How likely do you think adults fans would of tried to befriend her? I went through something similar in that i was & still am looking for adults to befriend via/on the internet. Also i was dealing with effects of trauma. What happens(ed) is adults act like children on social media & the young act like adults in that many more of them attempt to take an interaction online seriously than there are adults who do. Very different in nothing at all sexual, lingerie, etc. but for a while there & unknowingly i was interacting with young people online talking about parenting & being an adult. Different than the KZreadr in that it seems she was aware of her fans ages while i was not. But same in that i can understand how odd it may seem to others but if you’re throwing content out there online & looking to befriend adults what can happen is adults treat you like a child & children act like adults.

@@hashtagmate (Sorry for this part, Idk what happened but I corrected a mistake and a whole word was erased and I don’t remember how I started it, I’m not gonna rewrite the entirety of it so just know that. FUCK KZread) that’s why parents tell kids to not trust adults and you’re reinforcing the wrong idea; That gal wasn’t wrong for talking to kids, and you already know that I know how to read, but for being a litteral monster. A SANE AND NORMAL ADULT has still the right to talk to kids. The first and biggest reason why parents tell to not trust anyone is because they’re too lazy to teach signs so it feels like every adult on earth is a predator. Tell them that there are sick people trying to hug and touch them because they want love but it’s wrong the way they do because adults stay with adults and kids are BIOLOGICALLY not meant for that love, you don’t need to get into details if they’re young, if you know what to say they’ll understand the right parts Making kids believe any adult who will speak to them is bad or harmful is not only damaging for their education but also hypocritical. What about the very parents? The teachers, the family? They can be dangers too and suddenly nobody talks about it, and you gotta trust these adults unconditionally. That’s what’s wrong, you don’t realize it and I KNOW it’s not your intention but you’re helping abusive parents and acquaintances of victims Let’s just educate ourselves as adults and figure out why it’s always wrong to talk to unrelated kids ok? If I happened to sit waiting for bus and a kid sat next to me and started talking, this social norm tells me that I shouldn’t answer or shouldn’t help because they’re just a kid. I’ve seen this happen so many times when people are just people? Do you genuinely believe every adult is a potential groomer? Am I? Are you?

@lnt305 As someone that grew up watching her I suppose I am probably biased, but as I did see the content in question real time, I can say that the apology that she made in response was not only during the height of the toxicity of 'cancel culture' but it was an incredibly mature and not unexpected, genuine apology to accusations that were taken out of context and blown way out of proportion. I cant really explain it properly but if you're interested I highly recommend the KZread video Why the end of Jenna Marbles is the end of Authenticity by Donna as it explains what I'm trying to far better than I can. Long story short she came from a time in KZread when it was treated almost like a video diary or journal, she was an OG and after nearly 15 years on the platform she was bound to have a video or 2 that would be deemed problematic by today's standards, and it was taken out of context for the time most of it was made.

She really thinks that this response isn't VERY obviously manipulative and gaslighting? she's in her 30s and I'm 23 and somehow more mature than her and know what manipulative and gaslighting words are and NOT TO DO IT. Her saying "Fuck me right?" is just " so I'm the bad guy right?" tactic. the way she gets so close to apologizing but then burrows back into her own head reminds me of a fight I had with an ex-friend (college students) where he said "I already apologized to you" (this was all in text btw) but when I looked back at our messages, the closest thing I found was basically 'I have been stressed with school and work so if I've been negative that makes sense, but you should have brought it up to me better' (He literally confronted me in dms after I "sounded upset" ONE time for like 5 seconds, to which I explained clearly what was bothering me). Some people think that if you're "too" mad at them, they don't have to apologize to you. Colleen already decided how people were gonna react to her before she even did the thing people were supposed to react to. What somebody else did wrong is separate from what you did wrong.
The most ironic thing about life is that the “feeling like shit” part always comes too late and the damage has already been done. And after this video, even if she did make another one and sincerely apologized, nobody would take her seriously.

