Dude your videos are seriously amazing

So a big reason a lot of people don't realize as to why Roxanne wasn't in Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas was because at the time it was hard to animate hair in 3D so they decided to sub out Roxanne with a different girl to give her short hair. I have no clue why they didn't just give Roxanne short hair but that was the reasoning behind her not being in that movie

@@Gloomdrake I noticed in that French comic book, Roxanne's hair is blonde instead of red. Some people think that Mona is Roxanne under a different personality and different hair. For me, I complained that both Goofy movies didn't have Peg Pete in them, thus leading theories that Peg and Pete got a divorce and Pete got to keep PJ as a custody decision.

As a fan of long, red hair, I sort of understand wanting to have her keep the iconic look. That being said, why not just have a different segment in Twice Upon a Christmas? Better yet, have it be a follow up to An Extremely Goofy Movie.

Rattmann is alive. In a toys to life game called LEGO Dimensions (Which was this HUGE crossover game.), Portal 2 was represented as one of the franchises. In the Portal related levels, if you're quick, you can find him and you see his scribbles.

Sadly, a Valve rep said Lego Dimensions isn't considered part of the canon. Though on the bright side, in Schrödinger fashion, Portal writers refuse to confirm that he's dead while not assuring he's alive either. Part of message of the comic.

@@Nae_ex you have to take a flying character or Sonic and get to the far corner of some of the rooms in the main story's Portal level to see him up in the rafters or down in the corner as he runs off screen

I feel like if Cartmen's Dad did make an appearance in the original pilot, he would've been just like his son Idk why though

@@pinkbubblesnake there is one episode of containing Timmy and Jimmy joining the crisp and Kyle cartman Kenny stan(The Main Characters) dont appear that much often beacuse they "don't want to be in this" and "ignoring" by the end of the episode they relieved they didnt get involve with Superman drinking feetus to make him more stronger

it was stated that the reason why roxanne wasn't in the cgi Christmas movie was because they had issues animating roxanne's hair so they made a new character to be max's girlfriend

Porygon and Pikachu both did nothing wrong. It was the animator that made that lousy shortcut for an electric energy burst. Also, Pikachu and Porygon are fictitious characters and literally CAN'T do anything.

Always loved the Max and Roxanne relationship. Those two had perfect chemistry in my opinion. But yeah, it’s been stated that the reason Roxanne wasn’t in Twice Upon a Christmas is because the animators had trouble animating her hair so they just made another character. I hope they didn’t just decide to axe the relationship altogether. The Ducktales reboot does show that they at least still acknowledge it exists

Deleting an entire character and ruining future plans for that sounds like the worst idea ever, but... well, Disney.

If I remember correctly, in portal 2, there is a secret room or set of rooms where you can hear Ratman rambling. I think it's safe to assume he is somehow alive. At least, that's what i hope...

@@Gloomdrake It's visually what everyone wanted. It kept the soul of the original. I do believe alot of people enjoyed Alyx as a protagonist, but her and Gordon were such a phenomenal team that it's hard to separate them. Likewise, many fans were rightfully upset that the game was only available in VR, instead of also being available for PC. At the time, valve was using the game as leverage to get people to purchase their vr headset. Another common issue i personally have is that they opened a wound with reviving her father for the sake of plot; many fans including myself became emotional when he died. Instead of just making Half-Life 3 and progressing the over a decade old story, they went back and created a plot line that didn't need to exist. Everyone already knows Alyx is a badass and is extremely intelligent, we don't need an origin story to a character who's story was pretty much understood. We want to know how the G-man plans to use her, and Gordon, for his own mysterious gain, and how the death of Eli effected the world.

It's really nice for Rattman to get some recognition. He's such a tragic and interesting character, and I think he's one of the very best characters in Portal but for the most part he's overlooked. Another character that it might be cool to cover is Mark Meltzer from Bioshock 2. He's not really a lost character, but he is greatly overlooked, but to me he's one of the very best

I find the Roxanne thing a bit annoying, as the reason they're not a couple is just plot convenience. Both Extremely Goofy Movie and that Christmas movie segment needed to have Max try and get into a new relationship for the sake of stories. Plus, I get the feeling the writers of the Christmas special didn't really want or care for any major canon between the movies. Plus, while Max isn't used as much anymore, PJ just disappeared after the 2 movies. Max at the very least appeared in a couple stage shows at Disney Parks, Peej is just... gone.

