  • @mintylynava

@@Ifaeya Because someone needs to do it. They have to defend the alleged guilty to be able to defend the alleged innocent too. Also making it a fair trial allows it so that the ones that are guilty (hopefully not falsely though) cannot appeal the verdict. The law area is already very complicated thing, and we need to allow a fair trial for everyone, because even now people are getting falsely convicted. Imagine how it would be if no one is getting defended, it would make it another witch hunt where everyone gets stoned. Of course there is the "corrupted" defenders that don't care about who they are defending, but many do care and try to defend the alleged innocent ones. I wouldn't be able to be a lawyer/attorney either, because I'm too emotionally charged to be fair. Edit: Also sometimes it's not even about if the alleged is guilty (when it's an obvious one like in this case), it's about how severe the verdict is aka, life/death sentence or multiple years. Obviously he is guilty with so much evidence and I hope he got the sentence he deserved or even more.

Hearing this is giving me anxiety because Japan was supposed to be safe but I guess that’s not happening and the fact that it’s someone who isn’t just being a regular person who dislikes people it’s insane to see fans become so toxic over a small thing

Don't they have staff like managers, etc? I know idols usually have a manager who picks them up at their home if they can't drive. So I'm curious, about how Japanese idol culture works.

How can someone have even the slightest thought to do something like this, I get the part of being obsessed because that is something you can't really control, but to stab or physically threaten someone? Idols, not just J pop idols,(Was she part of J pop or K pop again??), need more protection.

14 years WTF, he stabbed her 61 times!!!!! Thank god she didn't end up dying but you just know if she had he would have gotten life or the death penalty even if the action was the exact same, whether the victim dies or not these sorts of people are dangerous to society and must not be re-introduced to the outside world until they have some serious physiological help.

That's not a sasaeng, that's just normal Japanese culture On top of that Japanese police being completely inactive in case of stalkers or rape is just the usual thing Heck Japanese justice even acquitted rapists because "there's indeed rape but he was too drunk to understand there was no consent"

Omg. This is beyond reprehensible. I do hope that the assailant learns a lesson and should no longer have anything to do with Kpop. When simping goes too far, you know exactly why the hell there are cons when it comes to admiration.

Idol culture is based on creating a captive obsessive audience who can form a pseudo-romantic relationship with the idols. This brings money for the companies, but makes the idols suffer due to inhuman restrictions on their personal freedom to make her available for the fans. Not sure what governments have done to stop this.

This is not the first time I heard Japanese stocking case that end up in deadly situation. I read about a case where a couple broke up because guy was aggressive etc. after break up he kept stocking and threatening the girl, harassed her through calls, internet and I think he followed at her work place etc. Finally he was sent to jail for two years and girl got married to someone but also changed her address, name etc and by police and gov records requested to keep her new identity and address secret and not reveal to anyone. When the stocker came out of jail he started searching her again for a long time. Finally he got a single hint and he tricked gov official to reveal her address. Soon after he stoked her area and one day when her husband left for the day he entered into the house killed her and killed himself too. The laws around stockers are very lenient and police don’t take them seriously.
