Kristy may not have delivered the fatal blow that killed her child, but she definitely bears moral responsibility for her daughter’s death. She knew October was being harmed, and didn’t only do nothing about it, she actively covered for the person repeatedly breaking her daughter’s bones, tried to deny her medical treatment, and left her alone with her abuser over and over again. When she heard October crying out in pain, what did she do? She left her alone to get take out, then had sex. It’s frightening that this disgusting woman is allowed to go on to have further children. I have no faith that the authorities will monitor her closely to make sure that she doesn’t repeat her wilful negligence in the future.

I know that social workers have a difficult job, but she fabricated documents, lying that she had done several home visits. Why the heck didn’t she get blacklisted from her career after doing something so wrong and negligent?

Here in New Zealand there is long history of children being abused and murdered by their mothers’ boyfriends. They tend to be of lower socio-economic status. Mothers here have been charged with failing to protect their dead and permanently disabled children.

I’m sorry but October’s mother (mother used loosely) SHOULD have checked on her daughter no matter what anyone says!!! The woman should be jailed too.

Probably so they wouldn't hear her if she woke up during the night. Neglectful parents make sure their children don't have access to them as much as possible. Children are seen as burdens and annoyances, hence why we see cases of their severe abuse and/or murders. 🥺 It's a reality that shouldn't exist.

Kristy is despicable. What kind of mother when hearing her child whimpering goes out for food and then indulges in sex rather than checking on her? There is no way she didn't know that little girl was being abused.

Every adult in this story failed this child.

These neglectful case workers need to be held accountable. They seem to drop the ball way too often. Always standing by doing nothing, collect their paycheck and eat, sleep just fine it seems. Enough is enough. Do their job or face the consequences .

Where was the mother before she eventually came home? Was she at a bar? Was she with yet another guy? Nowhere did I hear that the mother came home from work, to ignore her innocent baby. However, it's okay. The mother's excuse was quite acceptable. She was enjoying take-out food and sex.

You know my wife used to think I was weird for being so into true crime. I think she, like many, thought it would desensitize. Quite the opposite. As I grow older these stories hurt more and more to hear. I’ve recently started having real tears welling in my eyes especially when kids are involved.. it’s a morbid curiosity of how people can commit the most evil acts but at the end of the day I’m not desensitized and would never sympathize with an attacker. R.I.P. To all the victims of foul play. May your attackers face judgement and your loved ones find peace.

I find myself listening to these stories with tears freely flowing. Some have me cry for days. My husband asked me why I did this to myself... I asked myself that after an especially terrible story that upset me for days. . The answer that came to me was this... these babies stories need told... the tears we cry for them, the pain we feel for them is felt by them. Love transcends time and space.. they deserve to feel our love! Does that make sense?

Thanks to true crime I have been able to better protect my children. I used to be an overly trusting person but now that I am a mom not so much..I also have taken my child off of social media.

Your faith in humanity should be restored every time you read the comments and see all the others wrecked by this poor child's death. How many of us would've gone in to take her possibly risking our lives doing so, or would any child! That's what helps me. It also strengthens my resolve to say something if an animal, child, disabled, or anyone who is being abused or bullied! Good people are out there, you're one of tnem!

Just seeing where that poor little girl was being kept broke my heart. This is so incredibly sad. I hope that man and mom rot for how they treated October. How could anyone do that?

One of my memories of my mother was holding her arms out & saying to my father that "You hit me before you hit my kids," and she protected us. What a pathetic, disgusting mother. It makes me sick to know that a grown ass man couldn't properly take care of a little two year old and had to kill her because she wouldn't go to bed. That pitiful excuse for a mother should have faced some type of charge for failing to protect her child from her abuser. She knew that creep was hurting her baby, and she let him do it until that child was dead. Shame on her. I hope she never gets another night of restful sleep for the rest of her life, thinking about how she could have saved her kid. 😡

I've seen this exact case over and over. We have a single mother living under the state and looking for a daddy for her child. The state did nothing to protect her via the completely worthless CPS services and then the state let the little girl down again by not ensuring justice against the inept mother who allowed her child to be murdered. She even laid down with the man who beat her daughter when she got home.

Normally I can watch content like this but with a newborn of my own, i just couldn't go through with this one. That poor little child...I just hope justice was served in this case.

Every adult in this little girls life failed her. The uncle and uncles girlfriend. The Mother and the boyfriend are just evil. But that Social worker is a special kind of disgusting. She has equal guilt by lying about being at the home and failing to protect the child. Until Government social workers/agencies are held legally responsible with laws that have tough consequences (loss of job, pension, and prison) they will continue to let kids be hurt or killed. The so called Mother should have gotten prison time too!! What an injustice that she wasn’t held responsible for any part of the child death. RIP little October

Had a dream where my kid was so badly behaved i slapped him, i woke up and felt like a disgusting human and a bad mum, because of a dream!! And there are people like this who can actually hurt their kids.. i just dont understand..

What mother would allow her child to live in conditions not fit for pigs? She should’ve been facing a range of charges, from child neglect to child endangerment and everything else in between.

This one was too much to bear…couldn’t finish but I’m a fan and listen weekly.

Poor girl probably would have lived if her mother would have checked on her when she was crying. Smh. I don't see how parents can let children "cry it out" I always tended to my son when he cried and he hardly ever cries, is the most independant little boy ever. He's 5 now.
