This is a great comment. I was trying to figure out what was so off about it and if only it was some kind of weird satire/parody. It would make sense then, but it just feels off in general - no planning, no production except for one camera, not real jokes and the guy who arranged it supposedly has quite a bit of money too. It really reminds me of something, like bad high school band performances or something but not that. Its a gut feelings and it is disturbing.

@@taylor22222222 he claims that they’re basically all known and successful comedians in the LA area, and this style of roast where nobody prepares or necessarily knows each other at all is the kind of comedy he apparently prefers. I personally think he’s charismatic and has a wonderful speaking voice (especially in the podcast he did with Def Noodles after this) and I could easily listen to him speak about what interests him if he had his own podcast, but I checked the comedy he’s posted on his KZread channel and I just don’t find him a funny guy. Okay. Y'all. If you're doing a roast, you've gotta at least know a little bit about the other person. When all you're doing is roasting appearance, you've already lost. Plus, the best roasts both lift up and tear down. Negative energy can only last so long in a comedy show - you have to take people through a journey so the roasts hit right. As an improviser myself, I understand not wanting to come with everything scripted, but I also know how much you have to practice for improv to be funny at all. "Know your scene partner" is possibly as important as "yes, and."

I forgot about this video. I started playing it while driving home one day because your voice is nice, and I listen to your videos like a podcast. Google maps took me down a long backroad and I had no service but the video was fully loaded, so I continued playing it throughout the ride. Thank you for making what has to be one of the cringiest comedy shows into a half hour of hilarity that got me home a year ago.

Miranda’s low-key seemed like she was having a panic attack towards the end there
My guess for why Miranda couldn't stop the flow of random expletives even after being handed the win is similar to some psychologists' theory of why we dream. In dreams the brain takes every synapse that tried to fire and was prevented for some reason and resets them by firing them all off in rapid succession, basically emptying the "recycle bin" from when we are distracted, or a train of thought is otherwise interrupted during the day to free those neurons up for use. This is why often dreams make no sense but have content that feels familiar and relevant to us, because our narrative driven minds are building a story from the collection of "unfinished thoughts". So yeah, it was like each time she almost got a joke out during the battle and failed or was interrupted a punchline was stuck in limbo and at the end, as she starts to decompress, all those unfired punchlines just sort of spill out of her like a comedy death rattle as she tries to assign some meaning to them despite not having a context to respond to. Or she may have just been wasted idk.

She got the stream banned earlier using an actual joke containing the f slur. She’s repeating it presumably in reference to that awkward moment. She’s saying “Comic Wars, 9/11” because that’s the date of her own show she’s promoting. This was discussed after her initial roast battle.

Here's what Steve had to say about it like 2 years ago: "Let's be clear that Amy Schumer was not saying anything disparaging of Ryan Dunn. The thing was that there was nothing wrong about what she said... I think she caught a lot of grief for that, that I don't think that... I myself got carried away in all the grief that was being thrown at her, and I at one point reached out to her to just try to say, 'Hey. I'm not proud of how I handled the situation. I was a jerk and I contributed to it.' And we made everything real nice, and now whenever I see Amy Schumer getting grief for that to this day, I don't like it. I don't think she deserves it and it bothers me."