I would love some sort of new Mickey related show or movie that brings back Max, Roxanne, Peej, etc. Characters that are important to our main group shouldn't be discarded like that

Because of the Porygon incident all anime in Japan start with a disclaimer to not stand so close to the tv and to watch tv in a well lit room so something good still came out of controversy

Honestly thought Roxanne appeared a good amount for that time period in house of mouse and the movie. Cartmans dad like his family was clutter as his single mom house leaves room for more story like how kitty doesn't appear much at all anymore. Same with family dynamics

Don't forget in that episode of DuckTales with Donald duck and Goofy Goofy with talking about family and showed a pictures from his wallet and there was a picture of Max and Roxanne dressed up like they were going to the prom

Okay so the whole thing with Roxanne got revealed by another Disney tuber, and it's this; the animators behind Max's new girlfriend were not familiar with Roxanne. There were talks that Roxanne's Hair Design would have been hard to animate -but really, it comes down to the writers forgot, just weren't fans or didn't follow an established continuity. Still sucks for we Roxanne fans, but she did appear on Disney's House of Mouse on a date with Max, so we got that at least!

I didn't know much about the story of how McDonald's became what it is today until my twelfth-grade economics teacher showed us the movie The Founder in class and wanted us to take notes. The movie made me realize just how much of a thief Ray Kroc truly was. While yes, he helped McDonald's grow tremendously, we have to remember that the chain isn't called Kroc's, it's called McDonald's. And thus, the McDonald brothers will always be the true founders of the business. But I wouldn't say they created what fast food is today, although McDonald's was the one to introduce it to the world, the first chain to introduce a limited menu, high volume, low-cost, high-speed burger system was regional chain White Castle (which first opened in Wichita in 1921). Interesting fact: Before they opened a burger restaurant, the McDonald brothers actually had a hot dog stand at a local airfield (for spectators watching planes) before they bought a space big enough to appeal to cars in San Bernardino, CA. Thing is, despite hot dogs being their heritage, Ray Kroc didn't want to sell hot dogs because he thought "there was no way of knowing what was within the hot dog"

A franchise owner realized a lot of people weren't eating meat on Fridays for religious reasons, and came to Kroc with an idea for a sandwich catholics could eat instead to boost sales. Kroc said he had a better idea, and said they'd test them both out and keep whichever one sold better. Needless to say, Kroc's burger consisting of a grilled pineapple slice on a bun did not do as well as the Filet o' Fish.

A lost character I think is interesting is Juju from Skullgirls. She was an idea given to the creators from a fan in the earlier days of the game and they liked her well enough to make a design for her. Eventually Juju had a reference in the game and was on the board for potential dlc characters. The original fan wanted royalties for the idea and the Skullgirls team began the process of doing so but at some point the fan messed up and broke a non-disclosure agreement so now Juju can no longer be used.

I heard the name Roxanne, paused the video, and proceeded to watch the Entire Goofy Movie. I'm now back.

I know you just posted this video, but if you are already making another lost character video, a character that I hope you could bring up is detective yin from the 2004 batman series. she was an enemy and then ally to batman for the first two seasons before Jim Gordan joined the show. after Jim came in, yin just disappeared for the rest of the series.

It makes wonder if Rotom was made, or at least pushed as hard as it is because Porygon has such a negative event associated with it.

Ok but what about PJ and that librarian that Goofy dated (forgot her name)? Disney forgot about every memorable character from the Goofy movie aside from Max.

I don't know if this character counts as an lost character... Miss Sara Bellum from Powerpuff Girls. She had an major role in the OG TV series, she's The Mayor's assistant and is described to be the "brains behind the man" (the man being The Mayor), however as time went on the OG show ended and eventually an reboot happened called Powerpuff Girls 2016, Bellum just... gone, we only know that she's using all of her vacation days in the show to explain her disappearance. However, in reality, they removed her cause she was "sending the wrong message" (or being "too sexual?) even tho she's an strong independent woman and sorta like an mother figure towards the girls. Edit: Bonus I guess, the Powerpuff Girls 2016 reboot did a lot of characters dirty, such as The Gang Greene Gang who are one of the "common" villains of the show only have 2 appearances, and not even make Snake or Big Billy talk. There's probably more I missed but, Miss Sara Bellum's case is what got me pissed cause... seriously what "wrong message" was Bellum sending?

