Jonathan Roumie (as Jesus) is an incredible actor. He never fails to deliver. I had full body chills re-watching those scenes.

Jesus’ words are as true today as they were then. People still reject them and distort them and misunderstand them. The Chosen is beautifully done, so worth watching.

"Jesus" doesn't understand difference between ritual uncleaness and sin. Historical Pharisees or essenes for that matter weren't priests but teachers and didn't care too much about rituals and cleaness (saducees did) but about their interpretation of Torah

Their job was not only to teach the word, but to run the temple based on the law of Moses given by God the Father. Their failure began when they became too heavily focused on the law, so much that they ignored God's teachings of grace and mercy. Today's pharisees are the catholic church, and any church that limits it's perspective instead of focusing on God and his word the Bible. Building the relationship with the Almighty. When you seek after God, you push yourself to be obedient to the law, not because of it, but instead because you desire to be nearer to Him.

4 days ago I was on my knees and I said "God come and get me because I am weak and I will go to sin again .. I want to be with you but the world keeps me from you and makes me sin every day and I am not strong enough to fight back but you do you can come and you will not even have to fight because just the idea that you standing next to me will make every bad thought go away so come and get me and don't let me go away from you again" so it has been 4 days now and videos from the chosen are what give me strength I ask you to pray for me to keep me standing next to god

Hi brother, just wanted to leave you with some encouragement and truth. I don't how much of the chosen you've watched but (even though it's not the Bible itself which I highly recommend reading) there was a message in a episode that stuck to me. Mary Magdalene, had just witnessed a demon cast out of a man and it left her kind of what I would call traumatized. She went to the pub she used to go to when she was possessed and was gambling and if I'm not mistaken got drunk also, long story short she went back to Christ (ashamed to face Him again) and the actor playing Jesus said (and I'm gonna paraphrase) did you think that after following me, you'de never sin again? I mention this because one. Right after saying that, Christ forgave and 2. Because I want you to be encouraged that you can and will make it through. If you slip, repent and keep going, but don't take this as a ticket to sin, just try not to be so hard on yourself because reality is, non of us no matter how perfect we try to be are making it to heaven based off our works but ENTIRELY because of the death and resurrection of Christ. Believing in Christ isn't the gift. That's how you accept the gift but what Christ did for you, He is the gift. I pray that God sends you on the path He has created you to walk on. Continue to run this race and fight the good fight of faith. God bless ❤

The Pharisees didn't put him to death. The temple leadership under Caiaphus were all Sadduccee. They didn't believe in a Jewish Messiah from the get go. Jesus was a economic threat to them and a political threat to Rome. Jesus actually taught from Pharaisee tradition. The antisemitism in these comments are disgusting.

I had a printed picture of Jesus in my bag and a bunch of poetry and sketches as well. Sitting down in an enraged state I contemplated on going to the local store and purchasing a beer. In a rage I took all the papers out of my bag and threw them on the little bridge I was sitting on. The bridge has a gate on it(one of the ones that you see going over highways, that allows people to cross the highway). With all of the papers on the ground by where I sat, I decided to take the picture of Christ up. There was an older guy approaching me on a mobilized scooter. I began to think, maybe this guy needs to see the picture of Christ, because you never know what someone is going through and it may restore their faith. Well, I ended up placing the picture of Jesus on the left side of me, it was a pretty windy day. I needed something to hold the picture down and there were alot of empty bottles and other junk on this little bridge. Alot of the homeless population and many other people lounge around on the bridge. I spotted an old broken portable speaker and an Arizona Bottle. I placed the speaker on one end of the paper and the Arizona Bottle on the other end. As I looked at the bottle holding down the picture of Jesus Christ that I printed I realized that the Arizona bottle had the words NO highlighted in red on the back of the bottle. The older gentleman approached me and picked up an empty beer container at that same instance. In that moment I thought maybe God is trying to tell me No Beer. Lord knows I have been praaying for sobriety. Was that God answering my prayers on that day? Another day with no alcohol. Also, right in front of that little spot is an open field with 3 red crosses in the field. The field is like a little sanctuary on the block named Emmanuel Street. There are many churches on this street. Oh and the bridge that I was sitting on has a clearance height of 16 feet 3 inches. 16 3 are the same as John 316. I cannot make any of this stuff up. I have experienced many other events but I rather not go into anymore details.

