As a 3D sculptor some of my best breakthroughs are spending so much time trying to find a specific shortcut or brush then being like "fuck it, guess I'll just learn how to do it myself". It's truly a part of the creative process. I call it "stagnant procrastiantion" where you are actively looking for an easier solution but still putting off just doing the task itself and still end up having to do said task.

The episode with the Junkman actually had some of my favorite ever side gags as they're going back and forth from the moon. Sheen asks Jimmy how they're able to go back and forth between the earth and the moon so fast and why they can breathe in space, Jimmy is about to explain it but it snap-cuts to Carl singing an obnoxiously loud song into the camera while Jimmy is muttering the explanation to Sheen in the background.

I like how much the characters change in little ways. Animated characters are often given 1 normal outfit and anything else is for specific gags or scenarios. But in this show, Cindy starts with pigtails and switches to a ponytail, Libby gets locs and her outfit changes, etc. It really helps with immersion for characters to be fluid in style like humans are.

What I loved so much about this series, even more now that I'm older and can notice it, is that they have Jimmy a be super genius and still be a kid. Especially in the early series. He can make reality altering inventions, yet he uses them for purely kid stuff. Such as sneaking out at night to go to the park, to cool off on a hot summer day, to win a talent show, or to live out his dream of being a super spy. Pure fun, that most people have at some point wanted to do when they were younger.

My favorite cartoons are the one's where the parents know what's going on with their kids. No idea why but things like phineas and ferb where the parents are always unaware doesn't interest me as much lol. One of the reasons I love troll hunters is that the parents, even the whole town found out about the kids and the trolls and they were all so supportive and protective. Amazing.

I absolutely love TrollHunters! You’re right: it felt like such a huge sigh of relief once the kids’ parents finally find out what the kids have been up to after all that time. I personally found a lot of that comfort could only come from the father/son moments Blinky and Jim have (which are some of the most wholesome moments in the show). But for Jim’s mom to finally see her son for the hero he became, to finally understand why he kept ditching her and doing things in secrecy… that was so worth it. And it made room for quite a few hilarious moments with the parents and trolls! I mean, Toby’s granny knocking out Toby’s girlfriend’s dad, only for him to wake up to see the parents and trolls staging a play version of “the Trollhunters”? 😂

Seems like a perfect candidate to reboot for the fans that have grown older since its story format is pretty translatable to all age levels. Though aging the cast would probably be pretty difficult to pull off a way to have episodes that are changed just enough to be watchable for more than just nostalgia but classic enough that the original doesn't get lost.

The episode with the duplicate evil Earth was always my favorite. It's such a unique concept, not just for Jimmy Neutron, but for Sci-fi in general. It also ended on a cliff-hanger that was never addressed, with the Evil Clone swearing to return. Which was intended to be a season 4 plot, which is even more disappointing that it never happened. You can tell with season 3 that they focus even more on continuing plot lines and character development. Now we can only imagine what Season 4 would have been...

For help on the CGI term talk here (and in your Ben 10 Classic video where you go over "Destroy All Aliens"): - What you call the bodies you see normally on screen: "Models" - For the scene where you see their "digital skins minus the details": Their "wire frames" (basically all the points of articulation of how the face will move, if you've seen behind the scenes stuff where you saw people in black outfits with dots on their costume and face, basically imagine those as the points where each square connects) Also as far as Planet Sheen, I'd like to vote that we as the collective fans of Jimmy Neutron make it canon that the show is the result of either Sheen being stuck in a coma for a few days after crashing Jimmy's ship somewhere in or nearby Retroville, OR it's a case of Sheen making up a story and trying his best to put it together minus all the Ultra Lord aspects because those are the only two available options if we were to keep this show canon at all, which is probably the better solution rather than outright saying it's not connected to Jimmy Neutron at all. I haven't seen much of the show so I can't say much on how the events would play out. Honestly, even the idea of having a movie where Jimmy and the gang come to rescue him feels far fetched with how nonsensical and uncommitted to the original show is. Like they had a perfect opportunity to bring up even more Ultra Lord aspects for Sheen to live out his space hero warrior fantasy, they even had a perfect outfit to sort of base it on with his Ultra Lord Ninja costume in the Jet Fusion games. Again, haven't seen the show much, but the little I've watched barely drew any attention to it so I doubt it was brought up at all (and no, I do not count his shirt he's seen wearing before he gets his space suit because even that feels like lazy window dressing).

Hell, I was (and still am) a dunce when it comes to math, physics and science, but this show made me want to /try/ so I could replicate the gadget that Jimmy used in the show. I also really liked how they made Cindy her rival before developing a crush, because it showed how deep down they saw each other as equal who wanted to be respected by the other, and considering Cindy was the most reasonable of the two (Jimmy went too far with his experiments even if he solved the problems at the end of each episode) they personalities compliment each other very well. Now I want to rewatch this movie and show, dang it!

One of my absolute favorite episodes (and proceeding canon) is the trip to Egypt…Libby discovers her ancestry and accepts her blackness/roots and goes from pony bang to natural twists. As a little black girl, it was quite a tearjerker because it related so much.

I just wish they would've animated her hair with better and more natural movement after the change but I don't think anybody had significant hair effects in the show so they probably weren't willing to do it for just one character lol.

@@Outwardpd They went back and forth with animating the hair of the characters. In some episodes their hair is stiff but in others they do have hair physics.

Watching this whole thing it's just crazy to me that I remember every episode. Usually with shows like this and the age I was where I was getting into playing video games, I wasn't watching a lot of TV yet I somehow managed to watch every episode when it was still on air.

I remember absolutely loving the hell out of the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour trilogy when they first came out. I haven't watched any of them since then, but I still loved them.

This unlocked a lot of really fond memories growing up and watching Jimmy Neutron. Even after not watching it for years, I sat here thinking “oh yeah I remember this” for nearly every episode.

Its strange how I remember all of these episodes like I just got done binging them, despite not watching this show since i was a kid. I guess it goes to show how memorable it was.

I can remember when the season finale special aired on tv, it was a BIG deal because *everyone* loved Survivor back in the day. That and "Attack of the twonkies" were two of my favorite episode/specials. I think everyone shipped Jimmy and the alien girl.

Never realized that in the Carl pregnancy episode, the device Jimmy is using to scan Carl throughout the episode is a PKE meter from Ghostbusters