The animators have said that new girl was supposed to be Roxanne but that long hair for CGI back then was hard so they changed her looks to the point it was a different person... But as i see it intent means max and Roxanne are supposed to be together

There are several lost South Park characters, here are some you could talk about: Ms. Crabtree, the school bus driver, was a side character in the first seasons of South Park. In season 4 he even got an episode entirely dedicated to him, titled "Pip", which many, including me, claim to be one of the worst of the entire series. He later served more the purpose of a background character until episode "201", where he was killed by Mecha Streisand, and he was never mentioned again. Fan fact: a model of Pip's skull can be found in the game files of "South Park: The Fractured But Whole". Ms. Choksondik was the Fourth grade teacher of South Park's elementary school. Her biggest role in the series was in the episode "Proper Condom Use". She made her first appearence in season 4 in the episode "Fourth Grade", was killed off in the season 6 episode "Professor Chaos" and was last shown again in season 6 in "Simpsons Already Did It". Muhammad was first seen in South Park uncensored in the episode "Super Best Friends" as a team member of the group Super Best Friends. He was later indirectly involved in the "Cartoon Wars" episodes, but due to Comedy Central he never actually appeared on screen. He was also a major part of the plot of "200" and 201", where he was never actually shown because of the death threats. All of theese episodes are heavily censored and cannot be found on any streaming service or on the South Park websites, altough you can find them on southparkuncensored.com

Crabtree disappeared because her voice actress (who voiced every female character up to that point) committed suicide near the end of season 3. They had to recast all the other characters (with multiple people) but probably just decided not to bother with Crabtree since she wasn't on it much anyway. Or it's possible they couldn't find anyone who could do the voice. Kyle's mom distinctly sounds different after season 3, so that might be why.

@@squid.696 well, in the case of Terrance Mephesto or Mr. Hat, who just disappeared from the show, and in other cases where not many people know about the character's departure or existence, I think it's fair to call them lost characters. In other cases, like Chef, considering he was so prominent ans had a whole episode dedicated to his death, I don't think he can be considered a lost character

Maya the Bee had a lost character from the 70s anime series. In the second season, there was a mouse named Alex the Mouse who used to hang out with the meadow friends

I think it'd be amusing if an animator for the anime snuck in Porygon and it blew up. On the topic of Speedee, it would be neat to have their happy meals do a line of anniversary toys and Speedee would be one of them.

You actually showed one of the flashes from the porygon episode. While rapid red and blue can definitely cause a seizure, the problem is strobing lights that flashes in less then a millisecond just like that portal effect that Porygon uses. I have photosensitive epilepsy and that particular flash you used in the video was enough to give me a splitting headache and an absence seizure. I was still doing stuff and making food for my family but it's a 5 minute black space. I didn't even remember the flash happened until it wore off and even though this was mild the effects will linger for a few hours. I understand that you didn't intend that because different people have different levels of sensitivity to light and I don't blame you because it's my job to reduce exposure as much as I can but it was a surprise to me because I didn't realise any footage from the episode was actually available. I think I had a dream last night that I watched the episode weirdly enough but now I'm not sure if that is because I'm a bit scrabbled from what just happened.

Pretty ironic that he made the effort to protect people with epilepsy by not showing the famous clip then goes on to show a different one that induces a seizure in you anyways.

Fun fact: in Pokepark: Pikachu's Adventure, all the pokemon use their anime voices. Porygon Z is there so they gave him a unique "anime" voice which just sounds like " ehhhhh eh eh"

The official Pokémon Twitter account saying "Porygon did nothing wrong" is just as based as saying that we've done nothing wrong. The American media loves to lie about us because they envy us! I love Speedee. I have a McDonald's within my palace's food court and I made sure it had a neon sign of Speedee up so I could always look at his and smile whenever I grab a Big Mac to eat. The combination of two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun is a beautiful artwork. Although I feel bad for the McDonald brothers and their grandson, I'm glad this fast-food empire exists

Here is a suggestion for another lost characters video: Jessica and Roger Rabbit... Hear me out, they have barely appeared since the movie and occasionally there is merchandise of them (which is very cute) but when it comes to animation, the two get constantly get the sideline. They are such a cute couple and I just want to see them in animated form. The pair hasn't been in like... FOREVER!! it's a vey odd issue though legally to get them back. Very complicated legal limbo as to my knowlege.

doug rattman is not a lost character, he had two purposes: guide chell and make drawings. he did all that so now he’s gone. he isn’t needed.

The fact that Roxanne wasn’t in “An Extremely Goofy Movie” is a crime. She didn’t have much screen time in “A Goofy Movie,” but she had an adorable connection with Max. If “An Extremely Goofy Movie” gave a reason why Roxanne wasn’t present, I would’ve been okay with it. However, the movie doesn’t even acknowledge Roxanne’s existence.

Even I’m not a Pokémon fan I can say that the Porygon incident was pretty tragic. Just see here some kids can’t stand really fast shots since it’s over steamily to the brain and they can’t develop what’s going on. Just the mixed of red and and blue in under 2 seconds hurts the brain so much because red is a bright color so they might have a brain problems since they didn’t develop the scene that’s going on because of the short shots.

