Methodologically speaking, we will apply an empirical translation formula aimed at precision, namely we will try to correlate with the ancient authors, not merely interpret them. We build a tether, as we present and examine the raw data, applying the principles and paradygm of Western theory and Practice of Translation, while aiming at a high degree of semantic precision. After showing you the literal words, we then apply period cultural contextualization and reach the most appropriate translation possible. Each step being clear and distinct, thus hopefully easy to follow.
To what I present, you can apply whatever interpretation you wish to reach an exhaustive read. I'm not here to change what you think, but to build upon it. To what I offer, you add whatever you feel is right based on your own knowledge and or faith. Let me also remind you. Atheist and Theists alike, you are all welcome here.
Why is it important to Present the Words as they are?
Check these three verses.
Deuteronomy 12:32
See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.
Proverbs 30:5-6
Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
Revelation 22:18-19
...If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.
And coincidently.
Corinthians 13:1 "In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established."

Conclusion
1 - El, Eloah, Elohim
"You shall have no other gods before me" Exodus 20:3
Appearing over 2500 times in the Bible, and mostly found in narrative passages, Elohim is not only the very first name for God we are given, but it's also a central core word within the ancient text. It first appears in Genesis 1:1.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Bereshit bara Elohim et ha shammayim veet ha arez.
Even though it is translated as God, the original word Elohim, is grammatically a plural, and is often preceeded by the article, which disappears in translation.
As we see when we jump in interlinear. Genesis 35:7 con articolo ha Elohim
So "the Elohim" or "The Gods", would be a grammatically accurate litteral translation , taking into consideration the numerical plurality of the word ending, which usually defines masculine plural.
To make the matter even more complex, the term Elohim is followed by both verbs in singular form and verbs in plural form.
2 - Semantic Range of Elohim
Etymologically speaking, so when it comes to the origins and evolution of this word's semantic field through time, there is a very likely connection between the Plural Elohim, and the singulars El and Eloah.
However, the etymology of the word Elohim is believed to be prehistoric, thus the gathering of information is limited at best and often simply outside our reach. As a result, its true meaning and origin are unknown and lost to antiquity. Still, A few educated guesses will be presented.
The word Eloah appears more than 70 times in the old testament, mostly in poetic passages. It could originate from a root with the meaning of to terrify or to be afraid.
The word El which may structurally function as the stem, is what could be more realiably trasnlated as God, singular.
We use the word El many times in our daily lives, sometimes without realising it. The Ending of many names in common use also in the West contain this word, such as angelic derived names. Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel etc. You may find it supricing to know that we also find it in the entertainment industry. See Superman's name Kal-El. It shouldn't surprice us that a being with incredible supernatural powers coming from the sky has EL in his name, considering the fact that the writers and creators of Superman are infact Jews. An interesting fun fact is that the actor that will play the next Superman is also of Jewish origins.

Yes, I saw some horrible low quality video saying that God was really a ‘Canaanite god’ and also was Baal. The Bible literally states that God is the God of Jacob’s descendants, aka Israelites, and also The Bible says that The Lord is against all false idols, including Baal. This KZreadr, however, respects the thoroughly investigated truth. I hope he finds more truth.