Jesus still heals us in spirit mind and body. He protects and uplifts. Just call on Him let go of your will and wait on Him. I prayed to be delivered and even though i was utterly addicted, my urge was lifted from me.

Everyone please pray for the devil to be removed from me forever and to never come back. It would mean the world to me if the devil is removed from me forever. I don’t want him here. I want Gods presence and Holy Spirit to be with me fully at all times

I also pray for you. Fight back in the spirit with the Word of God. Play scripture continuously wherever you are, go to KZread and find spoken Scripture (the Psalms 27, 23, 91, 35 etal, the New Testament) find the KZread ones that play for hours) and keep it playing, while you are asleep, in the background. Immerse yourself in it. It will help dispel the evil forces until you are completely delivered.

If you are born again you are already set free. I like this Jesus. A man. Strong assertive man. Divine Lord. But dominant based man who bluntly speaks the truth and does not worry about whose feelings get hurt. What a boss. The only boss I submit to.

Ive binge watched the series 1-3 three times now and am holding my breath waiting for series 4. I went to buy the DVDs but the postage to NZ is $93 USD! 😢

Our problem has always been we think we're God we just didn't understand what Jesus Christ was saying he talked in parables he teached they never got past Moses we think we understand what the scriptures say I finally am beginning to understand what Jesus was saying

This was Jesus’ way of saying that the priests were full of it, they have blinded themselves from the word of GOD with their greed, their vanity and their pompous piety they lack mercy even though it was the LORD God who showed them mercy when their enemies came upon them and now they show known to those who really need it

"Jesus, you're not helping" is a line I was not expecting. Regardless, this series has made me have awe for those who were able to be in the presence of the Lord and to hear first hand his teachings.

In a sense I think you're generalizing too much and in another sense generalizing not enough. Too much, because there are a lot of loving, servant hearted pastors and other religious leaders out there. Too little, because I think the phenomenon of abusive leadership isn't specific to religion; it's a danger found in a variety of community leadership positions, secular as well as religious. But regardless I agree that Jesus' words are relevant. And challenging for today.

Theres something about this show that doesn’t make me want to watch it, and I’m 100% Christian. No doubt there’s a lot of hypocrites and evil hearted people on the production of this show. It was exposed at one point if you search where LGBTQ flags were seen on set that was placed by some of the crew members, also the ‘star’ of the show Jonathan roumie is a necromancer, he ‘spoke’ to the dead person he portrayed in the movie ‘Jesus revolution’, the same person who was also a homosexual in real life . Read the bible and forget watching this TV show stuff, you’re being deceived.

They were afraid of losing their jobs and power over the people, his coming was proclaimed over 400 years before read Isaiah 53 , they refused to accept him even after all his miracles , they called for his death and said let his blood be on us and our children. Till this day, that's all they care about the 613 Laws. Anything outside of that is wrong to them. They never heard the message Jesus was giving them because all they were concerned about was the law. Same thing today.

Wait , you left out that JESUS chose twelve men to become Apostles and empowered those men to speak as one with GOD. You left out the seventy two men who were called disciples and those men were empowered to teach and preach with the authority of JESUS. So the powder keg is that JESUS never commissioned any Protestant church to do anything !

The twelve that JESUS chose is what JESUS made the decision to make Peter the one over all the twelve. Interesting there are more recorded encounters in the gospels with Pharisees vs Sadduccees & other groups. It could show that Jesus was closer in terms of scripture interpretation with them than the rest. we tend to argue with those who are closer to our thinking :-) In that first scene as recorded in matthew 11, vs11-12 are one of the most challenging passage to translate and understand because of the Hebraic background