@@zeepsterd can you please cover the stone wheel and chariots from the scrap film Backwards to Forwards. It was suppose to be a short in the car’s franchise that was suppose to be a parody of back to the future. Another lost character was Seven from married with children. He was removed due to being unpopular and they even hinted at his disappearance with his head in a milk carton.

I have a character that’s lost, mimic. Mimic was from My Singing Monsters and would be used as a monster to Record things to improve the song or something. It was replaced with the “recording studio” structure. After the devs implemented that, they didn’t feel the need to include Mimic. The Mimic is quite popular across the msm community, so much so that the developers mention it in one their official KZread channel live streams. The fans of My Singing Monsters are hoping that Mimic will soon be in the game. Edit: Mimic is officially coming back on the msm side-game, Dawn of fire, soon

If Disney insists on being in the reboot era, then make a new goofy movie and have max as an adult rekindling his relationship with Roxanne as a cheesy love story like 20 years later. It's the perfect time frame to bring in the people who grew up watching it.

The fact that I recognized Ratman on the thumbnail is amazing to me, and hearing his tragic story again was great.

I may also remember that there's also a SECOND pokemon lost media and it is Kadabra, if you didn't know, a man copywrighted the work Kadabra and won in court against nintendo, the pokemon only showed up in the cartoon about 17 years later, when the man just went back on his decision and said it was a idiot move.

Poor porygon. Pikachu shocked a bunch of people, and porygon was blamed for it to keep up company appearances.

It's a little known fact but "porygon" actually translates to English as "polygon". The amount of depth they put into these little pocket monsters is just so amazing 😍

I will miss porygon 😔

Hi zeepsterd, I am a massive fan and I also saw the 200 and 201 episodes of South park when they came out as well and I think they are amazing

I will admit this isn't exactly what i had hoped from a video with a title like this, its still a good watch! Though I was hoping more so of an analytical take on the tragedy of never truly knowing the truth about a lost character, Rattman and Roxanne both being great examples honestly, and how creators can actively jump through hoops to hide the truth allowing mystery to be the only answer, and of course hearing the history of these characters is nice and giving appreciation, but I guess just wanting it to be pushed a bit further would've been very interesting

Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam are all but history in the anime too thanks to Yuri Geller

Yuri Geller has since retracted his demands only a few years ago, so we might get to see the yellow fox family in a future set/episode

There is still a McDonalds here in Illinois with a Speedee! Its very nostalgic to me even tho the place is fully modernized Speedee is still there and ive seen him ever since the early 2000s

Here's one for the next one hilda from the muppet show she was actually one of the main characters in season 1 but after that she never appeared in the other seasons

Roxanne did return in the DuckTales reboot when Goofy was talking to Donald about family he shows Donald photos from his wallet and there's a picture of Max and Roxanne dressed up like they're going to the prom also people think she's that newscaster lady but that photo shows that she's not her

So glad you covered South Park! Was gonna comment a huge block of text about a lot of the "lost" characters from that show, many who have surprisingly large fandoms surrounding them, but I ended up forgetting. Can't wait to see which characters you discuss in the future!

I had never actually seen the legendary Porygon strobing scenes before, so I looked them up. Even as somebody who doesn't suffer from epilepsy, that strobing definitely caused my eyes physical discomfort. Sort of bizarre.

I never read the portal comic but I remember it being a thing, I think I just never got around to reading it cuz I was never able to finish Portal 1 because that game made me really nauseous and gave me a migraine from all the bright white in that game. But I have to say I might have to go back and read it if it's still possible because that quote from the companion cube "You're not a hero. Heroes die" it grabbed me for some reason, it's a really good quote.

Can you do a video on bond man from mega man? He was cut from the first game and after the internet came to know it he essentially became the phantom robot master. But when the remake was released on the psp he was going to be in but keji infune said no because to keep his cult status as the phantom robot master. So his legacy became his downfall, its tragic in a way, he was also a adhesive themed robot master.

How does the Doug Rattmann story even work? If Doug was following Chell in order to escape, then how was he also getting ahead of her to write the warning messages? With only a single companion cube and no portal gun, how was he even capable of following Chell, much less able to follow her while apparently also staying out of her sight and completely evading GladOS?

Did he cover Buck the Bunny? GameStop’s forgotten mascot? If not I highly recommend it: given how infamous the advertisements were.

I’d argue Doug isn’t lost, just forgotten, he hasn’t reappeared because… valve and fans don’t remember a character you can’t see physically in either mainline portal games unless they are really into the series, still love that you are giving my boy ratman the respect he deserves

I’d say the Brady’s family dog Tiger is a lost character. Only appeared in 10 episodes and was quietly dropped partway through s2. They also had a cat named Fluffy that only appeared in the pilot