Meet the True God. and he has only one Name ✍️ Eph 1:21; above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come ✍️ “Who is God ... but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?-The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. THIS IS MY GOD, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is his name, TO HIM SHALL BE THE OBEDIENCE OF THE PEOPLE’S✍️ These words quoted above were written in Hebrew language sometime around 1000 BCE, i.e.almost 3000 years back ✍️ We have the Islamic God, who is called Allah, while we have the Hindu God’s and Goddesses, whose names are numerous ? ✍️ How do we know Who is God, so that we may worship the one and only True God, rather than going after the so called god’s who is not the True God ? ✍️ What is the litmus test to identify the God ? ✍️Why not we examine the Sacred Writings of the old that dates back 4000 years ? There are many, but I will quote a few of them, so that, you can come to your own conclusion ✍️Jn 4:24; God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth ✍️Numbers 27:16; Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh. How did this God the Spirit communicated with man ?✍️Nehemiah 9:30; Many years you (God) ....warned them by your Spirit through your prophets. Yet they would not give ear.✍️ So God through his prophets warned them.Whom did God warn ?✍️ Isaiah 44:7; Who is like me? Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and set it before me, since I APPOINTED AN ANCIENT PEOPLE. Let them declare what is to come, and what will happen ✍️ Who are this ancient people whom God appointed to declare what God has purposed to do for mankind ? Is it not the Jews, the Israelites? ✍️ Rom 3:1-2; What advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? Much in every way. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God ✍️ Isaiah 44:6; the LORD, THE KING OF ISRAEL and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: I am the first and I am the last; BESIDES ME THERE IS NO GOD ✍️ What or why is Israel special to God ? God established his covenant with Abraham, his son Isaac and his son Jacob. ✍️Genesis 17:1-10: When Abram was ninety-nine years old the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him,“I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless, that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.” Then Abram fell on his face. And God said to him, “Behold, MY COVENANT IS WITH YOU, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you. And I WILL ESTABLISH MY COVENANT BETWEEN ME AND YOU AND YOUR OFFSPRING AFTER YOU THROUGHOUT THEIR GENERATIONS FOR AN EVERLASTING COVENANT, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I WILL BE THEIR GOD.” And God said to Abraham, “As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations. This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised ✍️ What is special about Israel ? Deuteronomy 7:6-8; For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God HAS CHOSEN YOU to be a people for HIS TREASURED POSSESSION, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for YOU WERE THE FEWEST OF ALL PEOPLE’S, but it is because the LORD loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers ✍️ Was it an everlasting covenant? Yes. An everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you ✍️Through whom did God warned his people with whom God made his covenant? Was it not through the prophets of God ? Yes ✍️ ✍️ Did God sent his prophets to Israelites and to Jerusalem or to Mecca and Muslims ? ✍️ Luke 13:33-34; for IT CANNOT BE that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! ✍️ Jeremiah 35:15-16; I have spoken to you persistently, but you have not listened to me. I HAVE SENT TO YOU ALL MY SERVANTS THE PROPHETS, sending them persistently. ✍️ Now I ask these questions to all (1) What has Arabs or Ishmaelite’s to do with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob ? (2) Did God at anytime had any covenantal relationship with them, with Muslims or the followers of Islam? (3) Did God sent his prophets to Israelites and to Jerusalem or to Mecca and Muslims ? (4) What is Mohammed‘s role in God’s plan with mankind ? ✍️ I have heard many Islamic scholars teaching that God has rejected Israel and the Jewish people. Is it not a lie,a blatant lie to deceive the people? Yes. Why ? ✍️ You Muslim’s are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God? You have no knowledge of God Almighty. ✍️When I watched this KZreadr, it is these words from the Sacred Writings came to my mind “FOOLS DESPISE WISDOM and INSTRUCTION” ✍️Numbers 23:19; God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? ✍️ What about the words and the promises of God, do they change over a period of time as a Muslim’s claims of the requirement of a final revelation/ message to Mohammed? Is it not a totally false statement ? ✍️ Romans 11:28-29; But as regards election, they (Jews/Israelites) are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For THE GIFTS and the CALLING OF GOD are irrevocable.✍️ Isaiah 55:11; so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.✍️ Since God’s Covenant with Israel / Jewish people is an “AN EVERLASTING COVENANT THROUGHOUT THEIR GENERATIONS”. tell me you all of Islamic Faith, what the Almighty has promised Israel and for all the surrounding Islamic Nations ? ✍️ Hosea 2:19-20; I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness ✍️ Ezekiel 20:41-42; As a pleasing aroma I will accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered. And I will manifest my holiness among you in the sight of the nations. And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I bring you into the LAND OF ISRAEL, THE COUNTRY that I swore to give to your fathers.✍️ WHEN DID GOD BROUGHT THE JEWISH PEOPLE TO THE LAND CALLED ISRAEL ? Was it not in the twentieth century before the very eyes of surrounding Islamic Nations. ✍️Still you Muslim’s do not believe in the one and only True God, but is after that god whom Mohammed had taught you. ✍️ How wretched are you? Satan and his Prophet has deceived you. Mohammed was a prophet, A FALSE PROPHET, one among the many✍️ How do we know a false prophet ? God has foretold us how to recognize a false prophet? Deuteronomy 18:20; the prophet who...speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die. ✍️ Jn 4:23-24; true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth ✍️ Mat 28:9,17; they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.... when they saw him they worshiped him, but SOME DOUBTED ✍️ Phil 2:9-11; THE NAME THAT IS ABOVE EVERY NAME, so that at the name of YESHUA (Jesus) every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ✍️ Listen you MUSLIMS, the God, whom they (Jews) worshipped, TO HIM SHALL BE THE OBEDIENCE OF THE PEOPLE’S, But I ask you, ARE YOU NOT THOSE DOUBTFUL ONES, REBELLIOUS PEOPLE ✍️Examine yourselves, whether your prophet spoke in the name of other gods. The whole world do know that, but unfortunately, Muslims don’t know the name of God, because His name is NOT Allah. ✍️ Exodus 15:2; God, he has become my salvation. THIS IS MY GOD, and I will praise him, MY FATHER’S GOD, and I will exalt him (Salvation in Hebrew is Yeshua;) ✍️ 1 Jn 5:20; Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life ✍️ Rev 1:7-8; the Almighty. ..😇 Still you 😇 ☪️ are constantly trying to enlighten people about God. How pitiable is the condition of the Gentiles ,for they refuse to meet the True God,and be saved from Eternal Destruction, Eternal Death.

