The True Cost behind a $1 House (Abandoned Church School)
Travelers in Time: France (Episode 06) Pensionnat Joseph Vacher
Throwback to the 1930s: the abandoned place in this video used to be a boarding school for boys. Today, however, only ruins are left. The college is destroyed and overgrown. What is the story behind all of this? We time-traveled to France again to find out what has happened and what is still to come. Join our journey into decay! #urbex #abandonedplaces #bwturbex
Can we save this derelict boarding school? ► This hidden gem is called Collège Saint-Benoît and is located in Ardouane, Riols (in the South of France). An association has already been formed aiming to save this place, but it still needs financially strong investors. Can you help, or do you know somebody who could?

Your crew has lived so may lives spanning centuries. Pretty awesome ! Have a great holiday yourselves !!
These are the saddest explores of all, to see glimmers of former beauty that is fading and tarnished with no hope. Still, they are intriguing! I loved the tree rings. I don't think I have ever made it to the center counting either. Another wonderful video from wonderful explorers!!🤗

@@BrownEyePinch Maybe with crowd funding....even an extension ...of the window channel....crowd funders from all over the world can make a kind of money to restore these places. And keep them .
Really enjoyed this episode - thanks for having a close eye on all the hidden details and perspectives of these structures. I really liked the shot at 6:29 - two layered window revealing the inside. Also very intuitive is the Dia-Show effect when showing the historic photos. Also great is the amount of work you put into the voice-over and history telling - thank you very much for that. Merry christmas and I wish you a lot of surprising explorations and always cooperative neighbors of the abandoned structures.
Excellent cinematography again folks! I especially like that whole intro part of the Church in ruins segment with the panning through windows and the lighting on the stained glass etc., beautifully done, thanks for putting in the work and sharing these videos! They're definitely something I look forward to and have yet to be disappointed. Kudos.

I follow a few explorers and sometimes I miss their videos, but I never miss these guys'!
There is something beautiful in the architecture of this period…and in the way Nature inexorably takes it back. Those who designed and built this intended it to last, but nothing we make will last forever, and Nature will always find a way. It was sad to see such an ancient Mother Tree cut down and left to lay like that, but Her body will give life and shelter to other creatures as the years pass. I wish you all a good Yuletide filled with health and happiness, and a joyful Winter Solstice. Stay safe out there.🖤🇨🇦
The production quality keeps improving, particularly the intro. But what I love most is the beautifully moving messages in the narration.
Great storytelling!!

Great story and beautiful photography, as always. Isn’t it amazing how the roof and walls of the chapel are mostly destroyed, but the stained glass windows endure? I see they are set in deep enclosures, and that must offer some protection. Such beautiful colors in the glass, Ss well as the colors and patterns of decaying walls. It was kinda scary hearing the creaks as Til explored the upper level. I wondered if this would be the video when we watch a wall or floor collapse. But no, so happy you guys always come out safely again. Phew! Merry Urbexmas and happy exploring in 2022.

It seems such a waste to see these buildings abandoned and forgotten! The cost to restore would be in the millions to get it back to its former glory, money to invest in this project and upkeep would be phenomenal and would need lots of investors to get this up and running again. Look forward to more abandoned sites for next year and have a safe and Merry Xmas!

Hi from Australia. The Mayor of the this village where this old school is, should be prosecuted. For allowing such a beautiful historic building and church to fall into such disrepair, and almost complete ruin. It’s a disgrace. I certainly hope French citizens see these important videos. Because you guys are actually documenting for historical purposes for the future, of what the French government and other countries are not spending money on. Well done!!!

Yes that picture of the stain glass before it was gotten worse I love it because the person who designed it was a very great artist and stuff like this is priceless as it is whole together instead of breaking apart this is why I think it is beautiful artwork in that time period and I can make a big painting of it on canvas if I had the money I could make it just as it was in stain glass

Such a weird contrast, seeing all the trash people left in that place, whilst the walls themselves are decorated with graffiti from people who wanted to express themselves in the most grandiose ways they can, yet in the most hidden of places.

Cool, sounds fascinating. Let us know if it works out!
I think even if someone had a billion dollars, this property is beyond repair. Just for safety reasons, it cannot be fixed. It would take a total reconstruction by bulldozing everything and just starting again using the same plans or building lay-out. What I find sad though, is that someone should have removed the beautiful stained glass windows and preserved them somewhere or put them into a sculpture for the town...perhaps even a protected marker where the building used to be. That is easy enough to raise the funds for.
Beautiful video. m I the only one who wondering how there are so many books ( which are good condition)? This place abandoned in 80s. All these papers survive for so long? How?
BTW.. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A GREAT NEW YEAR!
Very beautiful countryside where this is located. If vandals did not destroy, it would take longer for mother nature to reclaim. I have never figured out what makes people do this to things that do not belong to them. Stay Safe and have a Happy and Relaxing Holidays. See you in 2022.

Thanks for your comment. I think it's the local youth going there to party and let off some steam. Merry UrbeXmas!
The stairs to the roof gave me a laugh, technically, you're already on the roof...
At this point it would be much cheaper to tear down to the foundation and rebuild. If it's your money being used to restore the property then do as you like, but not with public funds.
The few remaining stained glass needs to be saved😥
