The underrated benefit of this card is that you can down-convert to any Citi Card, and who couldn't use another Custom Cash? Basically a free 80k miles if you product change after the first year

Oh hey I got it. Decided to research it a bit after getting tons of mail offers on it. I've never really flown American airlines but I'll take a free trip for my wife and I. Hoping I don't run into the issues I see online where the card gets locked down the second you travel lol.

Got the Citi American airlines business mail offer for 80k bonus and 5k in spend for 5 months. Annual fee waived the first year. Glad I was approved today😁

I think I've gotten 3 pieces of mail for this card in the last week. I don't typically fly american so I've sorta ignored it, but maybe I should consider it for just one trip lol.

This is nice, I see this better than the current 50K (04-16-24) bonus on the Barclays Aviator Red which the AF is not waived for the 1st year. (Minus the caveat that you can spend as little as $1 to hit the bonus) I did take advantage of the 75K bonus it had when you for approved and add your own authorized user and each card made exactly one purchase each.

This is a really solid bonus! The business card has a similar bonus now so I'll have to look at that one too

The correct advice here is to hit both the personal and the business one if you qualify and can meet the spend in 5 months. Same for your player 2.

I got a $400 statement credit and 30000 points for spending $1500 in 3 months. To me that’s better because I can’t afford to spend 3500-4000 in 4 months.

Great info! I would line to get this card and opportunity to travel American Airlines more but Citi rejected my application due to having high credit amount from all the cards I have and not high utilization. I thought having low utilization was good and I keep it low by paying higher amounts immensely. Let me know if there are tips/tricks to get approved for this card.

Yeah the US Bank Altitude Connect is better imo...less spend required, and $500 bonus with no annual fees. Also if you sign up for a checking account with them, you can get up to $500 from direct deposits there too. Also, citi won't approve me, but us bank did.,,,so there is that

USB Connect also has better multipliers.

Problem is finding a decent flight when you choose to use points. Good luck. You want to spend 12 hours on a flight when if you paid cash the flight is only 3 hours? They make it where you are using points on flights that aren't selling out/flights no one wants.
