“People still want to throw Him off a cliff.” Likewise, we shouldn’t be surprised if people want to throw us, His followers, off of a cliff. As the Son of God says, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” (John 15:18-19)

It’s crazy how a man who’s done no bad and isn’t rebellious in the slightest is the coolest guy to have ever lived

It's actually reflective of society today. The people who are traditional and religious are considered the biggest rebels in society today. And a lot of us speak about world control, which is true, but not accepted by society. Many Jews in his time were also not accepting of Jesus, and still consider him a most damaging false prophet. Jews can't even acknowledge that he was a guy who gave good advice which lasted the test of time, and entire civilizations were built around his teachings.

unfortunately, this is how men of God are treated. I was treated like this growing up. People want to hold onto false power, beliefs, and control. They want to remain slave to it. I never been to jail, traveled and did good works, have a masters degree, etc. but people still treat me like a criminal for upholding the truth. Weird times.

The guy who sends people to burn alive forever and has commited dozens of genocides, and allowed thousands of genocides, has done no bad? The bible itself says God is the creator of all evil, and all dark. Granted it says all Good as well, but he clearly takes credit for ALL EVIL. So everything ever done that is bad is done by God. Jesus stopped just short of telling Rabbi Benjamin that the date and circumstances of His earthly departure have already been pre-set---but not by him and not today..The ending nod by Jesus to the Father in Heaven was a fitting conclusion !!!

This was a great moment in the show. It showed he had no fear at all. He about to be tossed off a cliff and before they even got to him he steps forward looks them dead in the eyes and says. This not gone happen today and the walks away calmly. It shows how brave he was.

The enemy has absolutely no control or say so, he’s been defeated, he’s our footstool. I too have this same confidence, I know nothing will happen to me unless The Father ok it thur my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When or if something happens I thank Him In Jesus mighty name, good or bad because His Will was done. And I get up everyday very content with that, it’s one of the privileges of being an obedient servant. satan and his soldiers can’t touch me, it’s up to God, Jesus and me what goes on in my kingdom.

I think one of the most powerful parts about this scene is when Jesus has tears in his eyes and says, "Then I cannot save you." Imagine a Father saying this to His children because they will not accept His words or His salvation. This scene was so tastefully done!

That includes writing lines of dialogue that obviously aren't in the scripture (and they aren't pretending it is) but aren't outside the realm of plausibility for how the entire conversation _could have_ occurred. The book of Hebrews makes it clear that Jesus is NOT the law of Moses; but the mediator of a "new covenant." Chapter 9:15. And Hebrews states, "He sets aside the first to establish the second" in chapter 10 verse 9. The Chosen is deceiving you all, just as Eve was deceived by Satan in the garden because she did not remember God's word and therefore misquoted what God said and fell for a clever lie wrapped in partial truth.

It’s only in the Book of Mormon that Jesus said “I am the Law of Moses”, and the Chosen is like 52-56% owned by Mormons. This bugged me for like 30 seconds, but now I don’t care. What’s important is the message and how the show moves me to want to live as Jesus taught us, not who has a controlling interest in the show. As Dallas Jenkins said, this show is not meant to replace scripture. It’s entertainment, but it’s also the most profound and impactful entertainment that we’ve ever seen. Besides Passion Of The Christ that is. I just love how this show humanizes and deifies Jesus at the same time.

@@williamschlass6371 While Jesus was on earth, Heaven was not empty. God is a trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. You have to understand God is outside of time and space. He views everything at all times at once. God limited his power when he came to earth as a man. Jesus was God but in human form. Jesus felt time the same way we do. He felt pain, hunger, suffering just like any man. Yes Jesus is a part of God's trinity, but he is also God the Father's Son.

"...I cannot save you" This scene is so powerful. You can see the actual pain and sorrow in His eyes as he so desperately wants to save all people because of his absolute love for his children, but His heart breaks knowing that many of them would not welcome His salvation.

This is one of, if not THE most powerful 💖 moment in the entire series! The Lord Jesus laid it right in front of them all when He said, "I AM the Law of Moses." And watching that scene, made me realize I could be even bolder than I've already been in my faith, because Jesus put it all out there for me, and everyone else! He IS the Word of God made flesh, and His Word IS truth, praise Adonai!!🙌✡📖✝🕊

I enjoyed the scene too. It feels "figuratively" correct. But nowhere in the Bible is Jesus quoted as saying he is the Law of Moses. It's important to keep this in mind while watching the show, that much of the dialogue and "color" are fictional accounts, and we should view them as theater, not scripture. Looking at it another way, if Jesus is and was the Son and is and was God, he most certainly is the law. But did Jesus the man say it? We can't say that he did.

