Exploring an Abandoned Palace that was featured in 53 Films

Abandoned Italy (Season 3, Episode 02) Stairway to Seventh Heaven
"A paradise by the sea" is what Italians call an abandoned palace towering over their town. This one-hundred-year-old building was featured in several dozen movies, always presented in the most glamorous way possible. But today, it all lies deserted - even though this is the community's most historically-important structure. Our team traveled to Italy to sneak inside and discover the unknown. Join our exploration where we try to unveil this old world hidden from modern society. #urbex #abandonedplaces #bwturbex

Sorry guys, but currently, you have to wait longer than usual for our new videos to come out. That's because there is so much going on! We went to Austria for our first exploring trip of 2022. Also, I (Marco) am moving to Leipzig, which is the town where Till is based, too. Here we will edit a big documentary film we shot in 2021 while we are also working on the regular uploads. And don't forget that this is the last chance to grab a copy of our 2022 Urbex Calendar. Thanks for your great support! ► Shop: www.bwturbex.com

This episode was really amazing and made me happy to know they are restoring it🥰. And the fact that some people don't care that you trespass...Might be because they see cameras and imagine it's only pictures and videos and that you're not there to damage property.

I’m thankful for the videos that you do because all of our history around the world is falling into decay and your documentation of it all is allowing many of us to see it and hear stories that we never would have been able to. Thank you for publishing your spoken art. The stories bring melancholy but also they may teach a lesson to our future generations that such extravagant buildings may not be needed and appreciation of family and considerations of others is the most important thing in life.

What a magnificent example of refined architecture and style this palace is. Between your cinematic approach, and Tobi’s carefully framed and lit photos, you draw us back to the days of grandeur and stateliness. Each video from you is immersive, an experience of being there, one feels textures and the musty scent of abandoned places. It is sad to see places like this being left to Nature’s hand. I am pleased to hear they have found resources to restore this one, and I hope they do it justice. There are so many stories and human moments etched into its walls. Thank you for this.🖤🇨🇦

What a beautiful old building was quite sad each room you all went to and seeing the decay happening, thought another one bites the dust! But then good news to say its going to be restored and utilized once again. It seems more and more old buildings left to rot away around the world and even here in Australia. Our history forgotten and left in disrepair! Be safe while you guys are out there exploring and look forward to more wonderful places you discover.

Once again an amazing video. Another sad reminder of a bygone age, of beauty, grace and sophistication. Replaced with bland homogeneous utilitarian architecture, if you can call most modern buildings architectural. Tragic that in this the so called " Modern era " we continue to lose the gems of the past. Again if the owners of a historic building will not or cannot afford the upkeep of that structure nationalize it for the benefit of future generations to enjoy. As time goes by these buildings will become priceless, that is is we don't destroy ourselves first.

Speaking of costs and repairs, I've recently been to a 300-year-old cellar with lavish decorations (you can do it legally, it's the Kornhauskeller in Bern). The ceiling and walls are painted, but the ceiling is falling down and they requested help from the government to fix it but it's been already a year after the flood that caused the damage and nothing has happened and they can't just go to a regular construction company, as it's a protected monument and not many companies could restore the decorations...

Same in Italy. Everything has to go through the "Soprintendenza ai beni culturali". If they don't have the money, they don't authorize any interventions. Years can pass before they get the funds and the work can begin. Many buildings have died inglorious deaths like this.

Okay, here was the first comment. The imagery was fantastic! I always like that your videos engage my senses and I can imagine that I am there with you guys. I don't think I would have said anything to four guys jumping over a wall with Ninja precision, either! 😊

U guys are good at what U do. That palace is amazing! The frescos exquisite I'm sure valuable by some Known artist. Crying shame it's gone down like that😭.

Yes, that's how we enter most abandoned places. 💥💯 By the way, do you know the official "Broken Windows Theory"? If not, you should google it.

@@bwturbex it's definitely true. New York and Zürich are good examples, but also the place where I currently live. It was such a clean place where you actually felt safe. Then Antifa started posting stickers everywhere that threatened cops and anyone who doesn't agree with their radical views. Every single year, they march through the place and smash windows (I don't know what it's officially called, but it's some anticapitalist protest). Now, I have at least two neighbors that throw out all their trash from the convenience of their own window... Plus, the streets are swarming with beggars and they defecate anywhere they please. Also, the wells used to be of drinking water quality, but now you find residues of soap in them (apparently the beggars use them for washing themselves and their clothes) and the streets are littered with garbage of all kinds...

It’s always so sad when communities allow the consumption of such beautiful architecture. I would hope your videos will wake up communities to their treasure of heritage.
