I totally understand the appeal of the shadowban. I purchased an Algorythm two seasons ago. My first day on it I thought it was trying to kill me. I got used to it pretty quickly though and find it super easy to ride now. I love the pop, snap, and edge hold. It's also when I realized I was not an advanced rider despite how long I've been riding for. Keep up the good work.

I agree that the Algorythm is meant for advance riders and above. Quick learning curve. I love mine. Got mine on Avran's suggestion; fits my riding style perfectly. Thank you Avran 😊 Don't know if i can go with a less aggressive board after the Algorythm

@@derekvandermark1227 Put simply it's not forgiving or easy to ride out of the gate. It takes more technique & muscle to turn than a softer board. If you are caught being lazy you'll catch an edge. I had also just came off a hybrid camber board that ingrained some bad habits. I got used to it really quick though and I'm a better rider for it. I also feel it broke in after a few days of riding.

Struggling to decide between the Yes Standard, Yes Typo, and Jones Mountain Twin. Consider myself on the high end of intermediate. I am primarily a resort rider in the PNW. I have the Typo and the Standard Uninc. The Typo is more buttery and forgiving with more flex and some early rise. The Standard Uninc is incredible. I can ride the full mountain at speed with no chatter. I has good pop. Not that buttery but doable. Solid on jumps, drops and through crud. Great in pow for not being a pow board. I live in Near Baldy Mountain and it works great for that hill. It is not super forgiving though. I do not board slide on it with the stiffer camber profile. I have eaten shite on rails with it. The Typo is better for jibbing and lower speeds park features.

Hi! I'm looking for a new snowboard because this is probably last season for my capita mercury :D I love my mercury and buying a new mercury seems like a obvious choice but maybe it's worth to try something else. What would you recommend for a guy like me? Advanced/expert rider, I like to throw deep carves, lay trenches, boost off side hits, play on the piste, be able to hit the park sometimes (there is no parks in my location) and handle powder when it is a powder day. I have all types of snow in my area. I don't like a bataleon (3bt) and soft pancake type of snowboards. One board is all I need. I know the best way is to test ride but unfortunately there's no demo days close to the place where I live.

Debating the Mega Marc vs Shadowban vs Jones Aviator 2.0. The Aviator is seems like it is more stiff than these boards but when compared to the Jones Ultra Twin, not so much. Thoughts on the Aviator vs the other two? Looking to get a new board to replace my Oz Woody, which doesn't have great edge hold and is cracking everywhere. Looking for single quiver board. Something that will serve me well on black to green groomers, can handle the icy open faces, can handle tight turns in the trees, has sufficient pop for natural features, and is ok for jumps in the park. I don't do much buttering or jibbing being in my mid 40s but kids are pulling me into the park more and more.

I've spent about 5 days total on Mountain Twins over the last two seasons and you've got a solid all-mountain board with freestyle potential. The spoontech is an adjustment, but it lifts contact points ever so slightly and makes it juuust a bit harder to catch an edge. Not the person you wanted a response from most likely but sounds like a good choice for you!

I want a board that I can charge with, but also mess around with when I'm riding with beginners/intermediate riders (which is most of the time). Sidehits, butters, steep black slopes, moguls, everything. I'm worried that the MT might be too soft for charging and the algo too stiff for messing around 😂. @Ithariuz The base MT holds up okay in moguls and with drops. The Spoontech makes all Jones boards unstable to throw sustained presses/butters on and they're just a little stiffer than you'd think. The biggest difference between these two is how responsive you want your edge engagement to be. The spec sheet on the algorhythm lists no early rise so it's going to be way more responsive. I am ashamed to admit I've never rode a warpig for more than half a run but from the riders I've seen using them, you're on a solid mess-around board that can go hard - the flex on a mountain twin feels similar in the hand to your warpig.

@@noernqknonepq8024 No shame there, this is really the only board I have experience with other than some rentals a few years back. What I dislike about the warpig is that the flat profile doesn't really hold up well on hard/icy terrain. Also the tail is quite short and that combined with the flat profile doesn't give a lot of pop. I was hoping the MT or Algo would be better for this purpose. I'm guessing the MT would be more suited towards slower riding and buttering and the Algo more for faster riding and steeper terrain?

  • @noernqknonepq8024

@Ithariuz both have camber and will hold an edge better in those circumstances, but will be harder to do big butters on. I'd say you're on the money with that assessment of the two boards. The MT is probably going to handle off piste with more ease, but I would assume the algorhythm is more aggressive overall. I peeled back the die cut on a MT doing a back 1 at high speed, but have never managed that kind of damage on my Flagship. If you like to charge really, really hard, probably would suggest the algorhythm as you can probably handle the extra sensitivity. Edit: just from my subjective, personal experience, Jones' build quality no longer holds up to serious abuse as well as Ride/K2 does. Suspect at some point having an old Jones will be like having an old Burton board - a level of quality the brand won't ever reach again. If you liked the overall profile of the warpig I'd suggest looking into the k2 party platter or the superpig to have a little more grip, but true twins are loads of fun too.

Hi, looking for some advice please. I currently own a 2018/19 DOA which has been my fav board so far. Recently bought a YES Greats which I found to be ok, not much character really. Preferred the quicker turn initiation and overall feel of the DOA. Also bought a WarPig a few years ago, but have given this my son now as think I went too small (148). Found it fun at that size, but unstable and back end trying to kick out at higher speeds. I’m 6ft, 190lbs. US 10 boot. Looking for a an all mountain board for groomers, side hits and playfulness. Don’t hit the park. Occasionally smaller jumps but tend to just find the natural hits on the side of the groomers. My switch riding is beginner, enough to land a 180 and ride it out. Probably a solid intermediate riding regular. Always trying to improve my carving, though I probably ride too fast for that and skid it out more. Don’t get too much chance for off piste POW here in Europe. Looking at the Jones MT, super DOA, MegaMerc, Evil Twin+, Shadowban Cheers.

Hey Angry, wanting to buy a more all mountain board something like a directional twin. I’m from Australia so our snow is almost always groomed and icy. Currently have a huck knife but want something that can charge harder but still help progress with park riding. My huck knife went okay in Japan recently but got a little sketchy bombing hills and in the deeper snow. I enjoy the flex of the huck knife so something similar to that.