IF you hate it, don't watch it, but DO NOT criticize us who appreciate what Dallas Jenkins has done to make a TV show about the Lord Jesus and his disciples. And btw, I AM not only a Servant of the Most High, but a daughter of His, and I AM a student of sound biblical Scripture, having learned the ancient languages as He has commanded me to go to school and learn, so I would know better what the Scripture writers were actually trying to convey to their readers. 1. Bible says Jesus is the Word of God [Revelation 19:13] and the Law of Moses is the word of God. Therefore Jesus is the Law of Moses. “The law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” [John 1:17] 2. Bible says Jesus have not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill them [Matthew 5:17]. The same thing is said in the Book of Mormon, it says Jesus have not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill them "Behold, I do not destroy the prophets, for as many as have not been fulfilled in me, verily I say unto you, shall all be fulfilled" [3 NEPHI 15:6] 3. Bible says Jesus is the law. Mormon just copied the bible verses, So it has nothing to do with Mormon Doctrine "For if you believed and relied on [the Scriptures written by] Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me [personally]. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” [John 5:46-47]

Perhaps the part in this scene that touched my heart the most is when Jesus says that He can not save us unless we accept we are spiritually poor, captives, and blind... amazing. This scene in the "Chosen" beautifully truly exposes that Theological 'maxim' that has to do with the primacy of the human will: God will save me only if I repent... amazing. Jesus is beyond words... can't wait to see Him and be with Him in His Glory forever

So powerful how he stopped them from killing him just by willing it. They just stood there as he walked away. A miracle took place right in front of their eyes and probably none of them saw it. That how it goes.

This scene is one of my all time favorites on the Chosen. Jesus says, "I am not here for vengence. I am here for salvation." So powerful and to the point. And the ultimate icing on the cake when Jesus says, "I am the law of Moses." Oh halelujah! I can only imagine being there and hearing those precious, holy powerful words Jesus spoke at that very moment! Praise his holy name! 🙏🕊️ This entire scene was very well acted out. Well done everyone

@kst2456 The line “I am the law of Moses” was never said by Jesus because it was not in the Bible. He said he came to fulfill the law but he never said he WAS the law. In fact, that line is more similar to a verse from the Book of Mormon. There are a lot of unbiblical lines and events and storylines in The Chosen. I would encourage you to read your Bible thoroughly especially the Gospels and filter The Chosen through God’s Word.

Growing up in a Catholic family, I always believed, but then things happened in my life, and I lost my belief. But since I found this show and starting watching it since it came out, I feel a new sence of faith.

Jesus IS present in the Holy Eucharist, He has been waiting for you there in the tabernacle and for you to receive Him in the Mass. Receive His mercy in the sacrament of confession first, and afterwards, receive His most holy precious body and blood in the holy sacrifice of the Mass. God wants us to be one with Him in body and in spirit. God bless you!

I love how she starts to cry because she realizes her son is the Son of God and what that means for her (and for the world). And Jesus' statement to Rabbi Benjamin gives me chills. When I saw it as I watched it live, I gasped. Such a beautiful and powerful statement! I AM was in their midst. ❤

Actually in this scene the sisters of Lazarus, Mary and Martha, are seated next to Mary. The believer you speak of is Ramah who at this time is bethroed to Thomas.

One of lazarus’ sisters is sitting down, the other one is standing up and she’s the one I’m referring to. I’ve watched this show so many times I know I’m correct.

And Dallas has never read the Book of Mormon, meaning it was actually a coincidence. As I said before, it was something written in the Spirit of Biblical words.

The Holy Spirit is working and speaking to me through this show. This is so powerful amen

When Jesus says, "I Am the Law of Moses", my entire soul swelled up with joy. To hear Lazarus tell Jesus that he is not helping a situation made me laugh so loudly. It was like John the Baptist's unexpected "YEAH!!!!!" after Jesus expelled the demon from the posessed man entering their camp.

I love this scene especially when JESUS says "I am the law of Moses " Powerful!

The word ‘law’ as used in the Old Testament comes from the Hebrew word ‘Torah’ meaning instruction. The Torah was revealed by God to Prophet Moses and thus is considered to be the word of God. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" [John 1:1] Bible says God is the Word.Therefore He is the Law of Moses. When Jesus was in the form of God, He was not under the Law, He is the Law himself. Instead, he emptied himself by taking on the form of a servant, by becoming like other humans, by having a human appearance. This series is so incredibly well cast, from the leads all the way down to the supporting cast. Episode after episode, filled with such great acting and powerful scenes. Christian stories are so easy to do poorly, and yet every episode of this series so far, they just nail it. Very well done. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

When Jesus answered, "Yes," thst brought shivers to my spine & joy to my soul but also fear because I knew a lot of them would not respond correctly. I'm so glad Jesus came here for me (making it personal), 1st, then for the world. 😍🥰

I love the part when Benjamin said “JESUS” If you do not renounce your words we will have no choice but to follow the law of Moses and JESUS answered him saying I AM THE LAW OF MOSES.😅 One thing about my JESUS is that he always blows the mind♥️🙌🏾Prasie be to JESUS for he reigns forever ♥️

Even with fake made up quotes that are just for TV.