In modern Hebrew, However, 95% say husbend as Baal (Baali), and only a few still say Ishi (both religious and not). the word for wife is 100% still Ishti. we say Ishi, as to express there is no ownership: Book of Hosea 2: 18 (in Hebrew) "And it happened on that day, Yhwh said, call me my men (Ishi) and call me no more my husband (Baali), And I removed the names of the owners(Baalim) from her mouth and they will no longer be remembered in their name"

@@abalogan Baal, or more accurately ba’al is used as a term to mean husband. Ba’ali means “my husband”. Husband and owner are interchangeable. Also, Baal does mean Lord. It depends on the context used. Adon and Adonai are Phoenician words borrowed by Hebrew. A Phoenician speaker and a Hebrew speaker could converse with one another because, the languages were mutually intelligible.

@@metatronyt I have been following one of the Hebrew scholars who worked for the Jerusalem university and he has researched and found the name Yehovah in over a 1000 ancient text, he has never once found yahweh. His explanation for Yaho at the beginning of the name is that Yeho was added as a theoretical name, to other names so you would have had yehonatan...or Jonathan in English....When the Yeho is added to the end of the name like In Natanyah or hallelujah... The Yaho changes to yah and his explanation is the reason why Yahweh has never been found... So it has most likely been preserved as Yehovah in Hebrew and Jehovah in English... incidentally the vowels for adonai are not found in Yehovah or Jehovah, check them out for yourself... If I'm wrong let me know why... And God and almighty and all the other words used to describe him are not names they are titles.... Yeth in the Bible he has described himself as having only one name, A name he has chosen to go on but it describes his character...his name is Nehemia Gordon...and he seem logical in his reasoning.

Masterful I'm glad you mentioned pronunciation as Yehovah and not just Yahweh. I've looked into it a good bit, and I lean towards Yehovah over Yaweh. Even though not many scholars teach the Yehovah pronunciation, but that is largely because academics just follow the established teachings, but more thorough and modern research does seem to point to Yehovah. There are some nice videos on YT about that.

Amazing video as always! ... But I was a little surprised to see, when discussing the tetragrammaton YHWH you only went half way… you did not discuss the meanings of the individual letters of Yod Hay Vav Hey, as these letters where not just sounds to be uttered but also held individual specific meaning. And of course as proven by the way you excellently explained the Numerology of the letters from 8:23 in your video, we can see that there is no accident in the name of God here, or should I say The Lord! Why would we expect their to be any accidents in the name of God.. The fascinating thing is that when you take the individual meanings of each letter of the tetragrammaton you get these meanings : Yod - Arm and Hand / Work or Deed. Hey - Lo! Behold!. Vav - Nail or Peg “And”. And once again, Hey - Lo!Behold! So the very name of God as written in the tetragrammaton points to a deed that was done, that involved a hand or wrist and a nail…. Sounds very familiar don’t you think? And surely you would recognise that there are no coincidences this glaringly obvious with in the impecible design, numerology and structure of the Hebrew alphabet and words. It all has meaning. Does the very name of God point to the Cross? I would be interested in your opinion. Thanks once again for the great content. Still praying for you and your family !

Wow as an Hebrew speaker I've never thought about Elohim as a plural form, we always refer to it as a singular. A small correction the word "adonay" its not a plural form but a form of association. (in a biblical Hebrew) "adon" - "lord" or "master". "adonay" - "my lord" or "my master". same as "Elohay" - "my God" maybe we can imply the same logic on the name "Shadday". There's another word in Hebrew that appears a lot in the old testament and can associate to Elohim or can also be mistaken to: the Word "El" (אַל) - "to" or "towards".

Elohim Adirim? אלוהים אדירים come on, always singular? used plural, implied One Adoni is singular. Adonai is plural (grammatically at least). Implied as God is One and Many in itself He also didn't mention Zevaoth - Adonai Zevaoth when referred to God of host and armies. He used Shadday in that sense. I kinda amused a thought that Shadday could be Elohim she-Dai, as in That Enough, Self-sufficient and independent. but the Tnuot wrecked me :)

Thats all good and well, and Ive watched Nehemiahs presentation as well, but paleo hebrew didn't have a V sound so most likely it was yehowah or yehoweh.

I wouldn't be surprised if you end up translating the whole Bible, with this series. Bravo and thanks for all the hard work, you and those involved in the making of this video. Really fascinating. You're really a pro. Near the end, it seems the chapters indicators are showing the wrong ones, 19:26, 20:36 , 20:57. Sorry for bothering with this tiny detail, while the rest of the video is well constructed. I guess it's my autistic nature. Anyway, may you and everybody here, have a good day. The same to your family and friends. Take care, and bless you all.

"I wouldn't be surprised if you end up translating the whole Bible", Bro, you have no clue how hard that is. I speak native hebrew, and teach this stuff. I don't understand all the lines. some are hotly, hotly contested, in their hebrew, Some..we plainly don't know what the words mean or meant. It's a dead languge, some words are lost to time.
