Hey. Thanks so much for your reviews. I’m looking for an all mountain boatd and after countless reviews the ones I’d go for don’t exist on my size. I’m 1m63 and ussually like to ride short such as 147 (i believe my yes basic was even 146 and I absolutely love that board) I’m an advanced rides looking for sonething in the lines of a capite mercury. The algorythm and the gnu gremlin seem like good contenders. How do this compare and would you recommend I look at something else for a good allmountain freeride board that holds good speed, icy coditions, medium deep powder and variable snow. Hey! Looking for some advice. I’ve got the Jones mind expander (2023 camber version) but have finally admitted to myself that where I live we don’t have powder so I 90% ride groomers. In your opinion is the ME good enough to keep as the daily or should I look at the shadowban or algorithm? I started on a ride snowboard and loved it so if I make the switch off the ME for the daily driver it would be to one of those boards. Thanks!

If you want a short answer the ME is great for carving on groomers and isn't really a pow specific ride anymore. So if you like the way it rides keep it. If you want to add to your quiver and get a non tapered ride the Shadowban or Algorithym could for sure work but it really comes down to your specs riding style and what you prefer in a board.

Of course. Mt. Bachelor but if you go almost every day to any mountain you will get some good days.

I’m 6’2, 180lbs and wear a size 11.5 boot. Do you recommend I get the 155W or 157? Also, for an intermediate snowboarder looking for a forgiving (not forgiving?) all mountain board that is great in powder but excellent in terms of turns, butters, presses, jibs, and jumps, would you recommend this or the zero? Thank you

Neither. Don't get the 157 no matter what you do. Pass on the 155w too. Too small for you. Go 160w. It's very forgiving and a much better fit for your specs. When you say the 155W is too small do you mean that in terms of height? For reference, the last board I had was a 157W with a waist width of 260mm

No. The 161 regular is closer but too narrow for 11.5 boots. You are much better off with the 160w or 164w for your specs. Go 160w if you want easier control or go 164w if you want a better fit overall, better float more appropriate speed for your specs. Those are your only real options if you want to size this correctly and reduce any chance of Toe/Heel drag which absolutely sucks if you have it. You can get hurt that way. Shadowban vs Burton Custom Camber.. what is better to all mountain free ride?

Hard to say which is better for you based on what you wrote. Algoryhthm is much more forgiving and has much better float. The Custom Camber has much more pop and carves way harder.

James you had a chance yet to ride the Deep Fake? How does it compare to the Algorythm and Shadowban?

Yes. have some early take's up on Patreon. www.patreon.com/thegoodride?filters[search_query]=ride%20deep%20fake . It's stiffer, more directional and has taper vs. the Algor and Shadow. Less turny too. More for freeride/aggressive/directional mtn riding.

Hello, I am 179cm, 75kg (165lbs) and have Burton ion 9.5US. I cannot decide between Algo 155w or 157. do you think for laid down carving the 157 is going to boot out easily? 155w otherwise do you think can be slow edge-to-edge?

157 is a much better fit for 9.5 US boots and a great fit for your weight and height. I'd only go for something else if you want something to carve super hard with. You can get something that better fits with more camber for carving. Hi James, I’m 6’2 219lbs, size 11.5 boot, mostly mountain, trying to do some jumps and sidewalls, 5% park, is a 164W a good choice for me or would you recommend a 160W? And are my Union T.Rice binding a good combo?

I'm 6'0 205 with a size 11.5 boot and ride the 160w. The board is great. 164w for you would probably be a lot of board. If you were 6'4 225+ and had size 12+ boots and wanted to charge hard then the 164w would possibly be the better fit. Go 160w with slightly stiffer/responsive boots and bindings bc of the width of the board and you'll have a fun playful yet still responsive and capable board you can take all over the mountain in all conditions.

How does the shadowban compare to the lib rig and how is it different?

Super different rides. Shadowban is a directional twin with a mellow camber between the feet going to early rise in the tip/tail. Much more forgiving and much better for switch riding and a better one board quiver if you want a mountain freestyle ride on groomers. The Lib Rig is full camber, tapered and pretty directional with a lot of set back on side cut (review is coming this late summer/early fall) but it's very technical, has better grip and is more of a directional carver. Better for a one board quiver for advanced to expert riders that like a more directional ride.
