I love when apps have an entire storybook's worth of lore in the product description, and then the game itself is just some crayola-esque, 2-button only, 1 objective, ripoff game meant for 3 year old ipad kids.

im an aspiring game dev and i can tell you that the ads are loading with 0 connectivity because mobile devs figured out people turn off connection so it downloads some ads ahead of time with the game. so youre correct, they are essentially baked into the game

most apps like these have fake reviews, but these reviews aren't fake and this was a real kid using this app. You can tell from the completely different tones and typos and dates and the fact that you can share your own story.

Pilgrims loved the horror genre, they just combined it with religion and did all sorts of gory, horrific stories about hell and demons.

You were 100% correct on the baby game pretending to be the Baby in Yellow, not only with the models and grabbing movements, but the exact same gameplay and some extremely similar gameplay beats (like the diaper being stolen and the "feed the girl/baby you monster" text") I'd recommend the Baby in Yellow to anybody curious, its a genuinely really fun game

There's a form of trauma therapy call EMDR that involves eye movement and desensitization. It seems to really work and no one really knows why. I would put my money on this being the reason video games help (if they actually do). It is missing a desensitization aspect though.

The idea that the cure to PTSD is literally flashing multicoloured lights is unreasonably funny to me. Like, cancer is horrible, but imagine if we just found out that to cure it all you had to do was drink a shot of olive oil or something equally mundane. Sure I mean it's good that we found it, but, like, fuckin' seriously? I don't know it just feels comedically underwhelming.

The Pilgrims liked spooky things too, they used to amuse themselves by burning women alive to see if they were witches or not lol. Plus, a lot of those scary myths came from them.
