One thing some of the sales directors liked was when I came into the intro interview prepared as if I was already working there as a business development rep or account executive… I did enough research to know the right customers… Sizes of companies, industry, prospects, title, etc.… And created a list of companies and people that I found and names on LinkedIn… And tied certain customers they already have as why I chose XYZ companies. *pardon poor grammar as I am talking to text

You went straight in as an account executive from college? No entry level SDR or BDR? What made you different? Plenty people have a degree and can’t start as an AE. Please don’t take in the wrong way, just wondering.

Some of this is good info. In my experience they want metrics. You can razzle on dazzle but what were your numbers?

Aloha Patrick, Huge mahalo to the contents you have posted! I have learned a lot and it did prove beneficial to a recent AE interview with a hiring manager and was offered the role by the end of the call. The feedback that I received from my role play though was “to not ask permission” because it opens a window for them to say no. I even crafted a similar cold call script you had done from previous videos. What do you think of this advise from this sales manager? I’m not sure that’s my sales style but I could use your feedback on that feedback I received. Mahalo, Pauline

Pauline, there is nothing wrong with asking for permission. That is one of my favorite things to do when closing a sale. Looking forward to what Patrick responds with.

Every single company I have been interviewing with has 4 to 5 rounds of interviews, and I have spent 20 hours or so on each creating presentations, videos, assignments, etc.… It is a very obscure job market to say the least… Even though there are plethora openings… Many are in no hurry to hire… Also, noticing a lot of Ghosting by recruiters and a lot less humanity behind the interview process. Of course I always ask for feedback, etc.… PS, pardon poor grammar as I’m talking to text

Sales reps don't close it's the account executive job... Plus they already told you what they want you to do in the job description ... So asking them what they want from you makes you look foolish and will make them think that you didn't even bother to read the job description... Also interviews usually go through 3 rounds, they tell you what your duties are and what they expect from you and what you will be doing as an sdr in the first round ...

Interesting video with some helpful tips, but I don’t like the patronising attitude and the idea that you’re something special, that’s just a fantasy which exists in your head.
