@@fookyu1621 You’re right it was mainly filmed in vine grove/muldraugh, my uncles barber shop is actually in the movie & my uncle was an extra. But yes they would never be allowed in the gold vault complex

The vault that was inspected in 1974 was only one of 33 chambers in the main vault. They were not allowed to see what was in the other 32. It has been so long since there has been an official audit of the gold in Fort Knox, who knows what’s actually there.

What illusion? Diamonds/paper money/bitcoin is no different in what it represents. It has worth because we all agree it has worth. Countries themselves are illusions. America and its rigid borders exist because pieces of paper with words on them say it does and everyone agrees on it. It is based on a system of mutual trust that has existed for as long as society has existed. For all intents and purposes it contains real and true value.

I live 40 minutes away from this place and I can still hear them doing military exercises, like using artillery shells.

One thing to consider is that the Armor School located at fort Knox, relocated to fort Benning about five years ago. The armor school, alot of M1 Abrams battle tanks, were probably guarding the gold also as a side mission so if they left the gold probably left also.

I live about a 20min drive from Ft Knox. I've been in base a few times. I even fish in otter Creek by the armored division. I've drove past the vault building several times. The security there is crazy.

The only problem is, unless something has changed, there's more gold at the NY Gold Reserve where a lot of countries store much (If not all) of their gold as collateral to play in the global finance market. And $380B isn't that much in terms of the US Federal budget which is $4.4 Trillion. That's not enough to run the Fed for a month.

I believe this to be true as well. The secret of no gold is what’s being guarded so tightly. Can you imagine what would happen if proof came out? Our economy would be absolutely ruined. Devastating impacts would be felt across the globe. Our currency which is “backed by gold” would be absolutely worthless.

As of 2016 she took me to the base where we visited the Patton Museum and of course we got to see the building only though from the highway,lol as we were told we were not allowed to take photos. Well guess what, we did take a photo from the highway. Will be going back.

I was just at Fort Knox and the depository has been shut down permanently. You can drive past it and its just surrounded by barbed wire.

It’s literally an active military training ground. FDR was involved in its construction and is the only president to have visited because he was concerned that US Treasury previous bullion depository was vulnerable to possible invasion. In fact many precious historical documents from both Europe/US, along with priceless art, jewels and even the crown of the King of Hungary who said the real ruler of Austria-Hungary was the crown itself! All for safekeeping during the WWII.

Knew a college kid who was hired for a summer to help audit the vault. He says a lot of the bars are only 98.6%, or 23K gold. Not considered good delivery these days!

The thing is, Fort Knox itself isn't any more secretive or guarded than any other military installation - all you need to access it is a valid ID. The gold vault isn't actually on Fort Knox property, but the US Army is in charge of guarding it. If anyone here visits Fort Knox, make sure you don't stop in front of it, and definitely don't take any kind of pictures or video. The MPs will pull you over, search your vehicle and take your camera. And no, it doesn't matter if you're off-post or on-post. Fort Knox is an excellent tourism stop. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend it.