This entire scene and scenario is so important to see in the show, because so many don't realize how severe it was for Jesus speaking the words He spoke. Even though we know that it was His mission to sacrifice His life. A lot of people wanted Him dead out of their own blindness and ignorance. Yet He died for them all 😢. And it hurt Him that they were unwilling to accept his invitation of salvation.

One of the most fascinating aspects of this production is how believable and grounded they portray Jesus. The intervening 2000 years of art and general reverence makes it hard to believe how the people of that time could have rejected Him, but seeing His mortal life (& the context of it) portrayed in such a way puts the situation in a new light. This scene is a good example of that.

The show is going to save a lot of people by finally showing things in a realistic light and thus making it relatable beyond the dooming feel of the medieval English version of the original translations. That wall that felt like it was in between the reader and the words is finally made clear and allows people who read further to get and understand some of the things blocked by these barriers. This is all part of in the later years how "knowledge (and understanding) will increase."

I love how Jesus protects the Blessed Virgin Mary when trouble brews up. Such a great scene. And the confidence of Jesus to walk past them just as they are going to push him off the cliff with that smirk as he walks away and looks up to His Father...awesome touch.

If He denied His words, they would’ve had a leg to stand on with the claim that He was falsely prophesying. As it was, because He stood by what He said, they couldn’t do anything. The specific law of the time states that someone is a false prophet if their prophecies don’t come true, but since everything Jesus was prophesying was for the future, there was nothing to prove yet.

Oh, how I love this scene! Can you imagine what it was like for Jesus to read His own words as a man to this gathering of His family, friends, and teacher? All that was prophesied about Him is unfolding, and the heart-felt pain as they (those who knew Him best) denied who He was and that He should be punished. Jesus reminds us in this action that we must continue to hold fast to His hand even as our families and friends reject the depth of faith we are called to. Well done, The Chosen Team, for telling of this Truth so beautifully and honestly. Let everyone chose this day whom they will serve.

Therefore Jesus is the Law of Moses. “The law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” [John 1:17] 2. Bible says Jesus have not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill them [Matthew 5:17]. The same thing is said in the Book of Mormon, it says Jesus have not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill them [3 NEPHI 15:6] 3. Bible says Jesus is the law. Mormon just copied the bible verses, So it has nothing to do with Mormon Doctrine "For if you believed and relied on [the Scriptures written by] Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me [personally]. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” [John 5:46-47]

The book of Hebrews makes it clear that Jesus is NOT the law of Moses; but the mediator of a "new covenant." Chapter 9:15. And Hebrews states, "He sets aside the first to establish the second" in chapter 10 verse 9. The Chosen is deceiving you all, just as Eve was deceived by Satan in the garden because she did not remember God's word and therefore misquoted what God said and fell for a clever lie wrapped in partial truth.

I love this series. I love Jesus Christ. I do not ask anything of you Lord Jesus Christ except to show me what you want me to do in this life to honour you and our Lord God. Send me your signs ❤🙏

Powerful. I love you Jesus. You are my teacher, my path, my salvation. Please dont turn me away at the gates but more important, bring my enemies to you before me and show them what youve given me. Praise God for working through the Chosen bringing people closer to Jesus Christ. Wow, wow!

This series has inspired me to read the Bible...watching the apostles interact with Jesus has made me feel closer to all of them, and makes me want to read about experiences through their eyes. It's amazing that God actually walked this Earth, interacted with all walks of life, and ultimately created a way for us to spend eternity with him, through his sacrifice.

Mathew , an apostle, allegedly, wrote his gospel. I chose the end of Mathew and the only place Jesus spoke of the three persons of the trinity in the same breath. Mathew 28:16-20... Did Jesus really say this to his apostles??? Tell me ... What are the 4 or 5 things he tells them in these verses and who is he speaking to?

I was just re watching this yesterday, and with earphones on. I feel like I could feel the tension! Something I overlooked the first time I watched it. The realness to Jesus's childhood friends, and how they turned against him. The panic in his mother Mary... I could feel all that emotion. I know his crucifixion is coming in this series and It's making me so sad, realizing even more the realness of what he did for us.

My heart aches over this scene & the lack of understanding. But the big question in my mind is where would I have stood in this crowd; supportive or condemning? Done so beautifully to draw me closer to Jesus!

Amid the comments, you acknowledged the fallen nature we all have, and what we will do in that pivotal moment when things go to hell, literally, and we're told to deny Christ. I'd rather die here at the hands of evil, then to deny Christ... ever. Frightening as it will be.

