty belt, great beam, highly recommend it

I need to get one of those Streamlights. The current model is 600 lumens and has three brightness settings. That particular model is assembled in the USA, I think. Not all of them are, but the spec sheet said it was.

As a KZreadr myself I really appreciate your videos. I’m like you in the fact that I focus on very thorough/detailed reviews. Great video as always. Question: what camera do you use and what video editing software are you running?

gideonstactical thatnks for the quick reply. I’m always pushing to increase my quality of my reviews. I’m currently on the market for a new software editing program but I struggle teaching myself sometimes. I’m a better hands on learner. I failed miserably with Adobe And it was just way over my head.

The streamlight is programmable. There are three settings. The one it is in. Then a low/high setting. Then high only setting. I have one mounted as a weapon light in high only mode. To switch modes just tap the switch ten times then hold, you should see it do a mode switch indication then shut off, it is relatively easy to do.

At that clearance price everyone in my family would be getting one in their stocking at Christmas!

I like to carry my lights with the button facing up and out of my pocket. Amazon's description says that the Streamlight's pocket clip is "multi position". Is that the case? If now, is there another clip I could buy?

Cool video but I like my flashlight to take batteries u can buy at the local 7-11 or a rechargeable one.CR123 aren’t carried in most stores and I want a better chance at keeping my light going if shtf.

Rather then using 2 CR123 batteries use 1 rechargeable 18650 battery, brighter and cheaper

TPT L2 im using is really bright.. the plastic tail cap is broken in less than a year..

Streamlight all the way. Best customer service i have ever had and a great warranty. Also an affordable lights and reliable too.

I am a fan of rechargeable flashlights and cr123 batteries get expensive and i have yet to find good rechargeable cr123 batteries. I just feel there are way better options then cr123 like 18650 or the batteries i have for my thrunite catapult v6

16650ies fit in 2xCR123 and work in most cases.

Wish there was a middle setting around 100-150 lumens... 14 to 275 is a big jump...

I just want on and off no modes hard use flashlight. So hard to find quality single mode.

If these were AA I'd probably buy both of them. I do not care for 123 batts, expensive and I've found them to be unreliable. The only light I still have that is 123 is my old G2 and it is not one of my primary use lights.

Streamlight has models with only double AA batteries only. My ProTac 2AA only comes with Two double AA Batteries and it only cost 30 dollars and it is all aluminum. I hope this helps you.

Jerry Johnson II I was thinking of a polymer body AA light. There are several polymer AA flashlights available but not really in this fashion.

Yep, your right. That would be cool if Streamlight would get on the ball with a polymer double AA Batteries version. I will have to do more research on it.

Will these lights take 1 18650 since they are CR123As?

@@danielcharbonneau222 The Streamlight Polytac reviewed in this video does not take a 18650 battery. It is something that owners specifically complain about. For whatever reason Streamlight made the Polytac be able to accept two CR123 batteries, but the metal tube inside the polymer frame is too tight to accept the 18650 batteries. I personally have use the 16650 rechargeable cell, which fits and works great. Slightly lower capacity than the 18650 cell, but nonetheless it is rechargeable and works great with the Polytac. The newer Streamlight Polytac X accepts the 18650 battery cell and also is compatible with the CR123 battery. The Polytac X will be better suited for those that are already running 18650 cells or would simply rather get a flashlight that accepts the much more common 18650 battery cell.

I had an older 5.11 ATAC light and absolutely hated it.

I mean it seems pretty simple to me stream light is awesome and that’s proven 511 is against our Second Amendment decision made

50 Shades Of FDE explain that one? How is 511 against the 2nd A? Half the stuff they produce is for firearms or firearm capable. Their packs have ccw compartments, their pants are designed to hold 30 round mags, their holsters, mag pouches, go bags, range bags...need I go on?
