I brought this and rode it for the first time last week. It’s an awesome board, you can really rail a turn on it. The camber and carbon allow you to really slingshot out of a turn. Surprisingly, it is relatively easy to press, it has a nice sweet spot just past the inserts nose and tail. Very poppy too. I’m impressed.

The Algorythm is hands down the best board I've ridden in 32 years!!! From midwest park laps to chest deep powder in the rockies, this thing does it all. I agree 100% you need to be strong and know what your looking for to ride this thing or it will eat you up. Great review, nailed everything about it👍👍👍

Just road this board with the Rome clever bindings and felt the joy of a kid riding for the first time again! The pop you get when you load this board was surprising and I even expected it to boost you pretty good. the edge to edge transition was crazy smooth it almost felt like a cheat code if you know how to ride. You definitely need some legs for this board to have fun in my opinion you gotta bring it and it will drain you pretty quickly if your not in riding shape. Avran nails the review (like always imo) if your looking at this board fucking send it you won’t regret it. Keep up the good work I watch almost all the videos I’m a fucking nerd about knowing what’s out there and love your reviews.

Saw some similar post but I will ask. I am 48yrs old, 5'10" 220lbs sz12 boot. Mid level Intermediate riding east coast blues and blacks, not much switch, riding a Cold Brew the last 2 year after a 10 year hiatus from riding. Want something with some more responsiveness and more stable in turns. Looking at the 161W Jones frontier, 161 Lib Terrain Wrecker, 160W and the Algorithm 160W . Since I am in the upper ranges of the 160W Algorithm thought it might work for me more then the shadowban. Want a step up in performance but not too much.

I'm a fairly advanced rider, but getting older, so my park rat days are mostly behind me. Spending most of my time in quivering through trees and charging down groomers, while launching off anything that will send me through the air. I am 6'2" (185 lbs) and wear a size 10.5 boot (Vans Pat Moore - best boot in the game). My current daily quiver is the Ride Superpig (size M), and that seems to be the perfect fit. My one complaint with the Superpig, is that it takes a lot to pop off the back tail. For the Algorithm, I can't decide whether to go with a 155W, 157, or 160W. Toe drag is my concern with the 157, and I've never ridden a board that's longer than 156 (as I come from a Big Bear park rat background, but now live near Tahoe and so spend most time riding all mountain terrain). For more context, I've ridden pretty much every park board there is... but not as experienced with AM style boards with my favorites have been the Arbor Iguchi Pro Camber and Ride Superpig. All this being said, what size would you recommend for the Algorithm. If there is something else you would recommend, please do share your thoughts!

I’ve been riding a 154 Shadowban based off your review and I love it! Curious about getting an Algorhythm while its on sale as a backup once the Shadowban claps out for something more stiff and aggressive. Looking to go fast down steeps, carve groomers, and hit medium size jumps and side hits, no rails. Was wondering if a 157 would work at my size or if I should stick with a 154 Algorhythm, while also a bit curious about a 156 Berzerker in comparison? 5’6 155-160lbs size 8 boot. I rode countless boards over the last 20 years, but that's really the one stand out board for me. If you are a strong and heavy rider, knowing what to do and your fitness is on point, that's the most impressive all mtn freestyle board out there. You gotta feel it 4ur self. if you are a little weak cry baby don´t even think about it. its a board that needs a strong rider. hands down the best board I ve ever ridden for its purpose. ride hard, fast and abuse that thing, she needs a dominant master.

Riding mostly park and groomers in EU. I have a history in powerlifting so I would assume im a bit more of a "powerfull" rider (intermediate-advancedish). Still trying to figure out which board to go for. Algorythm or Mega Merc? Im am actually looking for a replacement for my Ride Highlife 158. Last year I replaced my ride Society 154 for a Super DOA 156 after reading your review. Best descision ever. Mid 40's now and starting to feel it when I try to play around with the Highlife. It tries to kill me sometimes. It just wants to go fast forward. Not a bad thing, but My riding style has more turned into playing around, rather then just bombing a hill. Both Society and Highlife are pretty stiff to play around with and used to surprise me by slamming my face in the ground.. Haven't got that problem with the Super DOA... But I also improved my skills.. So when looking for more playfull all mountain, directional compared to the highlife.... Would you prefer the Algorytmn or the Mega Merc.

@Casey McGowan I love the algorythm and I consider it to be just as forgiving as the the typo regarding edge catching. Algorythm is much faster. The sintered base kept me cruising at high speeds without any chatter. I feel very secure on the board. It is much poppier. It is nearly effortless to get in the air. If you are looking to butter frequently, this may not be for you. But overall I prefer the Algorhythm over the typo. I’ve had so much fun riding it.

Oh do you want to go deeper into this because I can back this up a lot more than any of these dumb statements you're trying to post. Sounds like you just want to argue but you don't have any frame of reference and you're going at random ass shit off face value. Sit down you're about to get a lesson. So lets go into this. I own a Shadowban, I ride it almost daily. The SB has carbon array 3 vs the carbon array 5 which changes how it directs kinetic energy underfoot to the impact plates. While the impact plates will dampen a little if you put more carbon going to it they aren't going to stop it all. The Algorhythm has Carbon Slimewalls vs regular. Adding carbon to urethane is going to make it more lively especially when that carbon ends at the start of the inside inserts. Right there is a tech story that will tell you what you need to know. But lets go deeper on this, dude rides backfoot heavy. That means you're elevating the front to the middle of the board as your weight isn't centered. You can catch that he's riding this way when he says "off the back" as that is a staple characteristic of how he describes boards. He's now elevated half the board causing any chop and chunder to run into it, that's going to impact more and more. That adds to the lively feel. If he would put his weight on the front foot to initiate a turn and guide it through the start to middle of the carve then shift his weight back as he creates a power triangle with his rear knee pushing it into the camber that would apex the carve and slingshot him out using the power of the board to gain more momentum. He doesn't do this as he's backfoot rudder steering. Now lets go into your buddy that's shopping on Curated. 1. he's shopping on curated a site that will hire anything with a pulse and an ability to push their products to people that are dumber then the above comments. 2. If we're talking comparable boards the Project X and the Mega Death are comparable in ride, not in manufacturing process. They're both ultralight weight boards, designed to be ridden in set conditions, and marketed to the same crowd. They're both boards for someone with expendable income, that want a precision based ride with a high end finish. Albeit the Capita has the better base finish and the Project X is a tad more durable. Now if we go to the Jones Project X review it has the Mega Death, Korua Pencil Plus, and Nitro Highlander as comparable boards. Now if we go to the Mega Death review there's the Amplid Pentaquark, Nidecker Megalight, and the Nitro Pantera. All of those have the right photos of the boards with it, now I'm not saying that something might have gotten past the editor and the proof viewing stage, but sounds like this dude is talking out his ass. So are you taking some idiots comment at face value or did you do your research to see what he's talking about as true? I'm going to bet you didn't. Or dumbass is lost in the sauce and didn't realize we were doing a Top 5 list and made a small comparison. Maybe he was watching a live stream and we were talking about decks in a similar category and giving a broad reference to multiple decks. Did you think that? I'm not saying we're perfect over here, but you don't make it to the top of the food chain and survive 20 years at doing this in a changing landscape by reading tech specs and saying everything is the best. That's what the idiots in second place do.
