Such market uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my market judgements and decisions on rumours and here-says, got the best of me 2020 and had me holding worthless position in the market, I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of an advisor, before I started seeing any significant results happens in my portfolio, been using the same advisor and I’ve scaled up $450k within 2 years, whether a bullish or down market, both makes for good profit, it all depends on where you’re looking.

I'm from Argentina. Everytime you talk about the Fed printing money, the government running huge deficits and the interest rates being below the inflation level, I immediately think about our country. We're doing literally the same. Inflation have been growing since the past 20 years and now it reached 12% MoM. And rising. Many are already talking about hyperinflation and hoarding food and essentials. There's gas rationing right now. Our governments are going to keep doing the same thing unless people wake up and realize that economics are ruled by basic laws such as physics as you said. Unfortunately, I think they will realize too late, if ever.

@@kinseybarnard Milei was the favorite until past Sunday's general elections where he got to the ballotage in 2nd place (37% vs 30%). So he's now the underdog again, as he was before the primaries when he got the first place and surprised everyone. At this point it's 50/50. Anything can happen in Argentina. Unfortunately. People here in general is afraid of change, and are basically ignorant in basic economics, due to socialist indoctrination in school, poor education quality overall, government idiosyncracy and families that basically brainwash their kids with these stupid ideas that don't match reality. Government literally look at their supporters in the eyes and lie to them and they applaud. It's a highly ideologized society. Milei opened the eyes of many here, that's why all the hype with him. It is yet to be seen if society wants a change or if it keeps this path to destruction.

The biggest difference between the USA & Argentina is Argentina didn’t control the financial exchanges the way America does . They can use massive derivatives leverage to suppress the price of gold & prop up the dollar using their surrogates in the banking system like JPM . The problem is all we are doing is climbing to a higher diving board but the diving board is already so high what difference does it make at this point. Does it make any difference if you jump out of the 50th story of the freedom tower or the 100th story . You may make a bigger splat when you hit the ground but the outcome is the same

Correction Peter: The USD was originally defined as a weight of silver as per the Coinage Act of 1792. That weight of silver was 0.7734 Troy ounces minted in the silver dollar until 1935. Silver was demonetized in 1873 and then The Gold Standard act in 1900 defined the USD as 25.8 grains (0.05375 Troy ounces) of pure gold. However this was ended with the Gold Reserve act of 1934 by Roosevelt. What you are talking about is the Statutory rate, which is arbitrary and can be changed by the Chief Executive. It is a rate of exchange between Federal Reserve Notes and physical gold as established by the Gold Reserve Act of 1934.

Financing two wars and internal spending bills with a depleted oil reserve does not bode well for debt, deficit and inflation. And keep an eye on banks. You're forgetting all the other gold in the world. Considering the Chinese have at least 30,000 tons and have been producing 400-500 tons a year for 20 years, the Russians have produced about 300-400 tons for a decade and have about supposedly about 15,000 tonnes, it really doesn't matter. Virtually none of that gold has been exported and is in the accounts of the citizens and various government accounts which aren't reported to the IMF. OPEC+ hold the biggest card. We know the Saudis are accepting Yuan. If they demand gold for oil from the West rather than USD then that 8000 tons is gone quickly .. assuming it's not already leased out or just gone and being worn already by Indian and Chinese consumers.

Why did the government let companies do anything they want ? There's no more capital generation for the middle class in order to make money to spend it. Everything had to go to China and now they're proclaiming China the enemy ? Corporations got everything they wanted.

I totally understand where you're coming from! Growing your portfolio is key. One strategy is to diversify your investments across different assets like stocks, bonds, and high-yield dividend funds. This can help balance the risk and potentially increase your returns. Another great idea is to seek the help of a professional financial advisor like Samuel Peter Descovich. They can provide guidance on how to make the most of your investments.