She conned these kids into thinking they were "friends" and what she was doing and saying was okay, then going and talking shit about these, again, kids, to her adult friends. You can think she did nothing, or minimal things wrong or not believe the allegations. But in my eyes, if that many people say the same things, have screen shots, voice messages, etc, and then your apology is a shitty, self indulgent "song", it's hard to believe you're innocent and don't know what you did was wrong. She didn't say anything past "these kids lied about me" while providing no evidence past hurt feelings. Sorry a grown woman got her feelings hurt because she groomed kids. Allegedly. In my opinion.
The "I was inappropriate with minors because I was a loser who wanted to be friends" thing kind of reminds me of "I was inappropriate with minors because I was desperate "

It is interesting that she thinks that's a good defense, what's really interesting is that she(and James) unknowingly used a lot of the rhetoric that bredators use to defend their actions. Almost all the guys on how to catch a bredator say "I just wanted to talk, I don't have friends, blah blah blah". Or guys in prison will say "she lied about her age, I didn't know how old she was". They don't even realize how obvious they made it that they are part of that group.

There was a coach in my hometown who got arrested for having “relations” with a 7th grader and his excuse was “I only texted her when I was drunk.”
I’m glad I found your channel. I love your personality and commentary.
14:20 Actually it is one of the issues. She says she is PG-13 "and has always been that way" but there's a lot of children in her audience (including the boys who she picked to grab cheeseballs out of her pants), a lot of pictures with children in her books and etc, while making inappropriate jokes about daddy's saddle, her uncle, being a porn, spreading teenager's legs on stage for a "fart joke", and other sexual innuendos.
Hate it when creators who have done genuinely horrible shit say things like "oh, and you would never do that? You've never made a mistake?" as like a gotcha moment. Like, yes, girlie, I can confidently say that I have never been a famous 30 year old woman exploiting my audience of children, and I cannot see that being me anytime in the future. My mistake was never doing math homework, thus putting me in failing range for finals. One time I was really mean to my brother.

Right! I'm in my 30s and have never ever been weird around minors like this nor do I see that happening in my life. My mistakes were dating the wrong people, upsetting my mom, and overspending 😂

I'm not even famous, but at 27, I would feel weird being in a group chat of people in their early 20s if I didn't know them irl for many years
You know she was laying in bed at night daydreaming/fantasizing about this non-apology, thought of “toxic gossip train” and thought “oh yeah that’s good.”

So unbelievably off topic, but I'm new to your videos and I got severely distracted by your harmonies and how beautiful your voice is- I have been missing out!!

She used auto-tune.
I absolutely love the moment when she says she's not manipulative and narcissistic, while a second ago she used manipulation tactics as old as the hills, like victimizing herself and guilt-tripping by all this "I *have* an explanation and I *would* defend myself, but you already have your opinion and just want to hate me, so my words mean nothing to you anyway" And I've made hundreds mistakes in my life, but somehow I never talked inappropriately to a child. Crazy, right?

Exactly. Mistakes are not intentionally being gross to children. That’s an intentional choice that she saw nothing wrong with.
Jesus this “apology” is the most passive-aggressive abusive crap. Like this is textbook blame-shifting and guilt-tripping.

The Disney style sung interpolated questions were lovely.
Imagine how long and how hard she rehearsed to perfectly ruin her life in a single take
Abusers are so good at making themselves the victim in any situation. To be so absolutely so certain of your victimhood that you go AGAINST ADVICE OF THE PAID PR PROFESSIONALS. "They said I shouldn't say anything, but they didnt say anything about singing." These are the kinds of loopholes that abusers/manipulators use to prove they didn't do anything *actually* that wrong.

For real. And they use the "they said I shouldn't say anything" thing like a "ohhhh they're trying to silence me and my objectively correct opinion" to make themselves look like the world is against them. You wouldn't apologize if you hadn't done anything wrong. I've yet to see any evidence that she has committed any crimes. She's unlikable, can't sing, and shouldn't have a following to begin with but that's not my business or concern. People need to stop throwing the term groomer around lightly