Most were fearful, anxious, Some were furious.Only Mary the sister of Lazurus stood smiling AND amazed at HIS WORDS- secure in WHO HE SAYS HE IS!

I love this scene as a reminder that everything happens in God's timing, not the timing of the world. Love this scene and the end line, "Not today..." He knew that His death was coming but He had work left to do and wasn't going to let others overtake Him until it was for God's plan and timing to proceed!

I’ve recently been consistently reading the New Testament and now have a better understanding as to what this scene actually means. Knowing the context is life-changing and opens your eyes to the true mystery of the gospel. I can’t believe I’ve been circling around the Old Testament for 25yrs hoping to one day make it to the New Testament, although occasionally reading a book or 2 from there, and ultimately only reading up to the book of Numbers. But now the truth is being fully revealed to me and now understand “why” things happened the way they did. Planning to be done with the New Testament by the end of this month, reading 1-3 books per day. And beginning the new year will try to complete the old testament readings, finally! Goal is to read the whole bible by the end of 2024, if God wills it. Peace be with you all! I beseech you to seek his word daily, at least one chapter a day (context is vital)! ❤ In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

It's perfectly plausible to read the entire Bible in 2 months, so I'm sure you will do it easily in one year (3-4 chapters per day). The grace and peace of our Lord and God Jesus Christ be with you in your project... But I'm a bit surprised that you didn't know that Jesus the Messiah is in the center of everything, and the key for understanding all the Scriptures. All Jewish sages back then, and all Christians since then, have said that the Scriptures from the very first word (b'reshiit - in the beginning; in the firstborn; through the head; cf. Colossians 1:15-18) to the very last word are about the Messiah.

That is true! Although at the very end of the scene, just before Jesus went away from the mob at the cliff, Rafi looked really embarrassed and remorseful.. His face visibly changed when Jesus looked him in the eyes and said "Rafi.. " with such sadness and disappointment.

@@Cross4Saved89 I think you have misunderstood. I, nor nobody else has said these words were directly quoted from the Bible. It’s a TV show script, which is based on biblical life stories. Just like any TV show based on life stories the script dialog is written to emphasize the importance of the scene or event. This scene Jesus is proclaiming his authority, which back then the authority was the law of Moses based on a combination of scriptures from Matthew 13:54-58, Mark 6:1-6, John 7 and other scriptures surrounding Jesus rejection by people. In Luke 4:13-30, Jesus was lead out of the temple to be thrown off a cliff and then walk right through the crowd, because it wasn’t his time to die, so that why the script made such a bold dialog. We who read and study the Holy Bible basically know what is or is not in it. We don’t know everything, but we basically know where to find it or how to search scripture. Not that it should matter, but no, I am not of the Mormon belief. All that matters is I am a Child of God, saved by Grace through accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. If you are the same, then I suggest you should be thankful, like I am, this biblical based show is leading more people to actually study the Bible. Some people are reading the Bible for the very first time because of what they saw on the show and they want to learn more. Some are seeking out faith based churches to attend after watching The Chosen show. People from around the world are doing Google searches to learn if the characters in the show are in fact actually mentioned in the Bible, which leads them to read scripture. The main thing that you and I as a Christians should be thankful for is, this show is leading people to know who Jesus is and the salvation He offers to everyone. God’s word does not go out and come back void (“so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭11‬ ‭ KJV‬‬). The way I see it is if God wants to use a biblical based show to get people’s attention, He will, and who are we to say differently. Yes, read the Bible, know God’s truth directly from His Holy Word. As for The Chosen show, sit back, watch it, enjoy it and give God the glory for any good that He chooses to bring from it. Peace and blessings to you.

@@kimartist I trust the Good Lord knows exactly what He wanted recorded in the Bible and it's perfect just like the Lord. Have you read the Bible? Jesus is a part of Trinity, in Christian doctrine, the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three persons in one Godhead. The doctrine of the Trinity is considered to be one of the central Christian affirmations about God. So obviously The Lord gave Moses the Law 10 Commandments. The Lord provided the Law and made the Law.

I am glad to believe in Jesus. He is my savior and my salvation

The book of Hebrews makes it clear that Jesus is NOT the law of Moses; but the mediator of a "new covenant." Chapter 9:15. And Hebrews states, "He sets aside the first to establish the second" in chapter 10 verse 9. The Chosen is deceiving you all, just as Eve was deceived by Satan in the garden because she did not remember God's word and therefore misquoted what God said and fell for a clever lie wrapped in partial truth.

It is speaking on how Jesus is the ultimate High Priest (alluding back to the high priests in the Old Testament that mediated on behalf of God’s people). He is named many things in the Bible; Jesus is not ONLY a mediator but that is one of his many facets.
